Flame refused to go anywhere with the angel until he explained what was going on.
He had literally just turned her whole life upside down. It was the least he could do.
Nuriel decided to cancel his plans. Drexel and Rehan would have to go and talk to the other beings concerning what was going on. Then they would hold a council meeting after that and discuss the matter. The culprit had to be caught.
But for now he had other matters to discuss.
" Assure them that we are working on handling this. I'll inform the others and summon them to the council room early tomorrow morning. The safety of the beings is our first priority, " he said after pulling then two angels a couple of steps away from his Doseth.
"Guess Kael will just have to hunt for moon berries alone, " Rehan said.
From where she was standing, Flame watched as Angel Rehans wings changed colour. The brown was now turning into...blue. She felt as if the wings were calling to her. She wanted to touch them.
She did not know why, she just did.
And before she could register what she was doing, she slowly walked towards the three. Her eyes pinned on his wings. All she wanted to do was touch them.
She stretched out her hand but as soon as she laid her finger on one feather, he quickly stepped aside. As if she had just shocked him or was trying to kill him.
" M'eudail " Nuriel said but she barely heard him. The need to touch the other angels wings was still there.
" If that's all we'll take our leave. Good day My King and it was a pleasure meeting you, your highness, " Drexel said. Nuriel nodded and both Drexel and Rehan left.
And to Flame, it seemed as if Rehan was being led away by Drexel.
As soon as they were out of sight, she blinked and looked around. Wondering what had just come over her.
" It's not your fault. His wings just have that effect on people. I just didn't realize that even you would be affected, " Nuriel explained on seeing her confused reaction.
"Is he mad? I should probably apologize, "
He had not looked to happy about her action. And whether it was her fault or not, she felt bad about it. Maybe wings were like really private parts of their anatomy and she had just crossed a line.
"I'm sure he understands, " Nuriel said. But she still made a mental note to apologize to the angel if they met again. Only then, she would make sure to close her eyes while talking to him.
"Anyway, shall we go. We do have a lot to discuss, "Nuriel said as he stepped aside to give her room to walk in front of him.
She scoffed, " You think? " A lot was an understatement. Not even a lifetime would be enough to explain entirely what was going on.
Nuriel wanted to get her back to his quarters as fast as he could. It infuriated him that she had walked around dressed like that. And he had not yet forgotten that she had acted against his wishes.
Which was basically against the law. He was the king afterall. And although she was his chosen, she still had to follow his ruling.

Nuriel wondered where to start. How to explain everything in a manner such that she would understand and not feel overwhelmed.
They were back at his chambers and she was seated at the nourishment chamber once again.
He crossed his arms and quickly spread his wings before folding them back again. Something he always unconsciously did when in such situations.
" Hey! " Flame exclaimed and he turned to her. Her hair was now a mess. It had been blown over her face and she was in the process of moving it back.
"Don't do that! " she snapped.
"Do what? " he was clueless as to what she was accusing him of this time.
"Flap your wings at me. I was already having a bad hair day, "
The realisation sank in and he apologized. Then they stayed in silence for a few more minutes before he cleared his throat. If he was going to tell her then he might as well start from the beginning
From when it all commenced.
" I'm going to tell you all that you wish to know. But you have to stay quiet until I am done. is that clear? " He loved her voice. It was absolutely mesmerizing.
But he had also come to realize that she had a tendency of talking too much. Not that he was against that, but for the moment all he needed was her utmost attention.
"What if I have a question? "
"Then you can ask me once I'm done, " he said and got ready to start explaining.
"But what if it's a really urgent question. For example, what if you use a word that I'm not familiar with and I want to know exactly what it means but then you don't give me a chance to ask. By the end of your explanation I will be completely clueless and confused and you'll probably just have to start tell- "
"Fine! You can ask questions, " he cut in. Proving his point about her talking too much. She gave him a subtle smile then asked him to go on.
