CHAPTER - XIV

Once Derek was fully awake thanks to Lucy and his system, he decided to check his system notifications while doing his personal hygiene.

The first notification he decided to open was about Stark's mission in which he received the plans of the Mark 1 the first armor that Tony Stark made in a cave.

The second thing he received was the unlocking of another function of the system in which the categories Respect, Friendship and Affection are found.

(System show me my relation with others and tell me how it works) Derek commanded the system mentally showing Derek a list with the following names.

Once Derek knew how it works he got very nervous knowing how Kamala feels about him and although he still wasn't very nervous about it he decided to look at the third reward of the mission to distract himself from this issue, which gave him a choice of the following production skills, Alchemist, Blacksmith and Runesmith, of which he can only choose two.

(Wait, why isn't the skill Engineer in the options?) he asked the system, which instead of answering the question just made another notification appear in front of him.

*BECAUSE HOST HAVE ALREADY FULFILLED THE REQUIREMENTS BY CREATING AND IMPROVING A VERY HIGH TECH WEAPON AND HAVE ALREADY EARNED THE ENGINEER SKILL*.

Although Derek felt embarrassed about the time he also felt happy because he gained a free skill without knowing it, at the end Derek chose the skills Blacksmith and Runesmith.

Once he chose them he received a lot of information in his brain about how to better process metals to their maximum level of purity and with runesmith he improved more his knowledge about runes when creating objects, weapons, armors and even technology.

Once he finished sorting the information he received from the two skills, Derek saw that in the notifications icon he still had three unchecked, when he opened them he saw that they were the three random boxes he received in the last days of the daily missions, in the end he decided to open them all at once.

He was a bit surprised, because he received the random boxes, which surprised him a lot, but in the end he had to accept the rewards and save them in his inventory and get out of the shower quickly to get dressed and go to the hangar where everyone is waiting for him.

A few minutes we can see Derek entering the hangar, to see that everyone is already there and Tony in his armor.

Derek : "Hey guys, from what I can see the situation is serious enough to call me with such urgency, so much so that Tony is already in his new armor."

Tony : "That's right kid Jarvis just intercepted one of AIM's satellites and discovered two things, the first that in a secret lab in Manhattan in which they are experimenting with my technology and the Ark reactor to create weapons against inhumans or any being with powers, and the second is that they have discovered a resistance camp which is near this area and they plan to attack it in a few hours."

Derek : "I see, tell me what you plan to do?."

Tony : "Well as we are short staffed at the moment we will have to split into two groups in the first group will be Derek and I will take care of the Manhattan Lab, while you two will be in charge of helping the resistance and if all goes well we can form an alliance against AIM."

"I'm fine with that, what do you say you Kamala" Derek asked her, to see what she thought.

"Actually I'm a little nervous as I will be meeting other inhumans, so all the more reason I want to help them" she said with total seriousness, making three men in the group smile for her.

"Alright since everyone already agrees with my plan get ready, you have twenty minutes to prepare" once Tony walked away with Bruce, Derek approached Kamala.

Derek : "Kamala this mission will be more dangerous than the previous ones, this time AIM will be fully prepared to capture inhumans or kill them, and before you say anything, I'm not going to try to convince you not to go, I know you will go anyway."

Derek : "So take this I made them in my spare time while I was helping Tony, they are bracelets you can use them to defend yourself from energy and physical attacks, when they are fully charged with energy they will glow and you can create an energy shield when you hit them."

Derek : "And lastly these are gloves also made with absorbent metal and don't worry they have the function of adjusting to the size of the person wearing them, just promise you will wear them so I won't be too worried, about what might happen."

"Thank you Derek, I promise to use them" Kamala said to Derek, while hugging him tightly, she is very happy for the gift he gave her, even reluctant she stops hugging him and turned around with a smile.

Derek could only smile seeing that Kamala's affection for him went up more, he decided that some other time he would have to talk to Kamala about their feelings for each other, but not now, and without further ado he decided to go to his room, to buy some potions for health and stamina.

By the time he finished buying everything he needed for this mission seventeen minutes had already passed, realizing how fast the time passed, he headed to the QUINJET where Tony was waiting for him.

Tony : "Alright kid I see you're ready."

"I'm always ready Tony, the question is are you ready" Derek told him seeing the smug smile on his face with his new armor.

"Kid I'm always ready, Jarvis you know what to do" Tony smiled at him, then ordered Jarvis, but at that the familiar sound appeared as Derek receives a mission.

*SABOTAGE AND DESTRUCTION MISSION*.

- DESTROY THE ARK REACTOR IN MANHATTAN AND STEAL ALL OF AIM'S INFORMATION ABOUT THE STARK-TECHNOLOGY EXPERIMENTS.
