Chapter 33

Leon woke on Saturday at a normal time as he hadnt slept for few days, he got changed into the only clothes that weren't training clothes and left for the front of the castle. The weather was overcast and not that sunny, it looked like it would be hit or miss with rain, after waiting a while Gil saw Jade approaching. She was wearing a fluffy jumper that looked nice and warm and a flowy skirt, the jumper had parched of a dark orange.

"Ari, you ready to go" Gil said when she was next to him.

"Yeah, we need to go to 'Ripper Bakery' where i made an order for an assortment of different treats" Jade asked.

The two set of towards Serv village and noticed other students doing the same, it wasn't as many as other weeks but was still a lot. Amount them Gil saw bigger students he recognised as 2nd years.

When they got to the village they went to the food section and located a small bakery. There was two small tables outside under a large umbrella with some chairs to sit on, the windows had flowerpots filled with red flowers.

Gil waited outside whilst Jade went in, a few moments later she re appeared holding a large basket full of food.

"Let me take that" Gil said reaching out his hand brushing past Jades. "Where we going" Gil asked when he adjusted his grip of the basket.

"Down this street then a left all the way down, then there is a large field. I found a nice spot that allows you to see a lot of the village and be near the flowers" Jade said. Following Jade they soon arrived at the spot Jade said. Gil could understand why Jade liked it, to the left was a large flower field full of multi coloured flowers. In front of them was a nice view of the village and everyone moving around in it.

Jade took out a blanket and spread it across to ground, she sat down and opened the basket full of food. Gil could see fresh sandwiches, pastry and more items all looking delicious.

"You coming to sit down" Jade asked patting a bit of the blanket next to her.

Gil sat down and both of them started to eat the food whilst it was still warm. Both of them didnt say anything whilst they ate.

"Say, how did the great families come around" Gil asked as he never read anything about it and was curious about it.

"There are different ways that the families can become one. The way my family done so was because they where elected to after helping several people. When the gates first opened many districts where overrun and many people died, as im sure you know, after a year or two when people tried to reclaim them my mum and dad went as well to heal anyone that was hurt. After that they where praised for that, risking there life solely just to save others, they then where raised to the status of one of the great family. The other was is to display your power, like Tash's dad how is the God of Ice. He froze a whole district and his wife is also very powerful in her own way. However there are God level people that dont become a member of the great family like Ava and theres also people like Leon that are extremely powerful and is at the status of a God but never bothered doing anything like that" Jade said.

"Can anyone become a great family or do they have to, you know, have a family" Gil asked planning to raise his name to that level.

"You have to have a family, one purpose of them are to raise the future. Some of the great families have used there influence to find a strong partner and have a child. At the moment there are two of these children being raised and they are said to hold unknown powers that will greatly improve the power of the respective families" Jade said

"Do you have any siblings" Gil asked.

"I have a sister that graduated here this year, she has a similar power to me with healing but hers works from moon light" Jade started "She has joined the army like i plan to and is already pretty high up"

As the two talked they finished all the bakery good and watched everyone moving. the two continued talking about random items unknown Gil didnt know what else to talk about.

"I didnt get much sleep last night so im going to take a nap" Jade said scrunching a chunk of the blanket into a pillow.

"Do you want something warm" Gil asked as it was getting colder slowly

"Would that be okay" Jade asked

Gil made a small orb of fire and walked a bit away to not disturbed her. Training his mana concentration Gil slowly noticed some rain coming down, sizzling the ball of fire by Jade. Gil changed his training style and focused on the droplets of water coming down and activated mana detection. Slowly Gil started to stop the rain finding it harder then he thought, moving back to where Jade was he sat and activated battle sense. Closing his eyes he pictured a dome round him and Jade, concentrating like that Gil didnt know how long he was there with his eyes closed but could feel his control of water becoming better and better.

Jade didnt know how long she slept but when she opened her eyes it was dark out, panicking she looked around thinking Gil left her. She saw Gil sat there with his eyes closed, looking round again she saw it wasnt dark out it was raining very heavily and the darkness was caused by the dome of water.

"Thank you Si" Jade said realising he was keeping the rain away and skill keeping the ball of fire there.

"Shall we head back" Gil asked opening his eyes.

"Yeah"

"Stay close, im not sure how well i can control this when where moving" Gil said, he could use an earth shield but wanted to practice his water control. Jade held Gils hand and stayed close to him.

"Not that close" Gil thought as the two walked back to the school, along the was seeing other students running back or having an umbrella. Gil felt he was losing control over the water and slowly shrunk it so his arm was getting wet keeping Jades dry.

Gil was happy about the skill but thought the description was very short, after a while they got to the castle and he deactivated the skill.

"I'm going to go to the library and do a bit of work" Jade said turning round.

"I think I'm goi g to train for a bit" Gil said stepping back out.

"I'll see you later…" Jade called out just now realising half of Gil was already soaked, causing her to have a small smile as she made her way to the library.

As expected no one was training out side so Gil had the whole area to himself.

"Okay hope this works" Gil activated the water barrier blocking all rain on him and then made small holes allowing droplets of water to fall through. Bringing his sword out of his inventory Gil slashes at each droplet before it could reach the ground. He kept this if for an hour before stopping to let his stats restore. Starting again he also made a ball of fire in the rain and focused on Keeping that lit whilst slashing the droplets. After a few hours of this Gil heard the familiar sound of the system.
