Chapter 15- Gate Spawn Horde (3)

Ace had beheaded a black tier gate spawn and immediately noticed the eight silver tier gate spawns charging towards him.

"I'm flattered you chose me as your executioner. Really I'm very grateful" Ace laughed as he thought of all the dark metal and possibly spawn essence he might obtain from the gate spawns charging towards him.

The ape nearest to him slashed at him with it's sharp claws as another one launched at him in attempt to headbutt. Ace suddenly changed his movements in a weird flow and dodged the headbutt as he clashed his dagger with the other ones claws. The other six also pounded towards him and he was placed in a tough spot.

" Well fuck this. As much as I want to get the dark metal, without a higher tier weapon this is just torture" Ace gritted his teeth in frustration.

Since they were of the same tier, killing them with his dagger was tricky at this point.

"This is my time to shine." Tora thought inwardly as she charged towards the ape king. She sent a large wind slash towards it and despite its size, it easily manuvered and dodged the attack.

It glared at the approaching human furiously and also charged towards her.

Tora sent more attacks and the ape king repeatedly dodged and blocked some of them. As they collided Tora was sent crashing into a truck and deforming it instantly.

Ace noticed it and grinned as if to mock her.

One of the silver tier apes then took advantage of the momentary distraction and struck Ace right in the ribs and sent him flying into a group of black tier apes who immediately pounced on him as they attacked frantically.

Ace after taking a breath, spun on the ground as he slashed at them simultaneously killing the apes surrounding him.

A silver tier ape then charged towards him in attempt to grab his head. He shifted his body to dodge the hold and slashed its arm off.

The ape roared in pain and slashed at him with it's other arm only for Ace to move forward instantly and thrust the dagger in it's chest.

It staggered backwards whiles the other silver tier apes charged at Ace with their fury greater than before.

Ace with a burst of speed pulled out the dagger and leaped towards a nearby ape as he manuvered himself and thrusted the dagger into it's temple killing another one.

The other silver tier apes leaped towards him simultaneously to pin him down.

"Too slow" Ace smiled with a glint in his eyes as he appeared behind them.

The apes stared at him with surprise clearly written in their eyes.

Ace beheaded one and immediately backed away as he placed the dagger in his raidsuit.

He pulled out the rifle and fired three rounds in the faces of the apes who were left.

"There goes my bullets" He cried inwardly.

As they were temporarily blinded, he appeared in a blindspot of the closest one and with the rifle stashed at his back and the dagger taken out once more, he stabbed the throat of the ape and slashed vertically through its head killing it on the spot.

"Only four left now." He smiled as he stared at the rest who were now looking at him with wariness as there clumped together for greater defense.

Ace rushed towards them and they instinctively charged towards him once again with a loud roars.

In the next minute, Ace was standing there covered in the blood of the four gate spawns previously rushing towards him.

"Goodness their blood stinks" Ace stared at the blood on the raidsuit with disgust.

" I wonder how she's holding up" He stared at the direction where Tora and the ape king were having a serious show down.

She was covered in her own blood as parts of the gear had been destroyed by the ape king who was also wounded just like her.

She was unrelenting and kept fighting with all she got against the ape king. Her dark silver tier sword was the major reason for her wounding the ape king so far, along with her movement techniques.

The wind based spawn essence was only obtained from a bright silver tier gate spawn and hence couldn't do much against the ape king. Hence Tora relied less on launching wind attacks through the blade and more on attacking directly with the sword.

As the fight progressed, she discovered an opening and directly struck the ape king in the ribs which also allowed the ape king to land a blow which sent her flying and the ape king staggering as it bled from its injury and mouth.

It roared angrily filling the air with it's ever growing killing intent and suddenly began to emit dark energy as it skin began to emit a gold luster.

"Oh fuck" Ace muttered with an annoyed expression as he watched the scene unfolding before him.

Since he didn't have a weapon that could affect the battlefield, he chose to stay behind and watch.

In rare instances, a gate spawn evolves amid battle into a higher tier. In the process, it emits an unstable dark energy which corrodes and eats away both non living and living thing respective. When a person is exposed to it, he or she might feel like their skin is peeling off whiles their life span decreases.

This unstable dark energy main purpose is to protect the gate spawn during it's evolution and hence doesn't harm it in anyway. The evolution doesn't occur immediately hence, the creature can use its power to fight until it's evolution is complete amid the battle. Afterwards it disappears.

" How bad is my luck???" Ace facepalmed with a dejected expression.
