A man on a podium speaks towards the mass of people gathered in front of him and the trillions of people watching through the quantum net.

"Today is the day we have worked for, for hundreds of years. After we've reached the status of Class One civilization over three hundred years ago. We announce the first ship that will be able to travel past the borders of our Galaxy. New horizons will open before us as we keep exploring the mysteries of our universe. Today it's my honor to present to you the people of the Galactic Aurora Federation in the name of President Carter who has given me this honor. The new ship is equipped with the latest technological advancements. Its individuality and superiority have given the need for a new class of ship. Behold the Chaos Class, Spatial Super-Battle Carrier Devastation."

As the man finished his speech he turned and motioned to the large glass pane behind him as a new ship was slowly illuminated by hundreds of floodlights.

As the ship was revealed the people in the crowd clamored in awe.

The people were amazed and the presenter was smiling as the people's yells made his blood boil in excitement.

The presenter continued

"The ship with dimensions of over 10km long by 7km wide and a 2km height is equipped with 38 antimatter reactor cores.

Providing power for the ship to function almost forever without the need to refuel. The ship is equipped with over 1000 plasmic combustion cannons. Over 600 missile ports, 400 quantum resonance guns, and 56 ION cannons. It carries hundreds of Antimatter Bombs as well as Red-matter Bombs. The ship has bombs Ahoy if we are being honest. However, its defense system doesn't lag behind every square inch of the ship is covered by a foot thick Carbonic Titanium Alloy as well as surrounded by Plasmic Field Shields Capable of withstanding 5 gigatons of force per square inch. Now that's a tough nut to crack. However, let's not forget about its carrier function. The ship is equipped with 18 spatial distortion hangars capable of fitting thousands of Wyvern type fighters as well as two Stellar class battlecruisers. As well as other minor ships. However, as a ship designed to explore the universe, it will be long before the ship ever sets foot again in the Milky-Way as such everything needed to keep the ship going is on the ship from distortion farms to mining drills. As well as distortion habitats within the ship capable of housing over 100000 crewmen and women. The quantum computer on the ship is equipped with class 3 AI capable of assisting the crew. As well as hundreds of data banks containing all of the human data from movies to books to music to plays to anything. As well as anything that may assist in the mission. After all of this let me introduce the Captain of this magnificent ship. The Andromeda Galaxy is located 2.5 million light-years away 25 times the diameter of our Milky Way. At the Devastations top speed of 10,000 SOL's through hypervoid. It would take 250 years for it to reach Andromeda. On course the Crew would be under cryostasis. As such, the length of this mission has required the crew to be relatively young. As such since 20 years ago the Federation has been training 100,000 young men and women to participate in this mission. From this young man and woman, the chosen one to lead this great crew is the one that goes by the name of Niklaus Carter. Yes, the son of the current president of the Aurora Federation has been chosen as the commander of this mission. However, do not doubt his ability or think that he got this position through connections. This young man Graduated Top of his class of the 100,000 elite men and women trained for this mission and the First-mate isn't any less worthy; she was ranked number two just behind Niklaus she goes by the name of Alexandria Smith. These two will lead this mission of exploration and discovery of the great unknown. Now let us celebrate this great day as this ship will depart in two days for the exterior of the New Galaxy."

As the man finished his speech the Holographic Display was shut off.

In the room at the top of the space station, a young man of no more than 20 years old was sitting down with a grave expression on his face.

"Two days, before I set out on this trip that will last all of my life. I wonder what waits for me out there. I wonder what awaits my crew out there. Speaking of the only members of my crew I know of are Jonas the pilot and Jacob the Weaponsmaster. I guess the extra training didn't give me time to socialize. This will be fun."

Niklaus stood up and walked towards the window where he could see the great ship that would be under his command.

He sighed and looked back and walked into the darkness.

2 hours before departure

Niklaus was making his way towards the ship. Next to him were two people. His father, the current president, and his mother the first lady. However, no love or affection was shown during the trip. Niklaus had been taken away at his father's orders the moment he was born for training and genetic optimization. He had hardly ever seen his parents. His entire life was led with the sole purpose of this mission and his parents chose to see him as a son in name only. However, he was treated even more coldly than just in name only. To the extent that he had not spoken more than a few minutes with his father throughout his life and not at all to his mother.

In reality, the only reason they were in the same transport ship was for public opinion.

However, Niklaus had never minded it as he knew nothing of affection or love as he had never received any.

Once the transport ship landed at the port. Niklaus got off and proceeded to the ship not even bothering to bid his farewells. Or the reporters waiting for him. Once he was at the access gate he saw many men and women boarding and loading many different materials onboard the massive ship.

However, one thing that had caught his attention the most was the cry felt sobbing of mothers and fathers saying farewell to their children as they boarded for their unknown trip.

