As the timer hits closer to the minute mark, a new room appeared close to mine.
Heading inside are the same set of tools. A pickaxe, dagger, and a wooden shield.
Without hesitation, I picked them up and waited at the gate.
3...
2...
1...
The gate opened, and just as quickly, I ran towards the arena.
Expecting a much more difficult fight ahead, I focused even harder than before.
Same situation as the previous one, large steps can be heard from the other side of the ring.
However, there's a difference. There's way too many thuds.
This is not the sound of just having one, two, or even three Hulk-like creatures.
There were ten of them.
How can I fight ten of them myself with my current gear? This is not possible.
As I was about to continue complaining about the set-up, I saw that the ten hulks are constantly pushing themselves and occasionally, bickering at each other.
They didn't have any coordination between each other nor are they even willing to think about it.
Seeing this, the difficulty was not actually that big of a leap from the previous one. In fact, it only made it much more tiring than difficult.
...
All of us now reached the arena, looking at each other with a serious gaze. No, just them.
I was looking at them with amusement and provocative glare, and intentionally showing it to them. This way, I would discord their group even further just before the match started.
It seems I was very successful as the Hulk in the middle immediately had a red face.
The green-red signal now blew off.
Leading the pack, the now red-faced hulk pushed his teammates behind him, leaving no one but himself sprinting towards me.
Just like before, I ran towards him as well.
Once we were 20 steps away from each other, I swung my pickaxe downwards, transferring my velocity into an upward force.
This time, however, is angled slightly lower in order to have the perfect aim towards their carotid artery.
High and alone in the air, I shot my dagger with great precision.
This time, I was confident in hitting the targeted area. What I've failed once, I'll be able to perfect it the next.
As I leaped down, a massive fist was about to hit me.
I reacted in time and dashed myself to the sides.
The other hulks quickly catches up and there were 2 in front of me and one Injured in the back.
In this point in time, my only goal was to stall for time and wait for the hulk behind me to die from blood loss.
My estimation would be around 10 minutes however, if he is stupid enough to walk up to me, I can just cut off the other carotid artery with my pickaxe or just kill him straight up by severing his spine through the embedded dagger.
I wasn't too afraid on being gang banged. The hulks can only fight me one at a time. If they tried to go against me as a group, their movement will be restricted.
In addition, the difference in sizes makes it really difficult to hit me while at the same time, increase the risk of friendly fire on their side.
Perks for having a small and nimble body...
Alas, that's what happened. I shouldn't have overestimated my opponent's intelligence.
The guy behind me immediately run up towards me, while the rest at the front started to push each other to get into the front. Some started to go around me to trap me.
Another punch was coming at me from the previous guy. Dodging or rolling from the sides wasn't an option since the hulks are now starting to circle around me.
Instead, I decided to slid off backwards, getting in front of the injured hulk.
As I got up, I kicked his chin upwards, opening up the dagger wound, enough space to kick it further.
He died.
He didn't even lasted 20 seconds into the fight and he already died.
I walked up into his corpse and picked up the dagger.
I used his falling body as a platform and faced myself against the others.
Seeing their fellow brethren died within moments in front of their eyes, the group of hulks now started to grow weary.
Seeing this, I used my hands to provoke them. One guy got mad and did the same thing as the first one.
...
As the fight goes longer, the lesser the number gets.
As the clock reaches 30 minutes, I was the last man standing.
I was only slightly tired. Due to the repetitive nature of the fight, pacing was very easy to control.
I walked up slowly back to my resting area.
Yet again, a similar window pops up.

I see. So I wasn't the only person who had experienced this. However, I was the only one to make it this far.
Well that's something to keep in mind once I get out.
Fortunately, I wasn't unfamiliar with all these terms. My parents were heavy into video games. So I was able to quickly adapt.
The main question is, how do I open up stat windows and how does that compare to normal standards?
As I thought about that, a window popped up in front of me.
It shows my full body and below it are texts with numbers next to them.
[Bud (Default)]
Strength : 18
Agility : 32
Intelligence : 18
Although I still didn't know how much different is my stats compared to the average civilian, I could estimate that the average values for everything is 10.
Which means that
- I am twice as strong and durable
- Three times as fast
- Almost twice as smart
Although the status are very vague and basic, it is still nice to know that my training paid off.
Moving on to the main subject, I still decided on pushing through and pressed 'Yes'.
