CHAPTER - XX

After checking his condition Derek quickly showered and went to bed, what he wanted at that moment was to sleep, although he wasn't physically tired, he was mentally tired from the pain he had just gone through.

It only took a few seconds for sleep to overcome Derek, once he fell asleep Lucy climbed onto his chest monitoring his vital signs until the next morning.

Derek felt something metallic touch his face and a voice calling him, until he opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Lucy with one of her paws hitting his face, trying to wake him up.

Derek : "Lucy I'm already awake there's no need for you to keep using your paw."

Lucy: "You're finally awake Derek, it's already eight in the morning, I recommend you get dressed, to go to breakfast an hour before the food runs out."

Derek : "What, it's already eight, looks like I was really tired, thanks Lucy for waking me up", a few minutes later we can see Derek and Lucy on Derek's head, walking through the corridors of the Ant Hill until they reach the dining room and enter

Derek quickly grabbed a tray and helped himself to a large amount of food, just as he was about to turn he caught the presence of two familiar people behind him.

"Good morning Kamala, Cassie" Derek greeted them, causing them to be surprised, as they tried to surprise him, but ended up surprised thanks to Derek's heightened senses.

"How did you know it was us" demanded Cassie still being surprised, while Kamala looked embarrassed, because she had already remembered that Derek has heightened senses.

"Hahaha, you should have seen your faces, but seriously Kamala, you forgot that I have heightened senses, and to answer your question, the same way I realized you were eavesdropping when we were all in the medical room, or seriously you thought I had overlooked when you talked about transforming my arm and leg into swords" Derek told them with a smirk directed for Kamala and Cassie, making the latter more embarrassed.

"You knew?" asked Cassie

"Mm, from the beginning, but I decided not to tell anyone, but you were the one who made the first mistake, by naming what happened in my fight against the adaptoid, but you shouldn't worry Kamala and I don't plan to talk to anyone about it" Derek told her, so she would calm down, Kamala for her part nodded and put her hand on his shoulder in acknowledgement.

"Well girls what do you say we go eat" Derek said to go ahead as he saw Cassie's affection window, then close it and eat.

Kamala and Cassie, sat at the same table with Derek, "Girls what are you planning to do next" asked Derek,

Cassie : "Actually I was thinking of showing Kamala around the anthill and training a little"

"Yeah, why don't you come with us and relax a bit" suggested Kamala and Lucy also nodded in agreement.

"Okay, sounds like a good idea" Derek replied making them smile, so time passed while they ate and Lucy for her part watched and learned.

"Alright, I'll take you to each facility in the Ant Hill, follow me" Cassie took them through each place in the Ant Hill, scientific, mechanical, engineering, which are in charge of creating clothes, suits or tools for the inhumans who can't control their powers.

The next place Cassie took Kamala and Derek was to meet Sarah Garza, who is in charge of giving small missions to qualified Inhumans to destroy groups or small AIM labs that are not heavily guarded, and they are rewarded with special equipment for it or money, Derek was not interested in any of that, but he realized that this woman's sense for joking was a bit heavy, because of what happened the next moment.

"So AIM sent them as spies, did they really think we wouldn't notice" was what she said as she pulled out a gun, Derek reacted quickly covering himself in metal scales ready to attack, while Kamala didn't know how to react, Sarah seeing that this would go bad if she went through with this put the gun away and said she was only joking, Cassie for her part had her hand on her forehead in frustration.

"Guys, it's all good, it's just Sarah's sense of humor is a bit warped, if I do say so myself" Cassie told them, stepping in front of Sarah so nothing bad would happen, then grabbing Derek's arm and Kamala's, causing the former to return his body to normal but still looking at Sarah warily.

"oh Sarah seriously a gun" Cassie shouted at her

"O come on Cassie you shouldn't get upset, it's fake" Sarah said in reproach.

"Sorry if I surprised you kids, I just wanted to see the reaction of the guys who have been giving AIM trouble" Sarah told them in apology and making Derek and Kamala look surprised.

"You know about us?" asked Kamala

"Of course I know about you, I put cameras on most of the robots destroyed in the desert, you shouldn't worry about your identities, only Hank, the avengers and I know them, I would recommend you to wear masks" that was what she told them, Cassie decided they had had enough of Sarah, so she decided to go to another section of the anthill, but before she could leave she told them to look for her if they wanted to do any mission.

