Ramiel and Maya explored the first tunnel relatively quickly. Aside from the burned and torn bodies, it was empty, as were the next ten. Apparently, the monster nest was only in the early stages of development. This was evidenced by the lack of interloping between the different corridors, which the former hunter didn't complain about. At least he didn't have to create any map and wrench through dead ends.
That was the most annoying part of exterminating monster habitats, especially those underground and in nearby human settlements. By default, Ramiel would have blown everything up and buried it underground, but the presence of the village overhead made everything difficult.
The change of quiet pace came with the exploration of the largest corridors, but that also wasn't unusual. Ramiel and Maya encountered several pitifully weak and half-dead scolopendras near the end of the tunnel.
