"Could you be a bit more ladylike?" The roaring voice from the phone finally stopped, and Lena brought the phone back to her ear.
"Sis, look at how many times I've called you, how many times you've hung up on me. If I act any more ladylike, would I still be Alice?"
"Fine, just say what you want!" Lena replied impatiently.
"It's early in the morning, what's the rush? It better be something important."
"It's urgent!" Alice sounded anxious.
"What happened? Who upset you?"
"My mom!" Alice said helplessly.
"Come on! If you didn't upset Auntie, that's already good enough. How could Auntie upset you?" Lena replied incredulously.
Who would believe that!
"Really! My mom arranged a blind date for me this afternoon!" Alice was at her wit's end.
"A blind date! That's great! You should have gone on blind dates long ago! Great! Great! Great!"
Fortunately, Alice couldn't see Lena's reaction. If she could, she would definitely applaud with both hands. Lena probably would have torn her apart. She needed someone to set her straight instead of letting her swagger all the time.
"Lena, are you still my sister?" Alice roared again, likely to make Lena's blood boil.
"You called just to tell me you have a blind date today! Message received! I'm hanging up!"
This stubborn girl was going to rupture her eardrums. Lena was deliberately trying to irk her. Knowing Alice, there had to be more to the story than just a simple phone call.
"Don't... don't hang up, I haven't finished yet."
"Speak quickly, if you have something to say."
"You come with me!"
"I'm not in the mood!" Lena rolled her eyes dramatically.
"I heard Helen wants a Barbie doll set!"
"I can afford that!"
"She also wants an iPad."
"Deal."
Haha, feeling so satisfied!
Meanwhile, Alice was about to explode, feeling like her heart was bleeding!
"Lena, don't let me handle you in the future, or I'll show you!"
"Today's weather is so clear and bright." Lena sang a little tune while getting ready, feeling pleased after seeing the note left by Grayson.
Dressed neatly, Lena drove her Audi to the meeting place.
When she arrived at the coffee shop, Alice had been waiting for quite some time. She leaned in and whispered something to Lena.
Lena bounced in her seat. "No way, you only said on the phone that I would accompany you, not that I would date!"
Lena's excitement drew the attention of others nearby.
Alice grabbed her. "Sit down, sit down!"
This girl, what's with the double standard? If someone's handsome, she takes him; if someone's not, she leaves him for me. Is my market value that low?
Lena was infuriated. For some reason, Grayson's image flashed in her mind.
Without hesitation, Lena said, "Add more drama, and it'll cost you!"
"Fine! It'll cost more," Alice agreed, tasting the bitterness of lifting a stone only to drop it on her own foot.
She nodded while trying to calm down Lena, who was on the verge of exploding.
The secret signal was a rose in the guy's hand.
A romantic gesture for a first meeting.
A guy approached them, wearing wire-rimmed glasses and greasy hair, making them want to gag.
Alice nudged Lena with her elbow, indicating for her to go first.
Lena took advantage of her distraction and pinched her hard on the thigh.
What a scheming friend.
