Standing in a rocky area, two Gohans stood apart, their similarity uncanny but with clear differences. One, an older Gohan with a firm posture and sharp gaze, wore an orange gi, while a younger Gohan stood not far from him, looking visibly confused by the situation.
"The truth is, I come from the future," I began, my voice steady. "I am Gohan, but six years into the future."
"Huh!?" Goku's eyes widened in shock, his usual carefree demeanor momentarily faltering.
"From the future... that explains your appearance," Piccolo said, his eyes narrowing in thought. "But you didn't come back just for nothing, did you? Was it to kill Frieza?"
"No, not at all," I answered. "Dad should have taken care of Frieza and his father, but for some reason, they arrived before him." I chose not to mention Goku's Instant Transmission. I wanted to handle Frieza myself.
"Well, I learned a new technique during my journey," Goku chimed in, his usual excitement returning. He explained how he escaped Namek and was rescued by the Yardrats, who taught him the Instant Transmission.
After Goku finished his explanation, Bulma jumped in, her curiosity evident. "So, why did you come here, Gohan?"
My expression darkened. "I came to warn you all about a great danger. Three years from now, powerful enemies will appear at 10:30 am on Papaya Island." I paused, my face growing grim as I looked at each of them. "These enemies are extremely powerful. In my timeline, they killed everyone—Vegeta, Piccolo, Tien, Chiaotzu, Krillin, Yamcha..."
The impact of my words rippled through the group, silence taking hold as their expressions shifted from confusion to disbelief.
"Me, the Prince of all Saiyans, killed?" Vegeta growled, breaking the silence, his voice full of skepticism and rage. "What are these enemies?"
"They are androids," I replied. "Created by a scientist from the old Red Ribbon Army. He hated you, Dad, and created these monstrosities that only spread destruction."
Goku scratched his head, looking slightly unsure. "Gohan, you said they killed everyone, but you didn't mention me. Where was I during all of this?"
I looked down, the weight of the memory pressing on me. "Dad... even before the androids appeared... you... you died." My voice cracked slightly as I revealed the truth.
"What!? Dad dies!?" my younger self cried out, his voice trembling with fear and confusion.
"Goku... dying?" Bulma's voice was barely above a whisper, her shock shared by Piccolo and Tien, their faces reflecting the disbelief that someone like Goku could meet such a fate.
Even Vegeta looked visibly shaken, his prideful demeanor faltering. "Kakarot... dying..."
Goku's eyes widened in disbelief. "I died...? So I didn't get to fight them?" He sounded disappointed, his natural fighting spirit unshaken by his supposed fate.
I nodded grimly. "Yes, you died long before the androids appeared—a heart virus. It took us all by surprise, and at that time, there was no cure." I then turned to Bulma, offering her a small smile. "But you, Bulma—or rather, your future self—being the genius that she is, helped us develop a cure."
Bulma blushed slightly at the compliment, but she tried to play it cool. "Oh, well, of course! I'm a genius, after all!"
I took out a small vial, handing it to Piccolo. "Please, Piccolo, make sure Dad takes this when the first symptoms appear."
Piccolo accepted the vial, nodding. "No problem, Gohan. I'll make sure of it."
"Thanks, Gohan," Goku said, smiling warmly. "I guess I can be a bit clumsy at times."
Now came the most difficult part. I had to warn them about all the androids, including Cell, and I had already decided to mix some truth with lies.
"There are a total of six androids," I continued. "16, 17, 18, 19, 20... and the most dangerous of them all—Cell." I paused, letting the weight of the names sink in. "Since I've already changed the past, I can't say for sure who will appear first, but know that 19 and 20 are the weakest. Don't let your guard down, though, they can steal your energy, and they're cunning."
Yamcha's face paled slightly. "Steal energy... that sounds like trouble."
'Yes, Yamcha, real trouble,' I thought, remembering the close call he had.
"Next, there are 16, 17, and 18, they're much stronger, and with unlimited stamina. But the most dangerous of them all is Cell."
Vegeta scoffed, crossing his arms. "Are you sure these machines are as dangerous as you say?"
"Oi, Vegeta, not cool!" Goku chastised, frowning at him.
I fixed Vegeta with a cold stare. "You'll see for yourself. In my timeline, your arrogance cost you dearly. You thought Super Saiyan was the peak of power, and you were the first to die."
Vegeta's eyes narrowed, but he stayed silent, his jaw clenched.