However, one hugging pair of mother and daughter caught his eye the most as they weren't far from him.

The woman was crying while hugging her daughter in her arms who was also tearing up as she said goodbye to her family.

Niklaus just stared for a while at the pair and imagined what an actual hug felt like. However, his stare while not as obviously didn't go unnoticed the girl noticed and so did another guy not far from him.

The girl stared back at him for a while before she turned back around.

However, the guy near him who happened to notice his stare came up to him and said in a low voice as to not be heard

"You shouldn't get any ideas mate. Although she is very beautiful and honestly speaking a bit thick for my tastes but still wouldn't mind going after her. However, I still wouldn't dare as she is the First-mate of the Devastation, Alexandria Smith. "

Niklaus responded in no way restraining his voice

"So that's the First-mate, indeed she is very beautiful. It's surprising though. I never expected such a perfect girl to be the First-mate. I imagined a tough girl with big muscles."

Half-way through his speech, the other guy had quickly retreated as he noticed that the surroundings had quieted down and that the target of their conversation. Was within hearing range of them.

Niklaus however didn't mind and kept talking to him the farther the guy the louder Nikalus spoke. To a point where at one point everybody heard his conversation. The girl in question turned and stared daggers at Niklaus as she was angered by his remarks. She quickly bid her farewells to her mother and approached Niklaus in a threatening way. The people around him made way as to not get dragged down with him.

The guy who he was talking to was halfway up the ship already.

When Niklaus realized the guy he was talking too was boarding the ship he called out to him and calmly went after him.

Meanwhile, the First-mate was chasing after him. Niklaus didn't mind the looks the people around him were giving him.

It didn't take long for the First-mate to reach him.

When she did she called out to him.

"Hey you the one that was talking about me"

Niklaus responded but didn't stop moving forwards towards the ship check-in station where the crew would check-in. The place where the guy he was chasing was currently checking into the ship.

"How may I help you"

he said

The First-mate clearly irritated got next to him and walked next to him and said

"Who do you think you are to talk like that about people behind their back? Do you not know who I am? What is your problem anyways are you some kind of pervert staring at girls. Cause if you are I can have you arrested you know."

Niklaus without a change to his state of mind and a calm tone said

"I'm sorry if I offended you with my words but that is my honest opinion. I think you are beautiful."

The First-mate a bit dazed by his straightforward attitude said

"So you are a pervert ha"

Niklaus the same way responded

"I'm sorry if my stare made you uncomfortable but seeing you and your mother made me wonder."

The First-mate asked

"Made you wonder what?"

Niklaus with same monotone tone responded

"It made me wonder. How a mother's hug feels. Or just a hug in general as I've never experienced either of them."

The First-mate stopped in her feet as his response surprised her. She thought.

[Is this guy being for real. Is he an orphan or something? It makes me feel kind of bad.]

The First-mate caught up and stood in front of Niklaus and said

"I'm sorry I didn't know you felt that way. If you don't mind me asking why have you never received a hug from your mother? Do you not know your mother?"

Niklaus same as always

"I know my mother, it's just that she has never spoken to me, much less hugged me. To answer your doubts. I have never been the recipient of any sort of love or affection. That is why it intrigues me so much."

The First-mate felt even more terrible than before. She didn't even know what to say. [Poor guy this makes me feel even worse]

"I'm sorry for being inconsiderate. I apologize for this. I have to go now I have to take command of the ship until the captain gets here."

The First-mate took her leave without waiting for a response to rid herself of this awkward situation.

Niklaus said in a loud voice

"Don't worry about it, it won't be long."

The First-mate heard him and it just confused her but she didn't dwell too much on it as she just wanted to relieve her awkwardness. She put her hand on the biometric check-in station and checked-in as soon as she did there was a loud announcement. As a monotonous voice said.

"First-mate Alexandria Smith is on board."

The people on the access gate quickly stood in a position to show respect however there was no salute.

Alexandria quickly made her way into the ship. However, she stopped and took one last look at the guy who she had just been talking to.

"I should have asked his name"

At that exact moment, Niklaus put his hand on the biometric scanner, and another announcement quickly resounded.

Alexandria was surprised as she had no idea what the announcement was for.

The monotonous voice quickly said

"Captain Niklaus Carter is now on board."

All those who had just stood in position.

Did it again but this time there was a full-on salute. However, no one knew who they were saluting as no one had ever seen the captain before.

However, when everybody was in doubt their doubt was answered as a holographic projection of a young female appeared in the access gate in front of Niklaus and saluted him and said

"Captain Niklaus Carter, I am Deva, the ship's AI and your interaction hub. I can accomplish any command from anywhere within range."

