Early in the morning, Amelia stirred in her cosy bed, she could hear faint ruffling sounds. Shunning it out, she went back to sleep. Her hair sprawled all over her face and she snuggled deeper into her pillows.

Downstairs Mrs Chi adjusted one of the decorations, she glanced around but couldn't find her eldest Daughter

"Where's your sister?" She asked, gazing at Chi Ying

Chi Ying also cluelessly glanced around

"That brat should still be sleeping!" Mrs Chi exclaimed and she stormed upstairs

Barging into the room she flipped the light on

"Are you a sloth!?" She yelled

Amelia groggily opened her eyes, squinting against the sudden glare, "Ugh what do you want?" She mumbled

Mrs Chi's anger boiled over as she smacked her on the head, "What do you mean by that!!" She yelled, "Is your brain fried?! Your sister is leaving today, and some guests are already here. You're still sleeping!? Get dressed and Come downstairs in 10 minutes or else…"

With that, she slammed the door

Amelia blinked, She grabbed her pillow, then raised the blanket and slowly went to sleep.

But the tightly shut door opened again, and Amelia's heart skipped a beat, She quickly jumped off the bed, her eyes inwardly flew to the door, and she sighed in relief

"What up?" Amelia said gazing at her sister

"Nothing, Mom just told me to remind you to also pack up"

Amelia furrowed her brows in confusion, "What for?" She asked

"Duhh!! Isn't it to move to the Ze household" Chi Ying rolled her eyes, An envious look flashed across her face

"What!!" Amelia yelled angrily, "I already said I'm not going!"

"That's not up to me," Chi Ying answered, holding the door knob. "Don't make mom wait"

Going downstairs, Amelia was stunned at the boisterous crowd. She quickly moved her feet to avoid greeting those aunties.

Glancing around, she spotted her mom and sister.

Chi Ying was dressed in a delicate lace dress, She had a warm smile on her face as she followed behind Mrs Chi and greeted the guest, her movements were graceful as she extended her hands adorned with jewellery to welcome the guests.

"Ying'er you've gotten so pretty," a posh middle-aged woman complimented as Chi Ying welcomed her

"And she's already a doctor so young! ," another rich lady exclaimed enviously. "That's what they call beauty and brain, Mrs Chi is so lucky"

Mrs Chi grinned and nudged Chi Yang "Quick Show your appreciation"

Chi Ying smiled embarrassingly. "Thank you, aunties"

Watching nearby, Amelia quickly moved away afraid they would see her, She walked to the table and served herself a slice of cake, She topped it with two cupcakes

Feeling satisfied, She took a bite of the cake, And closed her eyes in sweetness, Her eyes sparkling as she took another bite

"Two years and you still haven't changed you glutton" A smooth husky voice said

Amelia turned and saw Sun Wei, "Ah Wei!" She exclaimed, A huge smile evident on her face showing her two dimples. "I missed you"

Sun Wei felt his heart pounding at the sudden word, Unable to resist he pulled her in for a hug, "Did you miss me or my food, Such insincerity" He said as he snorted showing a look of disdain on his face.

"H-hehe! You know me too well," She winked while giggling, "by the way, Where are the others? Oh Hold on let me Message Evelyn" She said as she tried to grab her phone but was stopped

"No need, They should be here we actually came in together, they should be around here" He glanced around and Amelia followed suit

Just then her eyes met with another pair of dark eyes, His eyes bored into hers and Amelia couldn't help but look away feeling a slight uneasiness.

Zetian pursued his lips, His gaze dark. He had witnessed the whole interaction.

So he's really back

Wearing a dark blue tailored suit he looked quite handsome yet also unapproachable, he held a little girl's hands, Her hair was tied in a baby bun and she was still in her school uniform making her look cute and lively

"Oh, there they are, Let go" Sun Wei clamped their hands together and walked over, Still holding Amelia's hand he went up to Zetian,

The little girl in his hands quickly released him and rushed to Amelia, "Aunt!" She yelled

"Qiao Qiao! You are also here, Come and let go eat cake, fruit punch, and cupcakes, they're also cram berries we could eat after and then have parfait and… Oh hey Evelyn, come here let go"

Amelia ditched Sun Wei and excitedly dragged them to the food table

Sun Wei's mouth twitched, Nothing really changed, She was still a foodie.

Feeling the emptiness in his hands, He felt a little sullen, Looking up, his gaze met that of Zetian, He felt hostility towards him but he still gestured a greeting

Zetian nodded and answered, "Welcome back"

Sun Wei grunted out a reply and the atmosphere was a little awkward for him as it had been long since they last met and they were not exactly close, to begin with, "How has your company been lately?" Sun Wei asked

"Not bad"

"En that's good"

"Ok," Zetian replied, his dark, tousled hair cascading over his forehead, partially concealing his dark eyes. "I'll go grab a drink"

Sun Wei nodded'" Alright, Then I'll follow the girls…uh see you then"

They parted ways and Sun Wei glanced over at the figure again. He saw him holding a glass of water and finding a quiet corner to settle in. He had a detached look on his face.

Sun Wei sighed, What was so good about him

Meanwhile, Zetian sat in his seat, He took a sip from the glass of water when Chi Ying approached him, She held multiple bags and walked over with a smile

"Brother Zetian you're here! Come, Mother Ze and my mom are there, let's go over" Saying that, She hooked her arms with his and dragged him along

"Mom!" Chi Ying yelled excitedly and the two middle-aged women looked up, Chi Ying was slightly embarrassed, Tugging at her hair she greeted "Mother Ze, Mom, Brother Zetian came to see me off"

"Child you're here"

"Hello, Auntie" Zetian greeted, Mother Ze glanced at him and scrunched up her nose at the sight of him being empty-handed, She specifically reminded him to bring a gift, "Zetian, didn't you say you were going to get a gift for Ying'er"

"Hmm, did I? Must have slipped my mind," he said softly, Tapping his watch, His voice deep and cold

Chi Ying was a little disappointed and dripped her head low.

