"So, you're the brat that made a contender for the strongest holy and demonic sword?"
"Yeah, what about it?" I ask with a raised eyebrow. "I don't really see how that matters to you. Isn't your whole gimmick sacred gears now?"
It is now just the two of us. I had told Meredith to leave a few moments ago.
"I heard something else about it." The man states, a small smile working its way onto his face. "I heard that it was sentient?"
"Oh? Do you happen to get your information at the same place I do?" I ask with a bright smile. "How's the 'Blazing Darkness super death blade of dragons' or whatever it's called coming along?"
The man freezes, his smile being wiped away for a moment before returning. "Ah, it does seem we have the same information dealer. Well well. Am I safe to say that it's right on the money?"
"Sentiment is... technically correct." I nod.
"So, you gave a sword an ego from practically nothing. That is quite interesting. How'd you do it?"
"Give me some stuff and I'll think about telling you how I did it." I reply easily.
"Oh? I see. That's how you want to play it, hn? Well, I may part with a couple magic weapons if you tell me. I heard you were interested in Arthurian artifacts riiiight?"
"Vaguely." I state slowly. "I also heard you had three of Vitra's sacred gear."
"Sorry brat, as interested as I am, I'm not parting with Shadow Prison, Blaze Black Flare, or Delete Field."
"Ah. Shame." I sigh as I shake my head.
"But what I am willing to part with are the two sister swords of Excalibur, Galatine and Arondight."
"Oh? I wasn't aware the Grigori had those... or what those even are- oh right Lancelot and Gawain's weapons... hn. Alright that'll be enough for me to reveal the nature of my nonsense. But forgive me if I'm a little tight lipped until you give the two weapons to me-"
*Clang*
I look down to the two blades he sits on the bar between us.
The first is a blade that has an aura of malice around it, it has a core of tarnished gold that goes down the length of the entire sword, the outside is a deep purple color, leading from the tip all the way to the hilt. The hilt itself is a simple C shape with chains wrapped around the blade, seemingly affixing the sword to the hilt, or at the very least adding some additional protection. The hilt itself is a deep purple with a dark handle, the pommel the same shade.
The other blade has a large golden hilt and handguard, a large red plus sign in the very center of the hand guard, around the core of the hilt, is a white strip of metal... followed shortly by a black piece layered slightly further down the blade's length. Beyond that is another strip of metal and the blade's sharpened edge, this time silvery in color.
"Oh?" I blink down at the two swords.
These are the real deal.
Arondight
one of the blades forged alongside Excalibur and Galatine by the lady of the lake, Arondight possesses similar characteristics to the two as a holy sword as well as their overwhelming power. However, Lancelot's madness later on in his life, due to his failure to prevent Camelot's downfall, cursed the sword and caused it to become a Demon Sword in the process.
Malicious: Arondight has the special ability to inflict incredible damage on its target, this was further increased when it became a demonic sword, however, this change resulted in the effect not only targeting a foe, but to an extent the wielder as well.
Hardness: 88
Health: 320

Crit (x2) (On a critical hit, Arondight deals an additional 30d6 Necrotic Damage, however, the wilder takes 6d6 Necrotic Damage in exchange)
Galatine
one of the blades forged alongside Excalibur and Arondight by the lady of the lake, Galatine possesses similar characteristics to both as a holy sword as well as having the unique ability that its blade can never be broken.
Hardness: 500
Health: 2000
Weight: 4 Lbs
Damage: 10d8+40+Str*5+6d6 Holy Damage
Crit Range: 19-20 (x2)
"Well then... alright, I suppose this is good enough to tell you. You know what my father's clan trait is?"
"The Malthus clan trait?" The man grins. "You're telling me that the Malthus clan trait can grant sentience to weaponry and allow them to have a mobile form similar to that of an Independent Avatar Sacred Gear?"
"Ehhh, sort of." I wave off. "My father's clan trait can bleed down to the weapons he creates being more powerful for less effort. It's primarily luck based."
With a flick of my wrist the two holy swords disappear, earning two quiet dings of quest completion that only I hear.
A ring of light appears in the air, the inside warbles slightly as a hilt pops out of the side of it.
I free the blade from the ring and sit it down on the table. "This is roughly what I could make with zero effort."
He picks up the blade and looks over it. "Huh... not all that impressive."
"It isn't. That's just the most basic of basic abilities. It used to be worse... a few years ago, I didn't even have a one hundred percent chance to make a magic sword when smithing... it's basically just a shortcut. My father used it similar to the sword birth sacred gear, but I have evolved in a different way... I've leaned into the luck aspect of my clan trait and now I can place a completely randomized enchantment onto a weapon or armor."