"Cell isn't an immediate threat," I continued. "He was an abandoned project, but Dr. Gero's supercomputer completed him. He's made up of cells from all of us, including Frieza and King Cold. In my timeline, he wasn't ready for another 20 years, but he found a way to use a time machine to come back." I paused, choosing my next words carefully. "He came here to absorb Androids 17 and 18 to reach his perfect form. In my timeline, I was strong enough to stop him before he succeeded, but he's cunning and dangerous. I'm telling you now because I believe a version of Cell will come here too. So will you stop him before he succeeds ?"
Goku rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Wow, Gohan, this is a lot to take in. Honestly, I don't think we should act before they make their move... it just doesn't sit right with me. But I'm not alone in this decision." He looked around at everyone, seeking their input.
Piccolo spoke up, his eyes fierce. "That Cell sounds like a real threat. But if we take care of 17 and 18 before he arrives, we can stop him from reaching his perfect form. I say we train, prepare ourselves, and take them down when they appear. After that, we can deal with Cell."
Vegeta nodded, his arms crossed. "I agree with the Namekian this time. If anyone thinks of doing something cowardly, I'll deal with them myself."
Tien chimed in, determination evident in his eyes. "I want to test my strength as well. My growth has stagnated, and I need a challenge."
Chiaotzu nodded in agreement.
Bulma sighed in frustration. "Are you all crazy!? Gohan, please talk some sense into them!" She looked from me to my younger self. "Little Gohan, can you say something to them too?"
I smiled slightly. "I'm afraid it's their decision, Bulma. But I will add this, if you want to face these enemies, you need to prepare yourselves properly. Dad, Vegeta, you both need to master Super Saiyan and push beyond it. Young me, you need to become strong enough to stand beside them, you have an unimaginable potential. Piccolo, you should consider fusing back with Kami to regain your full strength. And Tien, you should explore your true heritage. I've heard that you're descended from an alien race known as the Triclops."
Everyone seemed to take in my words seriously, nodding in understanding.
I continued, "And let me make it clear, Cell, in his perfect form, will likely be stronger than I am now. You must train harder than ever and stay vigilant."
Piccolo nodded. "Alright, Gohan. You've made yourself clear. The rest of you, if you're not prepared to face what's coming, stay out of the way. Otherwise, you'll only slow us down."
Goku smiled at me. "Gohan, you're welcome to train with us if you want." Gohan and piccolo standing beside him.
I shook my head. "I appreciate the offer, but there are things I need to do here, with the Dragon Balls. I need to help my timeline." I turned to leave, waving to my father. "See you later, Dad."
Goku waved back, his smile full of warmth. "Take care, son."
As I arrived at Capsule Corp, I saw Vegeta already training in the gravity room. Bulma was sitting on the second-floor terrace, enjoying a cup of coffee.
"Hey, Bulma!" I called out, landing on the terrace beside her.
"Oh, Gohan! Do you need something?" she asked, curious.
"I need the Dragon Radar," I replied. "There are no Dragon Balls in my timeline, and I couldn't find New Namek. The past is my only chance."
Bulma nodded. "I actually have four Dragon Balls already. I'll give them to you. Are you going to ask where New Namek is?"
I smiled, trying to mask my true intentions. "Something like that."
Later, Bulma handed me the four Dragon Balls and the Dragon Radar. I set off to find the remaining Dragon Balls, feeling a strange excitement bubbling inside me. It was exhilarating, something my otaku side had always dreamed of, searching for the Dragon Balls.
I found the Four-Star Dragon Ball near Orange City, the Seven-Star in a dense forest, and the Three-Star in a vast desert. Once I had all seven, I made my way to a secluded area, far from any prying eyes, and laid the Dragon Balls on the ground.
Taking a deep breath, I called out, "Arise, Shenron! Grant my wish!"
The Dragon Balls began to glow, and the sky darkened as Shenron emerged. He was even more magnificent in person, with an aura that radiated power.
"You have summoned me. State your wish, and I shall grant it," Shenron intoned, his voice echoing across the barren land.
I stepped forward, my heart pounding. "I wish to have the Kai Kai ability of Kibito, the assistant to the Supreme Kai!"
Shenron's eyes glowed a brilliant red. "Your wish is within my power. It shall be done."
With a final flash of red light, Shenron disappeared, and the Dragon Balls scattered across the world once more. Instantly, I felt knowledge of the technique flood my mind—Kai Kai, the ability to teleport anywhere, provided I knew its location.
