A Different Perspective

A young man can be seen leaving the Blackthorn Security Company with a nostalgic look on his face even though he hasn't worked in the Company for 2 weeks. It is evening now and the sunset can be seen on the horizon, not clearly but the vision is much better than from a place called Backlund.

The man has just said farewell to his colleagues as he was told to by his new superior. Truth be told, while he is grateful for what his new superior has done for him he isn't really happy.

It has nothing to do with his superior though. It's because what is eating him inside and making him unhappy is that he wouldn't be able to see his family and friends from his previous life.

Of course the young man heading towards a public carriage to go home is Klein Moretti. He was named Zhou Mingrui in his previous life when he lived in China.

But suddenly after performing a certain ritual and falling asleep, he found himself in his current host's dead body.

After transmigrating into original Klein's dead body, Zhou Mingrui received original Klein's memories with only the last few days of his life being very vague.

Zhou Mingrui wasn't thrilled by the situation obviously like certain dumb isekai protagonists because he actually cared about his old life. So he obviously thought about how to return to his "previous world".

After talking to his "new" sister Melissa about certain things, he went out to find some simple materials to perform the ritual he performed before his transmigration.

Once there he met a fortune teller who told him that his present was represented by The Fool card which represented new beginnings. Of course seeing Tarot Cards also gave him the idea that there were other transmigrators beside him, and most of his suspicion was on a certain "Demoness doesn't taste bad" Emperor. (A/N: I just couldn't resist adding that 😂)

After getting the materials he performed the ritual but instead of sending him back as he hoped the ritual would. It brought him above a gray fog.

Certain events transpired after that which led to the formation of Tarot Club and him learning about Beyonders. The Tarot Club was formed because of his "awe inspiring might" as a mysterious senior called Mr Fool which he chose as his alias along with the members Miss Justice and Mr Hanged Man.

Also from that moment on Zhou Mingrui decided to live his life as Klein Moretti until he finds the way to get back to his "previous world".

What Zhou Mingrui didn't realize back then was that the moment he transmigrated and then received original Klein's memories, he wasn't the old Zhou anymore. He was an amalgamation of old Zhou and Klein from that moment on, so even if he wanted to act otherwise he was going to have to care about his new family whether he likes it or not.

After reminiscing about the past two weeks while sitting in the public carriage, he smiles a little because he realizes that he at least has one family left.

Last night when the man named Maximilian Hendrix told him about so many things, he was mostly in denial. But when the man poured cold water on him by telling him about some high level secrets, he agreed to the trade the man proposed but only after making sure with divination.

'I know divination isn't omnipotent especially with a man like him on the other side of it. But to be honest it was more for the sake of my sanity if anything else.'

After that his new superior left in a hurry because of some urgent matter that only he knew about.

Klein contacted the Tingen Nighthawks and told Captain Dunn about the address of the now dead fugitive Ince Zangwill. They quickly secured the dead body along with some special characteristic that gave Klein a feeling of death.

Klein then handled the situation as his new superior wanted and the night ended like that.

Klein also noticed the admiration in Melissa's eyes for Maximilian but if that's because of him looking rich, acting gentlemanly or something else. Only Melissa knows.

He also told his siblings about himself being a Beyonder and what kind of being Maximilian is. He also told them about Maximilian's offer about making them Beyonders which they were happy to accept despite his warnings about madness and death.

They told him that family should protect each other in times like these.

That was the moment Klein truly accepted them as family and not some substitute for his original one.

He got off the carriage when it reached Daffodil Street and then went to his house.

He is still unhappy about his old family after all they were his family and are probably now dead for who knows how long. But at the very least he is not alone in this normal but terrifying world.

Humans are very complex creatures indeed. They need social interactions to keep their sanity. Otherwise after some isolation from people certain mental problems start occurring until the person becomes completely insane.

And there are many people in history who became mad because of such things.

After returning from the castle above the gray fog to the land of darkness only illuminated naturally by flashes of lightning.

The powerful demigod sat down in his room with a thoughtful expression on his face. He started thinking about how this gathering that this powerful being is organizing might help his City of Silver.

As the Chief, he always has to think about the city first and his life second. Most of the people in the city are like that, after all they wouldn't have survived all these years if people were divided and not united on this hellish land where even food is scarce and just eaten for the sake of living.

"From the words of Lord Error, the land we are living on has truly been forsaken. But that's really not news to us since no prayers have been answered." He mutters with melancholy.

"Perhaps through this gathering, I might find us a way out of this place? I am being too hopeful about this but having some hope is better than having none."

Unbeknownst to the muttering middle-aged looking old man, a certain man in the monocle on his right eye who is in a holding cell in the underground has noticed the aura on him.

"Quite bold of you. But this is getting interesting." The man says while adjusting the monocle on his right eye and sitting in the cell filled with darkness with no fear on his face. Instead there is amusement written all over his face.

"It seems the time of our meeting will be earlier than expected." He says with an innocent smile. "I wonder what other surprises you have in store for me, after all unexpected things are the most fun!"

Initially I wanted to write a longer chapter but then I changed my mind and finished it here since I feel like this was a good stopping point for the chapter.

Honestly for the last few days I was thinking about some things and decided to reduce the size of the Harem. At least I decided to remove 1 person from it, because I thought it would be difficult to write her in. Also it's quite hard to write a satisfactory harem even with that ring because of how the common sense of this world is quite high. Honestly if this was DxD or even Nasuverse, this would have been way easier. Only time will tell who will be in the harem or not honestly. Of course the ones who have already been targeted will be in it.

Anyway Amon is definitely going to get a good surprise. I wonder if he will be able to keep his composure then. And believe me it will be quite good.
