The Power Of A Raging Monster Called Athena Dawn

'The Rising...'

The Lion finished changing as it morphed into its true form becoming Athena's weapon. It was a large maul. The handle was long making it a two handed weapon and the metal was a dark red. At the head of the hammer was the red metal head of a lion its mouth opened in a roaring gesture. Flames began to slowly seep out of the mouth as she twirled it around.

"Aka Netsu..." Athena said twirling her weapon around. "A Hero Class Artifact imbued with Heat based magic." Lightning began to seep off of her body as her single yellow eye stared at the man.

"W... Whoa... So she has Lightning magic and she's using a weapon with fire magic?" Oliver asked.

"Oh. Athena doesn't have Lightning Magic." Davi grinned.

"What?"

"You'll find out..."

"I hope you're ready." Athena said flames pouring out of the mouth of the lion. "Because you're going to be fighting me now."

Pako let out a roar and jumped into the air spinning around and clasping his hands together making a large electric lance which he stabbed down. "I'll turn you to ash! Ril Lightning Blast!"

Oliver's eyes went wide as he stepped back. For a moment his eyes seemed to glow as his body began to shake. "T... The mana coming off of him is..."

"Wait can you sense it?" Davi asked raising an eyebrow.

30% of the Population had access to Arcane Energy. Most of those people were Nobles. With Arcane Energy they could use it either Internally to boost their stats upping their senses, speed, and power, or Externally allowing them to throw their Arcane Energy out in the form of spells with their Magic Type. However that was all they could really do with it. For most Arcane Energy was something that could just boost them or let them use a Magic Type. However there were rare people born with Magic Skills, which allowed them to use their mana in certain ways such as Oliver. Some of these Skills were Mana Sensing which allowed a person to see and sense mana. And then there were Graces which were even rarer than skills and didn't rely on the user being skilled rather it used the mana of the world.

"Y... Yeah I can sense Mana as my skill." Oliver said slowly.

"Wait you have a rare magic type, and a skill?"

"I also have a Grace."

"Oh... No wonder they took you. You're like a super secret rare USSR in a game!" Davi said with wide eyes.

Oliver shook his head for a moment. "I can explain later but we need to move!" He said as Athena fired towards Pako. "Tell your friend to move!" He yelled out in a panic. "That dudes overflowing with Arcane Energy! He's going to vaporize her if she gets hit with that-"

"Relax," Davi said casually.

"But-"

"Just watch. Athena is... Strong." Athena flipped through the air as the beam came towards her. She reached up grabbing her black eye patch and pulling it off. She had an eye underneath the eye patch, meaning she wasn't blind. "Also..." Davi said giving a smirk as he folded his arms. Athena's left eye was that strange rainbow colored yellow eye. This one though was a deep shade of purple and didn't look human. It looked more like the eye of a cat. Small purple flames seemed to slowly flow out of the eye as she opened it. "Magic like Lightning... That doesn't work on Athena. Not when she absorbs it at least. That last time was a fluke."

Pako stabbed both his hands forward as the lighting literally exploded in front of him with a bright blue flash unleashing a massive beam of hyper death right in Athena's face as the beam washed over the girl and turned the very sand into glass as the beam blew up the beach. There was so much heat and power coming off of it that Oliver felt himself be raised up. He reached out wrapping his arms around Davi as he gave a loud yell. Davi remained standing a knowing smile on his face.

The beam cleared showing Athena standing perfectly still. Small gust of steam seemed to rise off of her body over and over again. Other than that she was perfectly fine not even harmed in the slightest.

"W... What!" Peko said in horror and shock. "How... How the hell did you do that!" He yelled. He brought his hands up pushing them together as a ball of lightning formed and he thrusted his arms forward sending out another massive blue energy wave. "Row Lightning Barrage! Die! Die, die, die, die, die! Die!" Several smaller beams all fired out of his palms all slamming into energy but not actually harming her. In fact it seemed to just be pulled into her flesh...

Athena's hand came out of the energy wave grabbing Pako by the front of his shirt. Everyone but Davi stared in shock as the lightning slowly began to die out. No... Not die out...

The energy was being pulled into Athena getting smaller and smaller as her skin seemed to soak it up like a sponge in water.

"Sorry." Athena said holding her maul in one hand, and her enemy in her other. "But now that I've turned on my eye Wind, and Lightning magic won't work. I can absorb that. So you're pretty screwed." Small red scales seemed to grow on her body. Starting from her arms and legs they became dragon like as black claws began to jut out of them. "Oh yeah... Thanks for the Mana," Athena smirked.

"You! Absorbed my magic! How dare you-" He let out a gasp as he stared at her eye. Pako's eyes were wide as he stared at the purple eye in horror now up close. "T... That's a... A Dark Eater! An Unholy abomination made by Sapporo the leader of Dragon Dwellers! W... Why does a mere child have something like that!"

"The Dark Eater known as Draconic Form..." Athena said slowly as they eye lit up. "Let's just say it's not by my choice that it was inserted into me. I suppose you can say I have a story like Oliver's. One of the reasons why I'm not going to hold back."

"W... What do you mean your story!" Pako asked fear entering his voice.

"When I was a little girl I was captured and sold as a slave to Dragon Dwellers just like you were going to do to Oliver." Athena said her eye lighting up as Pako's filled with fear.

"W... Wait!"