However, knowing the location wasn't as simple as just recalling it, in most cases, you needed to have physically been there or at least have a detailed understanding of where it was situated. So, for a place like the Otherworld, I couldn't just know where it was, I actually needed to have been there myself. But if the place was actually within my sight I could go there easily.
I grinned, eager to test my new power. Concentrating on the rocky area where I'd first landed with the time machine, I felt a surge of energy as I vanished from my spot and reappeared in an instant. I looked around, recognizing the landscape.
"It worked! Hell yeah!" I exclaimed, feeling a rush of excitement. Now, my next step was to contact King Kai and learn the location of New Namek.
Teleporting to Kami's Lookout, I greeted Kami, who hadn't yet fused with Piccolo. I had advised him to do so, but he seemed to have held off, likely not ready yet, but it worked in my favor as I needed access to the Dragon Balls. I should have probably told him to wait, if he had fused with him, I would have been screwed.
"Kami, you probably know who I am," I began respectfully. "I need your help to go to King Kai's planet."
Kami nodded thoughtfully. "I see no reason to deny your request, Gohan. However, you will need to convince King Yemma to let you pass. Only your father, who was resurrected there, has been granted such permission before."
I smiled confidently. "I'll convince him."
Kami chuckled softly. "Very well, Gohan. Good luck."
He placed a hand on my shoulder, and in an instant, we were in front of King Yemma. Kami did the talking, explaining my request, and to my surprise, King Yemma granted me permission without much fuss.
'Guess it pays to be the son of Goku,' I thought, amused.
Transforming into a Super Saiyan, I sprinted down Snake Way, reaching the end in just under twenty minutes. I gazed up at King Kai's tiny planet, a sense of nostalgia washing over me. With a powerful leap, I landed safely, the ten-times gravity barely registering after all my training. There it was, King Kai's small house and his famous red car. I walked towards the house, noticing a monkey in the tree nearby. 'Probably Bubbles,' I thought as I saw him hopping around, doing whatever monkeys do.
I knocked on the door, calling out, "Excuse me, Kaio-sama!"
I heard an old voice from inside. "Yes, yes, I'm coming," King Kai said as he shuffled to the door. When he opened it, his antennae perked up in recognition. "You're Gohan, right? Goku's son? I watched a lot of your battles on Namek, but aren't you a bit older than you should be?"
I smiled awkwardly. I wasn't keen on explaining that I was an older version of Gohan from the future. "Yes, Kaio-sama, it's a bit complicated. But right now, I need your help. Could you help me locate New Namek? I need to see Dende."
King Kai adjusted his glasses and looked thoughtful. "Hmm, New Namek, you say? Sure, I can do that." He closed his eyes and focused for a moment, his antennae twitching. After a brief pause, he nodded. "Got it! I've located New Namek. Let me give you the coordinates."
As he shared the coordinates, something strange happened, I instantly knew where it was, as if the knowledge had fused into my mind. Perhaps it was a perk of Kai Kai, the teleportation technique I had recently acquired.
"Thank you, Kaio-sama!" I said with a bow before vanishing from the small planet.
In an instant, I found myself on New Namek. The landscape was serene, with green grass and blue trees stretching far into the distance. The Namekians, however, were immediately on guard, eying me warily as I appeared out of nowhere.
"Who are you, intruder?! How did you find us?" one of them demanded, stepping forward with a stern expression.
Before I could respond, a familiar voice cut through the tension. "Wait! I know him!" It was Dende, and he approached with a smile. "It's okay, everyone. This is Gohan, he's a friend."
The wary looks softened, and the other Namekians relaxed. Dende gestured for me to follow him, leading me towards the elder's home.
As we entered, the elder looked up, recognition in his eyes. "Gohan, Goku's son. It's good to see you again," he said kindly.
"Thank you for welcoming me here, Elder," I replied respectfully. "I came because I really need the Dragon Balls."
The elder nodded with understanding. "You may use them, Gohan. Dende will assist you." He gestured to Dende, who immediately set off to gather the Dragon Balls. I waited, watching as the massive Namekian Dragon Balls were brought before us.
Dende led me to an open area away from the village, ensuring we wouldn't disturb anyone working. As he placed the last Dragon Ball on the ground, they began to glow, and the sky darkened.
"Porunga, arise!" Dende called out in the Namekian language.
In an instant, the massive form of Porunga, the Namekian Eternal Dragon, appeared, towering over us. His deep voice rumbled as he spoke, "You who have gathered the Dragon Balls, state your wishes. I shall grant them."