Seeing his nonchalant expression anger rushed to Mother Ze and she howled, "How could you possibly forget such an important thing!"

Chi Ying quickly intervened with a light chuckle, "It's okay Auntie, Brother Zetian is quite a busy person, see he runs a huge company " She softly pushed Mother Ze to Mrs Chi and gave her a knowing look

Mrs Chi understood and pulled Mother Ze, " Come on, let go, I got you the herbal tea you said you wanted. By the way, Zetian thank you for sparing your time for Amelia, If she misbehaves do not hesitate to tell this old lady" I believe I still have enough strength for a few rounds of beating, She thought but of course, she did not add that

Zetian with a blank look shook his head, "It's nothing, Auntie"

"Okay, you guys can catch up, I and your mom will be busy"

The two women left the secluded corner, And only Chi Ying and Zetian were left there, Zetian stood motionlessly as he stared blankly in a direction

"How have you been?" Chi Ying asked breaking the silence.

"Just going through the motions."

"Ohh" Chi Ying was disappointed, she felt her heart sink. "Am I bothering you?" She asked quietly

It felt like he couldn't be bothered to have a conversation with her

Zetian glanced at her for a few seconds then his expression began to harden, "No. Look, Chi Ying, I've known about your feelings for me" He said, his dark gaze staring unwaveringly

"You did?" She exclaimed in surprise.

"I do not wish to give you the wrong impression, I have no feelings for you"

Chi Ying felt a pang of sadness, her eyes reddened, She felt tears well up in her eyes. "I j-just thought…Well, never mind." She lowered her head looking down at her hands.

She had liked him for as long as she could remember. It hurts.. it hurts a lot to realise the feelings weren't mutual, Even though he didn't exactly show interest to begin with,

it was all her.

Chi Ying tried to hold back her tears, but they began to flow down her cheeks.

Zetian was suddenly at a loss for what to do.

"I'm sorry," She said, her voice shaking. "I don't mean to cry. I just… I wish things were different"

Zetian watched as her eyelid drooped, He leaned forward and clumsily rested a hand on her shoulder. "It's okay," he said, His voice still slightly cold.

Chi Ying could feel the heat radiating from him, This was the first time he had been this close to her. It may have been the adrenaline coursing through her body or the desperation but without thinking, She leaned in and kissed him.

The three girls with the addition of Sun Wei finally finished the mountain of food they poured, Qiao Qiao rubbed her tummy and burped, "Ewww excuse you" Amelia said as she pinched her cheeks

Qiao Mei giggled and stood on her feet, "Aunt, I need to get my bag from Zetian Ge ge, I promised Mom to do my assignment"

"Okay Sit here, I'll go get it from him alright"

Qiao Mei nodded, "Alright thank you, Auntie"

Searching around the venue for a while, She was finally told by Mrs Chi where he was.

She walked to the secluded area and saw Zetian and he seemed to be talking to…

Chi Ying!

Amelia watched as Chi Ying sobbed and Zetian held her shoulders, She heard him say "It okay"

She's crying because she had to leave?

Suddenly, She saw Chi Ying leaned forward and kissed him

Amelia felt her heart ache, She clenched her fist tightly and walked away.

Right, They love each other, it shouldn't be strange.

Amelia didn't know how she made her way back, But Qioa Mei approached her," Aunty, where is it?"

"Oh, your big cousin is a little busy now, we can ask him later, now go and greet the guest"

Zetian blinked in surprise, his gaze darkened as he pushed away

"Get away from me" he snarled

Zetian turned and walked away.

Chi Ying smiled mockingly, She despised herself, no, not only did she despise herself she found her move disgusting.

Stepping out, Zetian bumped into Mrs chi, "Oh Zetian, Amelia was looking for you earlier for Qiao Qiao's school bag, But I saw her back at the table, The brat should have given up after searching"

She was looking for me?

"Okay Auntie, I'm leaving now"

"Ahh, you're leaving? So soon," Mrs Chi exclaimed, "Where's Chi Ying? Let me inform her to come bid her farewell"

"No need Auntie, Let me get the car so Qiao Mei doesn't have to walk there, I'm guessing she should've eaten a lot with Amelia"

Mrs Chi nodded, "Yeah, Let me also get Amelia to bring her luggage," she said and left

At the table, Amelia was unusually quiet while Qiao Mei obediently sat down and ate an apple. Evelyn and Sun Wei caught up on things, Occasionally Sun Wei would glance at Amelia.

Evelyn received a WeChat notification and she glanced at it, Immediately her gaze darkened.

"Amy, I need to go home."

They bid goodbye and she left.

Just then, Mrs Chi came, "Get your stuff, Zetian is leaving"

"Mom! I said I'm not going" There was a screeching sound of a chair scraping as Amelia immediately stood up

Amelia really didn't want to go, Especially after the scene she walked into earlier.

Would that not be inappropriate?

She understood that her mother was just worried about her being alone or not knowing how to run the company when she takes over, but that was not needed.

"Let's not start this again" Mrs Chi annoyingly tapped her fingers

"No Mom and You can't make me go, I do not want to"

"I can't make you go?"

"You can't"

At the Ze household, Amelia with a grumpy look dragged her luggage in.

Qiao Qiao followed behind. "Aunt, Are you angry?"

Amelia snorted but still replied "No I'm not," she said and stumped away

Qiao Mei innocently blinked and turned towards Zetian, "Gege, why is aunt angry?"

"She's not, she's just hungry, Tell her to go to bed early as we are going for Morning run, Do your assignment and go to bed"