Niklaus said

"Acknowledged, make a ship-wide transmission."

Deva proceeded with the command

*beep beep*

The shipwide intercoms activated

"A shipwide message from your captain"

Niklaus then proceeded.

"As many of you know my name is Niklaus Carter. I am your captain. Today we embark on a new mission to explore space never explored before, we will be the pioneers. We will uncover the mysteries that lay beyond. This mission holds many things for us however none can be foretold. I tell you all right now that we will accomplish our mission and then we will all get some time off. Everybody to your stations. Make all preparations we set off in 1 hour. I want no one lazing around. Captain out"

The intercoms died and everybody started making their way to their stations.

Everybody that hadn't boarded quickly got on and started making preparations.

Niklaus proceeded into the ship where he caught up to the stunned First-mate.

He said nothing and proceeded onward to the bridge.

Alexandria followed slowly behind him with her head down. She was full of anxiety about what had happened not too long prior.

Niklaus didn't mind as he reached the bridge. Inside he found 10 men and women fiddling about their stations.

Deva soon appeared and said

"Captain on the bridge"

Everybody quickly saluted. Leaving their stations unattended.

Niklaus said

"At ease, everyone back to your stations. I hope this is a one-time thing. I hope you are not foolish enough to leave your stations unattended during an emergency just because I walk in. Deva restrained from announcing my entrance."

"Acknowledged Captain."

Niklaus continued

"I want a full systems check. Engineering I want every bolt and gear analyzed. If you aren't engineering personnel, find something to analyze. Somebody tell me how many crewmen are on board?"

A young woman said

"Captain, all 100,000 crew members are on board."

Niklaus said

"Good, who are you"

The same young woman said.

"My name is Hanna Morris, Head of Operations."

Niklaus said

"Good, I will sooner or later get to know all of you. As of right now, our priority is to get this ship on the road. Once system checks are in order we will depart."

Soon after two men stepped forward and one of them said.

"Captain all systems are in check."

The other then said

"We are ready to depart at your notice sir"

Niklaus said

"Good, what are your names?"

The first man responded.

My name is Kyle Bennet, Head of Engineering"

The second followed

"I'm Samuel Houston, Head of Science"

Niklaus said

"Good back to your stations. Remove all Anchors."

One of the officers pushed some buttons and soon the 30 massive anchors holding the ship in place lifted. letting the ship float in the vacuum of space.

Niklaus said

"Ignite all impulse thrusters. We are moving forwards. Once we clear the station. Set a course for the galactic border. Afterward, go sublight speed. Once we leave planetary orbit, activate the Alcubierre drive. Once we leave the system, open a tear, and go into the hyper void."

Everybody in the bridge responded

""Roger, Captain""

Soon the ship had left orbit. The impulse thrusters propelled the ship forward at over 10000m/s but that was yet not fast enough.

Jonas said

"Course set, destination galactic borders"

"Engaging Lightspeed drive"

As soon the drive came online the ship disappeared leaving a trail of light behind.

"We're on empty space preparing to engage alcubierre drive"

"Alcubierre Drive is online"

Soon the space around the ship began to distort as the ship was soon moving 6 times the speed of light and still getting faster as they were not moving through space any longer, instead, they were moving with it"

Niklaus spoke

" How long do we have until we leave the system?"

The navigator responded

"Sir, in 15 min we would leave systems range"

Niklaus responded

"Good, prepare to enter the Hyper-void."

"Roger captain"

15 min later

Lieutenant Baker said

"Captain, we have left the system range and are preparing to open a tear to enter the hyper-void. We're beginning the deceleration process."

Captain Niklaus spoke

"Lieutenant hold that, this new ship was designed with the purpose of battle in foreign galactic territories. One of its key features for its supremacy is the capacity to enter the Hypervoid without deceleration. We should try that out before we leave the galaxy. As once we do we won't be able to get help."

The lieutenant Baker with a bit of skepticism answered

"Roger captain, I believe we should push this to the limit then to make sure we won't suffer any problems as we go."

Captain Klaus

"Good suggestion lieutenant push the drive to its top speed go 100 sol"

Lieutenant Baker

"Roger Captain, accelerating, 13 sol, 15 sol, 25 sol, 35, 50, 75, 90, 99, 100 sol. We are ready to open the tear."

Niklaus responded

"Whenever you're ready lieutenant"

Lieutenant Baker answered

"Roger Captain. Opening the tear in 5 , 4, 3 ,2 ,1 "

The lieutenant pressed a button and then something changed

In front of the spaceship, stars started to deform and disappear. Space was being torn apart and the light moved out of the way. The ship continued en course and flew straight into the tear at 100 times the speed of light. Soon Traveling at 10,000 SOL's.
