"Hello, Harun," the man's gaze kept wandering between the two girls, incredibly arrogant.
"Hello, Alice," Lena replied expressionlessly.
The two girls ordered juice, while the man ordered a cup of coffee. The three of them sat quietly, none wanting to break the silence.
The man looked at Lena, his gaze constantly assessing and nodding in satisfaction. Lena felt uneasy under his gaze, her foot tapping Alice's under the table.
Today Lena wore a pink sports suit, no makeup, her fair and moisturized skin complemented by the pink color, her long hair tied neatly in a ponytail at the back of her head, exuding youthful beauty like a college student just stepping out of the door.
"Miss Alice is truly beautiful!"
He was right to come; initially just playing around, he hadn't expected to find such a treasure.
"Thank you for the compliment!" Lena responded indifferently, frowning as she disliked Harun's blatant appraisal.
She cursed Alice in her mind. If not for Alice, she wouldn't bother with this mess, although the salary Alice offered was substantial.
"Miss Alice, since we're here for a blind date, let me be upfront. I, Harun, only seek a nominal wife because I can only inherit my family's shares if I'm married. As for love, well, if I offer it to you..." Harun spoke, self-absorbed.
"Mr. Harun, this is our first meeting, you're thinking too far ahead! Whether we'll meet again after this is another matter," Alice retorted mercilessly.
I've seen thick-skinned people, but never this shameless!
Harun smirked, unperturbed. "Miss Alice, why pretend to be aloof?"
"What do you mean?"
Lena put down her juice, her gaze chilling as she stared at the repulsive man in front of her.
"Miss Alice, you're just aware of the wealth of our Hashi Group, that's why you're here, right? Otherwise, when would a third-rate actress like you get noticed, except by seeking a wealthy husband?" Lena was so angry she wanted to splash him with the juice.
"The position of Hashi Group in the capital, I'm sure you're well aware. You should consider yourself lucky to meet me today!" Harun retorted arrogantly.
Lucky?
Is his brain malfunctioning?
Across the country, apart from Grayson, it's the first time I've encountered such an arrogant man, wondering where he gets his confidence.
Lena sneered, "You talk big; what makes me so lucky to meet you?"
"Miss Alice, with the rising status of Hashi Group, wouldn't it be an honor for you as a third-rate actress?" Harun's confidence was astounding.
"Hmph, I wonder where you get this confidence from!"
Meanwhile, Alice was enjoying the show, watching this eccentric man, wondering where her mom found such a fool. She silently cheered for Lena, glad she came.
Enough is enough. If not for Alice's mom's reputation, Lena would have flipped the table long ago.
"I'm speaking facts. Marry me, and you can peacefully be a socialite in the Hashi family."
"Socialite, hmph..."
How irresponsible of the mental hospital to release patients like him. Lena's temper flared, and she splashed the juice directly at him. One cup wasn't enough; she also poured Alice's cup.