"How random are we talking here?" He questions slowly.
"Well, I can choose roughly how powerful I want the enchantment, but beyond that, anything goes. I want a super powerful enchantment? This weapon now is basically just a Gae Bolg Ripoff... or, you know, maybe it's a portable nuclear bomb now."
"Oh?" The man smirks. "That is interesting. So you just got lucky with Caledfwlch?"
"It's more like Caledfwlch made herself sentient. I made the sword so powerful, it seemed to decide 'hey... maybe I should have intelligence' and syphoned off a bit of my magic power to make it happen."
"So you made a... psychopathic sword?" The man huffs with an amused expression.
"No... I made a sword with multi-personality disorder and the general brain power and body of a five-year-old. She'll probably grow more mature as time passes... but if you really think about it, she's barely a couple months old." I deny with a small headshake, a slight frown on my face.
"I see. Hmm... the real question is... can you duplicate it?" The fallen questions, a glimmer of interest in his eyes. "Could I order some intelligent weaponry from you?"
"For the first question. Eventually? Yes. Currently? No." State with a small lazy shrug. "As for the second. No. Serafall would whine at me and I really don't feel like dealing with that... the only reason I am speaking to you right now is so 'you don't harm the town unobserved' and because you told me that 'You'd blow up Kuoh if I told Serafall'"
I complete the last two sentences with a slight mocking smile.
"Don't paint me as some sort of psycho, kid." The man sighs.
"Is this all we are doing today? If so, I suppose I should leave-"
"I did want to talk about another thing... my people... I want to hear why you killed them. Not from Serafall, but you." The man states, the conversation shifts, his eyes narrowing slightly as a frown crosses his face.
He's frowning, but through my numerous ranks of sense motive... I can tell it's pretty put on. Why the hell would the leader of a faction be annoyed by four random two winged fallen dying? That's like me carrying about all the human problems across the planet. I mean, it's sad that it's happening, but frankly it's not my fucking problem.
But I might as well play along with him.
"Hm. Alright. I told them 'I'd let two of you leave, and I'll keep the other two for negotiations. It's not my fault two of them whirled around before I could even finish half of the damned sentence and cut off the head of one of their allies and stabbed the other in the back... literally. I didn't want to reward that sort of behavior, soooo I simply tacked a 'This mortal coil' to the end of my earlier statement."
"Hm." The man hums as he strokes his chin slightly. "I should really beat into the two winged and four winged fallen the importance of listening to someone far more powerful than them. Alright. I hold no hard feelings. You did what you felt was right, and in this situation, I can find myself agreeing with you."
"But you revived the small blonde one, right? Why her?" He presses a confused frown on his face.
"She reminded me of my Fiancée." I shrug. "Plus, she was the most professional of the bunch as well. Didn't immediately try to kill me the second she saw me. The only reason she attacked is because the others forced her hand. She's smart. And frankly, a Fallen Angel would be fairly useful in rating games if I can increase her strength a lot."
"So... Lust?" The man questions.
"Nah. That's less important in the grand scheme of things. I was actually hoping it would lead to this sort of situation where we could meet... and I could scam you out of Vitra's gears, but Arthurian artifacts are fine too."
"Well now." The man huffs, an amused expression crossing over his face. "At least you're honest... perhaps a little arrogant to speak to the leader of one of the three factions like that, but definitely honest."
"You're pretty arrogant for stepping into my shared territory unannounced. Serafall would have your head if she found out." I reply with a half-lidded glare, an aura of smugness radiating off of me.
"…"
"So can I have that last piece of Vitra you clearly have?" The twelve winged fallen smiles, trying desperately to get me to relinquish the final piece of the set.
"No. It's mine." I smile. "But I'll get the other three pieces later when I make you an offer you reasonably can't refuse."
"Oh? Is that a threat?" The man impishly grins.
"Pfft. Of course not." I scoff with a small eye roll. "I'd have to be suicidal to threaten the leader of the fallen faction. I mean exactly what I said... an offer that's too good to refuse."
"…" he falls silent for a moment, looking over me calculatedly.
"Of course, I don't have that deal yet, plus our factions are still very much at war, but perhaps one day." I sigh as I brush a hand through my hair.
I slowly stand up from the bar. "Now if you'll excuse me. I've got somethings to work on."
"Hm. Alright." The man slowly states as I turn and begin to wander out of the bar.