Athena threw him high into the air as his body spun around and began to fall back down. She grabbed her maul with both her hands as flames began to pour out of the mouth of the beast. Lightning crackled around her arms covering the weapon. "Row Lightning Weapon!" She announced as the flames and electricity mixed together covering the maul. Then she stepped forward and swung as hard as she could right as Pako dropped down. The weapon slammed into his face at a high speed and in a massive blast Pako was blown across the beach slamming across the sand as he plowed right through the boat splitting it in half as the slaves slid out now free.

"I win!" Athena announced.

"A... Athena... Athena can... Absorb magic." Oliver asked with wide eyes.

"That's right." Davi smirked giving a large shark toothed grin.

"W... Who the heck are you two!"

"Just a couple of people heading to Oleander to take the entrance exam." Davi smirked. "I'll be honest though. I didn't know Athena was so strong... I mean I trained for years with my Grandfather who used to be an Arcane Hunter to get to my point."

"W... Well Athena's got to have a strong Grace right! I'm so jealous." Oliver laughed. "I mean my Grace isn't good for combat and just let's me break certain types of magic!"

"Oh it's not a Grace that gives her that power."

"It's a skill? I mean Skills are rare but usually aren't strong... Most Skills are just Mana Sensing, or you're able to learn something faster... Graces are the things with broken powers..."

"It's not a Skill either." Davi grinned. "I guess think of it like an Item that has been placed inside of her... It's complicated."

"O... Oh? W... Well what about you?"

"Hmm?"

"You have to be really strong to right?"

"Of course I am!" Davi announced. "I trained with my Grampa for years! And my sister Gloria caught me a lot as well!"

"So you've got to have a rare kind of Magic Type right! Or a Skill, or a Grace!"

"Nope!" Davi announced proudly. "I don't have any Skills, nor a Grace! I also have no idea what my Magic Type is or how to use spells!"

"Wait so you can only use Internal Magic to boost yourself? That isn't very impressive?"

"Well... I do have my Two De-"

"Davi!" Athena yelled walking towards them now holding her stuffed red lion as the maul reverted back. She grabbed her eye patch and slipped it over her eye. "I'm done here. Let's go. I set all the people in the boat free and told them to leave the beach and head to the guard station."

"Nice!" Davi said giving a thumbs up.

'These two...' Oliver thought as he hugged Cath closer to him. 'They're both so strong... And Davi said he wants to be an Arcane Hunter... Compared to the two of them I don't have a right to even compete... They did what I said I would... They're so... Strong...'

"Sleepy." Athena yawned her eyes rolling into the back of her head as she fell forward into Davi's arms and she began to snore.

"What happened!" Oliver asked in a panic.

"Oh don't worry about that." Davi said throwing Athena over his shoulder as if she was a sack of potatoes. "Her Dark Eater is a lot of negative magic that rolls through her and since it can change parts of her body it takes a ton of energy out of her. She usually passes out when she does that stuff... But in return she gets one hell of a power up!"

"O... Oh I see..." Oliver nodded. He frowned for a moment before slowly looking away. "S... So you're going to Oleander right?"

"That's right? We're going to be heading there to take the Arcane Hunter entrance exam and try and get into a Guild."

"C... Could I join you?" Oliver asked slowly tapping his finger tips together. "O... Only if you and Athena are both okay with it of course! A... And I'm not expect special treatment of anything! I... I'm not that strong I'll admit, and my mana control is terrible b... But I have the Mana Skill Mana Sensing which allows me to sense Mana, and I have a Grace called The Grace of Undoing... It allows me to undo Mana such as binding Mana, trapping Mana, barriers, and the like, but... Well Graces don't require any skill to use but I dislike, but I'll of course use it if you two want me to so I guess what I'm saying is... Please allow me to join you both!" Oliver said bowing his head as Cath the cat set on it like a hat.

"You want to join us?" Davi asked frowning. His shark teeth slowly twisted up to a smirk for a moment. "Oh I get it. You think you have a shot with Athena right? Well trust me she's a raging bitc-"

Athena's fist flew out slamming into Davi and knocking him over. "Sleepy..." She yawned out burying her face into Davi's neck.

"I rest my case..." Davi said slowly standing back up as he held her.

"S... Still." Oliver nodded his head for a second. "I want to join you both. I want to be strong."

"Strong huh?"

"Yes. So please... I have to get stronger... A lot stronger... I need to reach that sword and with the power of this demon blade I'll do it!" Oliver announced grabbing the golden sword on his back.

"I mean I'm fine with you joining and I guess your dream is cool and all but you should really know Oliver that, that sword isn't one of the ten demon bla-"

Flames exploded out of the boat from behind the group. They slowly turned around and saw all the captives were now free and running off in a panic. And standing at the top of the boat was a very, very pissed off looking, Kaen who glared down at the group of three below.

"You three are..." Flames began to hiss off of his body covering the boat as he got a crazed look in his eyes. "Dead!"

"I totally forgot about him!" Oliver said with wide eyes. Kaen dropped down and began breathing heavily flames rolling off of him. "W... What do we do."

Davi stepped forward still holding Athena as he have his typical shark tooth grin. "You're pretty strong. Guess I'm going to use my secret move on you."

"I'm going to melt the flesh from your bones and turn your skull into my beer mug."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Then in that case..." Davi spun around his other arm coming out as he grabbed Oliver and threw him over his other shoulder. "It's time to run away!" He announced.

"That's your secret move!"