Cassie took them from one place to another, like the medical room, she even told them about all the robots that Hank Pym created based on the synthezoids to grow plants or help with everyday things, but the main one is Roy, which is still connected to the AIM signals intercepting their signal without them realizing it, that was the way Hank has been able to rescue or get there before they capture inhumans.

By the time it was noon they headed to the mess hall, but only found Hank, neither Bruce or Tony were to be found, they already knew why Tony was gone, but they don't know why Bruce was nowhere to be found, Kamala, Cassie and Derek approached with their trays and sat down, the first to ask was Cassie.

Cassie : "Dad, why isn't Bruce here, weren't you supposed to be together" she asked.

hank : "That's because Roy intercepted a signal from AIM, to capture a group of inhumans in the early morning, I had to send him quickly with Theo, I only sent them in case a looks like an adaptoid, they can escape along with the victims, it would have been better if Tony went too, but he left at midnight, to bring the chimera."

"I see, but why didn't you send me or someone from us Three" asked Derek,

hank : "That's because none of you have experience in rescue, as far as Derek can see, you don't have full control in your powers like for example your flames your attacks are very destructive and if we compare you with Hulk, he is the best option because even if it doesn't appear so he can control his strength not to kill the people you have to rescue"

hank : "you are very good at fighting, but you must learn how to use your powers in every mission or for any surprise."

hank : "in Kamala's case she would be the most inexperienced, not having any training, not to mention that if she overuses her powers she will faint from the loss of calories or energy"

hank : "and in your case daughter you are no exception when you get bigger you have no control over how much strength you use".

Cassie not being able to take any more of what Hank said spoke up, "That's because every time I ask you for advice or to train me, you always change the subject, or tell me I shouldn't do any of that daddy, I'm tired of this" she yelled in frustration, getting up and walking out of the dining room, all were silent.

Kamala got up and followed Cassie,

"aren't you going to follow them" asked Hank

"No I won't, I'm not that good at comforting someone, Kamala is good at connecting with people, and I don't think it's a good idea to leave you alone Mr. Pym" said Derek causing a small smile to appear on Hank's face.

"Would you listen to me, Derek" he asked Derek, he for his part raised an eyebrow in surprise then nodded.

Hank : "You know, when Cassie was born I was the happiest man in the world, everything was fine for a while of course there were bad times as well as good, until one day I lost the love of my life Janet, because of the secret invasion of the Skrulls, one of them had transformed into me, they had given Janet a growth serum, which had been designed and manipulated to turn her into an explosive and monolithic biological weapon"

Hank : "Janet began to grow to gigantic proportions and emanate very unstable energy, with no time for anything Tony, Reed and I with the pain of my soul managed to create a way to reverse the energy into her to minimize the damage of the explosion with the help of Thor, in the end there was nothing left of her" was the last thing Hank said while two tears fell from his eyes.

'This event should have happened after civil war, it has not even been made public, after finishing with AIM, I will have to investigate everything that has happened' - thought Derek.

Derek : "I understand what it's like to lose loved ones, I saw my parents die, that was the first time I felt so much pain, I felt useless, weak, anger, many kinds of emotions, I don't know, if it can compare to what you feel, but I want you to know that Cassie, is not at all weak or narrow minded, I know you are afraid that she will be exposed to the world of heroes, but you must stop running away and talk to her about all this, if you don't want her to be in danger then teach her, train her, you are the best teacher she could have, besides being her father and remember you are not alone Hank" said Derek getting up and start walking with Lucy on his head

But before leaving he could hear "Thank you" from Hank.

Lucy: "Derek your heartbeat was racing for a moment, are you ok?"

Lucy asked, noticing that Derek was a little strange while talking to Hank, "Yes I'm fine, just some memories came suddenly" without saying more he went to the room they lent him, and start with his daily routine of push-ups, squats, sit-ups and running a few kilometers with a 15 ton metal block on his back

Once he finished he continued with his elemental control and manipulation, increasing his progress

After that he took out the Digimon egg and began to feed it with his blood and mana for a full hour feeling a little dizzy from the loss of blood, with no other option he bought a potion to regenerate the lost blood, when he felt refreshed he decided it was time to practice the Stily Niko, besides wanting to discover the combinations of each style.

Without realizing the time already very late, everything was dark, Derek walked through the corridors, while he had a leg of pork in his hand and give it a bite, which he bought from the system

Since he could not take any food, because when he reached the dining room everything was empty, being close to his room he managed to catch the silhouette of a woman through those dark corridors thanks to his thermal vision but that was not enough to know who she was, but when he caught her scent, he knew who she was.