"Take care of my daughter, alright?" The man states as I reach the door, causing my hand to pause over the door handle.
'huh?'
I frown slowly and look back. "Aren't most of the members of the Grigori your descendants?"
"Eh. Somewhere around eight percent." The man shrugs with an impish smile. "The point still stands."
"I see." I slowly state as I draw my phone from my pocket and bring it to my ear.
He raises an eyebrow, seemingly confused at what I'm doing.
"SERA-TAN! AZAZEL BROKE INTO MY TERRITORY AND IS BEING MEAN TO ME!"
"SHIT!" He loudly curses, eyes widening in panic. With a flash, he teleports away.
I smirk and pull my phone back, revealing that I had been calling nobody at all.
"Heh." I huff as I turn and quickly observe the bonus quest objectives I have just completed.
Reclaim Galatine: [x] (Reward 4000 Electrum)
Reclaim Arondight: [x] (Reward 4000 Electrum)
Ohoho. That put me nearly a tenth of the way to my goal... with my selling of items in the auction, I'm getting closer and closer to one hundred thousand electrum and multiverse waifus.
The main problem is, I don't exactly know who to go nab first... they'll need to be in a world that is a little tame if I want to use it for my plan.
'I'll figure it out after I've got it, I suppose.'
I calmly hold out a hand towards the door, teleporting away before I even reach it.
[Split]
I sit beside a small blonde girl as she repeatedly does pushups with several weights across her body.
"Y-You're evil!" She snarls as she continues doing her pushups.
She wears a simple sports bra and short shorts, showing off her midriff that is absolutely glistening with sweat and her legs... which is about the only thing she has going for her.
"It comes with the territory of being a devil... and the sooner you become on par with Le Fay, I'll leave you more or less to your own devices." I lazily lecture.
If she's going just going to be a subpar version of Ravel and Le Fay, I might as well grant her an advantage... an extremely toned body.
"This is- so hard!" She lowly growls.
"Hm. I wonder if the reason why the fallen aren't the absolute strongest out of the bible trio despite the fact that they have by far the highest fertility rate of the three factions is because most of them are lazy pieces of shit." I annoyingly smirk down at the girl who glares at me out of the corner of her eye.
"If you work hard enough, maybe I'll even give you a private concert!" I grin to the girl I am sat beside.
"S-SHUT UP!" She growls with a tremendous blush; she turns her head away from me and bites her lip slightly.
"I really can't believe you were a fan of mine, though!" I state with a bright smile. "I uploaded those deviltube videos to merely pass the time! But it does sort of touch my heart to know that people liked them."
"S-Sh- shh-" the girl stutters as she stares blankly at the ground.
"Oh jeez. How did you go from a defiant raging little ball of hatred to a blushing tsundere mess in less than a month? Hell, not even two weeks!"
"Be quiet! I-I didn't want you to find out about my music tastes! They make me insecure! It's worse because YOU made most of the music I listen to!" The girl snarls.
"Eh, I'm just happy you like them." I mutter while shyly scratching the back of my head.
"Stop acting cute!" The girl snarls as her head snaps over to glare at me. "We both know you are taking sick pleasure in teasing me!"
"You are very tease-able." I nod.
"Well stop it." She growls with a small pout.
I fall into silence for a moment as I look up into the sky, a content smile on my face.
"So... what's your opinion on being a part of my peerage so far?" I ask as I slowly turn to look back at the training girl.
"It sucks. I'm constantly bullied by my new boss, his gaze on my ass is bordering on sexual harassment, and honestly... it's a little fucking boring." The girl rattles off as she continues working out, letting out a few grunts of exertion from the several hundred pounds strapped across her body.
"Is that so." I mutter.
Pawn 3: Mittelt:
Mood: You are SO annoying but... is it weird that she doesn't really mind it? It... honestly feels a little good to have someone who legitimately cares about her... and it's nice to have someone to look at her and make her feel like a real woman. Plus, a small part of her does want that personal concert.
"Soooo I met your dad the other day." I begin slowly, moving on from the topic entirely.
"Wait what?" The girl blinks, pausing her pushups briefly to shoot me a surprised look.
"I never took you for a spawn of Azazel." I continue as I cup my chin, I give her an inquisitive look over.
"Ugh. Like that title means anything in the Grigori. Tell that to my hundreds of half brothers and half sisters. Raynare was ALSO one of Azazel's Daughters... with like a really creepy daddy complex... and did you notice how he didn't fucking care that you killed her?"
"That fucking asshole gets so many women pregnant and just drops them, I'm honestly not surprised that he can't even remember our names and our faces."
