Chapter 12

Nuriel and Rehan finally got to his quarters .

"Wait here, I'll get her, " Nuriel said as he went inside.

His mission being to find her something she could use to cover up.

He walked in, expecting her to be seated at the nourishment or in the sleeping chambers.

She was not.

"M'eudail? " he called out.

Once, twice three times before he felt like he was going mad! He checked every room in there, then he ran out.

She had disobeyed him!

"What's going on? " Rehan asked on seeing his distressed look.

"She's not in here! " he said before running past him. He was certain he heard Rehan laugh behind him and had it been something else, he would have taken the time to hit him.

"Where could she be! " he shouted. There was no time for him to search all the rooms in the house. There were countless of them.

" I like her already " Rehan stated and Nuriel glared at him.

"Relax. I'm sure she's around here somewhere. I'll help you look "

They looks around the whole fourth level but she was no where to be seen.

"What's her name? I'll go to the other levels and try calling her out. I would use your endearment but I highly doubt you will be okay with that, " Rehan said once they came to a stop.

Her name... Goodness gracious, did he really not know her name?

Nuriel rubbed his forehead. He hadn't had time to ask her. He truly was terrible at this!

" Gods! You don't know her name, do you? " Rehan asked. Then he burst out laughing.

"Will you shut up and help me look for her! "

"Just wait till I tell the others about this."

"Do not dare! That is an order!" Nuriel snapped. Compared to the others, Rehan was actually among the nice and subtle ones.

He could have willed her to go to him but he was curious as to where exactly she was.

"I'll ask Drexel to help, " he said before sending Drexel the message through their link.

" You lost your chosen? " he sent back and Nuriel felt the humor in the words.

"Just look for her! " he commanded.

They searched for a while probably fifteen minutes before Drexel said he'd found her.

"Where in the seven bloody dungeons is she! " he sent back and he looked away from the still grinning Rehan.

"The kitchen ,Your Grace. At least I hope it's her. She's currently kneading flour while dressed in a shirt which I'm certain I gifted you, "

"What! "

Nuriel spread his wings and flew down to the first level. The kitchen, kneading flour?

And here he thought getting her to the Triecan would be the hard part.

How wrong he had been.

❇️✳️❇️✳️❇️

The plan had been to leave at first. Then she realised just how lovely the place was and she decided to tour around after helping Xavier out with the tray.

Then she'd gotten to the kitchen and had been met by the best welcome.

Everyone had bowed and curtsied, though she had asked them not to. And after that she just found herself making small talk with the many cooks who were running around all busy doing one thing or the other.

Xavier still insisted she ought to go back to her quarters. Like she had any.

But she felt rather comfortable staying there and helping Ester knead her flour. Ester was the head cook for..... whatever they kept calling that house. And she was really kind. Just like all the other people there.

"Am I doing it right? " she asked and Ester nodded as she wiped her hands on her apron.

"Very good my queen. You seem to be a natural at this, " she said with a broad smile. She seemed rather young to be the head cook, but then so did everyone in there.

One would think they had an age requirement.

Nuriel strode to the kitchen where met Drexel standing outside the wide door.

"Where is she? " he asked and Drexel gestured inside. The angel had preferred to wait till they got there in order to go in. Though Drexel was not what one would expect an angel to look like.

He was physically appealing, that was a fact. With hair silver hair that made him look younger instead of the opposite. Not to mention his eyes, most people just thought they were a clear grey, but those who knew him well were aware that his eyes actually resembled translucent glass. Surreal yet undeniably captivating.

But that wasn't what made him different from other angels. It was that unlike the others, he didn't have wings. At least not as far as the general public knew.

He stormed past Drexel and strode into the large kitchen. Everyone was busy, but the moment they saw him, they stopped and bowed.

"My king, " They all said in unison.

Well, all apart from HER. She just looked at all the staff, then at him with a shocked expression.

"King? " she asked.

Flame wasn't sure she heard them right. Had they just called him their king? Because if they had then her confusion just doubled on itself.

Why would they call her their queen then.

"What are you doing here? " he sternly asked.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm baking, " she stated as if it was the most obvious thing.

He took in a long needed breath. He had to remain calm.

"Leave that and come with me, " he ordered.

She acted as if she had not heard him.

"I said LEAVE that and come along, " he repeated more firmly. The words carefully pronounced.

Everyone had gone on doing their work, acting as if they weren't there. But Nuriel knew they were keenly listening to every word he was saying. Which was all the more reason to take his Doseth out of there.

"You can't just order me around you know, you're not the boss of me! " she shot back.

Nuriel had reached his patience limit.

He walked over to her and held her arm. Then he pulled her along with him.

"What's wrong with you, let me go! "she tried yanking her arm away. But then she stopped once they got out the door.

" King? They called you their king, WHY would they call you their freaking king? " she asked so fast she felt out of breath.

" I told you to wait for me in my quarters,"

" I did wait for you, then I realized you weren't coming back any time soon so I decided to get a better view of my prison, "

"Prison you say? "

He could not believe her. She was making it sound as if he was holding her captive against her will. So what if she couldn't leave without his approval?

"Yeah. You could have at least given me an explanation. Do you know that they think I'm their queen? " she gestured to the kitchens doorway.

Nuriel was about to answer when someone cleared their throat. They both turned to find Rehan and Drexel watching them, looking extremely amused. He had completely forgotten about them.

Flame gasped when her eyes landed on the two beings standing a couple of feet away from them.

One had brown wings and eyes. And his hair was a long blonde that had been tied at the back of his head. The other had silver hair. One would assume he'd dyed it but it seemed like a natural colour. And his eyes, she wasn't sure but they looked clear, like glass. She wanted to go over to him and confirm that theory. They walked over to them and just like everyone else she had met that day, they gave her a curt bow.

"We hope you fair well, our queen, " the one with the clear eyes said. Now that he was close, she had a chance to examine him better. And yes, his eyes seemed to be made of glass.

She turned to Nuriel, the others were truly amazing but to her, he was phenomenal.

"M'eudail, meet Angel Rehan and Angel Drexel. Brothers, this is my Doseth, "

So they were both angels?

She extended her hand to greet them.

"Hi, I'm Flame, " she said and instead of returning her greeting, they took both her hands and kissed her knuckles.

"Oh,.. "

" Enough of that, " Nuriel cut in when he noticed they were holding her hand for longer than necessary.
