(A/N: now my fever is pretty much under control and I don't have to lay on the bed like a dead fish or the constant muscle aches so here is the chapter.)
Shirou noticed that the thing that looked like a corpse was not a corpse, to his horror he discovered that it was actually alive. Its limbs were cut off, the skin was completely peeled off exposing the body to elements for god knows how long.
The flesh of the child was rotting and it released a pungent smell, even in this condition the child was alive, and the face looked like it was a specimen rather than a human face but shirou observed the movement of lungs and the ripples produced by beating heart and concluded that this thing was a living human being.
Suddenly shirou felt a sharp heavy object pierce his heart from behind. Spewing out blood shirou looked at the tip of the spear and under the scornful laughter of the priest he saw a red spear tip sticking out from his chest.
"A human cannot outwit a Servant. Of course. Only Servants can outwit other Servants."
Said the priest with a sadistic smile and mocking laughter leaking off his mouth.
In dying breath shirou fell backwards as the spear tugged him back when it was pulled out. With half-lidded eyes he saw the stilt house of his attacker, it was a man wearing a skin-tight blue body suit with blue hair and red eyes. Looking at a spiky-haired servant who looked like a romanticised punk with his earrings and his style shirou thought
<this is Lancer I suppose...and how was able to identify the disfigured corpse-looking thing be a human child?>
Shirous`s vision swirls and he is back into his sleep.

….
"So Kotomine Kirei is alive and claims to have been healed by a miracle of god?"
"I will place my guess on him using the overflowing grail mud to wish his nearly dead body into surviving."
"What is more troublesome is that he is a participant in the 5th war and is likely the master of lancer. Shirou you have observed his personality from the 4th war and who do you think is the most dangerous master in the upcoming war." asked kiritsugu and looked at his son.
"Except for the unknown master of caster, the most dangerous is the priest because he is the church overseer of the war and had most likely hidden the fact that he is a master so he likely has the information of all other masters."
"Plus a strong opponent is much better than a sneaky one" replied shirou confidently.
Kiritsugu nodded at this and they discussed the vision. Even tho the magus killer had steeled his heart he felt a stab in his heart when he learnt that Iliya was sick and bedridden in future because he easily understood that she was dying due to being the vessel and would be forced to sacrifice herself like his wife.
Immediately sensing the change in his father's mood shirou quickly concluded the discussion and went to his room. Time passed like this and it was already winter break. On the 1st day of the winter break shirou and Rin had decided to have their spar.
This time Rin won the fight, due to continuous sparing with shirou she spent a lot more time practising combat magecraft rather than researching hence she learnt the spell "Fixierung, Eile Salve" which shirou calls volley.
This fight made shirou realise his lack of tools, he lacked the ability to perform offensive magecraft and also lacked mana and hence he decided to take a gamble and start a project that he had been planning for the last month.
After the fight, he threw a water bottle at Rin and opened a box of snacks as she sat beside her. Eating a cracker Rin said
"Shirou your cooking is as good as always" and she remembered the incident where she nearly burnt down her kitchen after she was encouraged to try cooking after learning that shirou cooked himself.
He asked her
"Tohsaka can you store spells inside your jewels ?"
Hearing this she just looked at him as if he was an idiot and then said
"Shirou do you not know that it's considered extremely rude to ask a magus about their mage craft's working "
"Anyways I have never tried that but that's not possible for me now. Why do you ask about that tho?"
"Well, I wanted to ask you whether you can make a mystic code that applies the gandr curse when injected with mana." asked shirou a little embarrassed
"I can't make something that fires finn shot now, but if you want to apply a weakened version of the normal curse then it's possible if I practise making it."
"What do you need that for? It is kind of redundant because that mystic code will also require skin contact to apply the curse and most people who can procure a mystic code like that can learn to cast the curse themselves or have someone else cast for them."
Hearing this shirou looked down in embarrassment, with the amount of time it is taking him to just learn basic magecraft and not even spells, he guessed the curse would take him about a year to learn and even then he could spam finn shot like Rin due to wastage if mana.
He explained to Rin how he couldn't think of a way to apply any enchantment to the sword. So he thought of using the curse she used to make a pair of basic cursed daggers. Hearing this rin nodded and said
"I see, I will try to make the mystic code you asked for but shirou emiya you need to pay for every gem destroyed during the process of making it."
A week passed by and shirou had stopped practising mage craft for the time rather he spent most of the time forging and had spent a lot of jewelled steel that he had forced Tatasuo to make. After forging dozens of products he finally was able to make the blades like he designed.
In the early morning when shirou was cleaning and warming up the forge, the doorbell rang and he opened the door to find Rin in her shirt and long skirt standing at the door. She had covered the traces of exhaustion on her face but shirou was able to notice that and he was able to smell the burnt smell off the mana signature she was carrying.
She smelt like ash and smoke like the aftersmoke of fireworks. Shirou didn't know that this was just his Synesthesia related to mana acting up. He was smelling the remnants of the earth spirits that were destroyed when the jem containing them exploded.
This was a testament to the amount of work had to do to make the gem as a strict follower of the tohsaka family`s motto for her to look haggard even at the slightest was a major issue.
Before shirou could greet her she snapped back a little cranky and said
"Let's talk later, the more time we waste the more the curse trapped in the gem slowly leaks out Let go and get it done with."
Understanding this shirou quickly called his father and brought both Rin and kiritsugu to the forge and handed them a pair of new thick aprons and gloves. He said
"Please wear these as I set up the furnace."
he set up a fire inside the furnace next took two rough daggers from the anvil and put them inside the blazing forge. By the time the furnace warmed up the metal, he took a naturally occurring silver amalgam Arquerite and heated it up in a plate.
The piece he was currently using was also brought from an old museum auction. The museum sold out things like these old and mildly interesting rocks to make space for truly valuable pieces and shirou had got his hands on them through the Fujimura group.
Shirou being a rookie blacksmith had made the swords from steel directly and didn't use techniques like Damascus, layering and using different steel to make different parts of the blade that Japanese swordsmiths are famous for.
The chances of this experiment falling are very high so as the blades were warmed up enough shirou motioned for Rin to bring out the gem.
She brought out a light green topaz with reddish-black veins visible inside it. The veins were clearly visible to be moving around which showed a lack of proficiency in its sealing method. Ignoring that shirou took the gem from the glass case, she had kept it in.
Taking out the blade from the forge he began hammering it and shaping the blade as well as making a groove for the topaz. Putting some amalgam in the grove at the end of the blade's tang shirou put the gem in a hole.
As the gem got fit he used a small hammer to gently close the metal around the edges and close the gem inside the cavity.
(A/N: and we have begun forging. Guess what would be the name of the sword and its ability.
And guys want your suggestion, like if we can make a curse based on people pointing fingers. then why can blacksmith practices be considered ceremonial and steeped in mysteries for example in
In Japan the view of the sword is pretty ceremonial, they are considered vessels of god and worshipped in shrines and like how people keep them as talismans plus it's considered that the sword harbours a spirit.
Then there is the Chinese school of thought that a sword is a representation of the user as well as a vital part of the user. The sword and swordsmanship are supposed to show the character and personality of the performer and also it is a form of training of self.
Then in Indian culture sword is a symbol of respect and power, they are used in a lot of ceremonial rites and it is also considered a rule for trained warriors to always be armed.
It is a form of worship of your duties via respect that means worship of self.
As it is said "God is everywhere" then there is also god in you so you are worshipping by respecting the warrior creed that is yourself and you and your prestige are represented by your sword.
So i am planning for shirou to learn smithing techniques from across the world and make blades that can kill god while he is mortal.