"…" I slowly blink at her sudden absolutely venomous snarl.
She pushes herself off the ground and falls into a seated position beside me, letting out a long sigh.
"He did call you 'The Small Blonde One'." I slowly state.
"Oh, that's just typical of him." The girl snarls as she glares pointedly at the building in front of us. "Send a bunch of single winged fallen on what's basically a suicide mission should the devil race find out, then forget they even exist not even a month in... I bet that fucking bastard didn't even KNOW I was related to him until he looked at the report of us all fucking dying and being all 'oh? They were mine?' On the FUCKING death certificates."
Raynare has a daddy complex. Mittelt has daddy issues.
The gothic attire should have really tipped me off.
She slumps back and lets out a pitiful groan.
"If it'll make you feel better... he's just as terrified of Serafall as you are... and I scammed him out of Galatine and Arondight."
"You. An inexperienced teenager devil scammed a several century old man out of two incredibly powerful holy swords." She rhetorically asks with a half-lidded glare. "No. That was building connections. You're less likely to fuck him over now."
"Look, Mittelt, if you want the guy to hear your voice, get strong enough to be heard. As you are now, just a two winged fallen, of course the guy would just ignore you... but if you get twelve wings, ohoho then you'll be in a place where you can tell the guy how much he angers you."
"Getting twelve wings is unrealistic." The girl sighs from her place in the grass.
"With that sort of attitude, Mittelt, you will amount to literally nothing. Why say that you'll never get there? You have to try, right? Fallen live a long life, right?" I begin as I lay next to her.
"First generation fallen are ageless... but second generation live for about ten thousand years or so." She answers as she slowly turns her head to look at me.
"Well, you have a good nine thousand nine hundred and fifty years to grow in strength." I smile brightly, trying to inject some positivity into her to get her back to training.
"Er... right..." The girl blinks as we fall into a brief silence. She seems to be trying to find a way to word something. "Gaius... you're annoying most of the time, and honestly a devious bastard the rest of the time, but... you're a good guy."
"Pfft- yeah right." I snort as I kip-up to my feet. "Anyways, I've got things to do today. It's been nice seeing you, Mittelt, keep training and you might eventually become a high class and get your own peerage, yeah? That can be a short-term goal for you besides getting stronger."
"I guess... but I doubt they'd let me have a peerage due to being a fallen angel." The girl sighs while scratching the back of her head and looking dejectedly down at the floor.
"Ohoho, yes they will, otherwise I'll create such a political shitstorm all those old fucks get completely obliterated. I'll manipulate them into a scenario where I could get away with murder! I'd break into their DAMNED houses and unplug their coffee machines!"
"Mn." The girl frowns as I turn and walk away.
I look back at her and wink.
"GAAAAAI-TAAAAAN~" a magical girl exclaims as she lunges from a nearby bush, wrapping her arms around my distracted body and tackling me to the floor.
"AAAAHHHH!" Mittelt screams as she flies into the distance with a flap of her new wings, one feathered, and one bat like, she leaves behind a couple of black feathers in her wake, but that's practically the only sign she was seated in the grass moments ago.
I look up from my spot on the floor, Serafall, laying practically on top of me, watching Mittelt slowly disappear further and further into the sky.
I look down to Serafall. "What did you do to her."
The magical girl tilts her head cutely, an innocent smile on her face as she beams. "I don't know what you're talking about, Gai-Tan! Why would I want to bully your adorable little pawn?"
I slowly sit up, causing the magical girl to end up being sat in my lap, facing me.
"So... did you need anything, Sera-tan, or is this more of a friendly visit."
"Gai-Tan... I wanna see how strong you are!" The magical girl declares, a bright smile on her face.
"Why?" I mutter with a confused expression. "So, you don't break my pelvis when you ride me or something?"
"Silly Gai-tan... you have regeneration! It wouldn't matter even if I did!" She cheers.
"Oh? So, you want to fu-" I begin, only to be cut off by the magical girl.
"But that is not the reason, no." She shakes her head as she stands up, hoisting me to my feet. "It's a secret!"
"A secret for what?" I ask with a small frown.
"Don't worry, you'll like it!" She smiles up at me.
"Will I?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes! Definitely! Absolutely!" The woman cheers.
"Ugh. Fiiiine." I relent as I bring a hand to my temple. "How do you find out 'how strong I am' or whatever."
"We're going to fight of course!" She replies as a bright magic circle appears beneath the two of us.
"Oh... oh boy." I weakly mutter as we are whisked away from the 'mortal' world.
