Remind me of him

Looking at the sleeping face of his sister, Owen shake his head as he went over what she has just said to him.

'Have I ever once feel sympathy for those I have killed?' Asked Owen to himself, but thinking about what they are going through right now, he shake his head. 'Of course I have not, what am I even saying, why would I show sympathy for those who have ruin our lives'.

Positioning his sister properly so she could sleep beside their mother, he stood up to watch guard as he couldn't see too far from sitting down.

'Mom please do tell us everything we need to know so I can solve this issue, I'm no longer a kid that you can hide everything from so as not to get involved'.

Knowing that solving this matter would lead to him killing more people who were after them, he sighed out loud as he was ready to take the risk.

'Can't believe I was the same boy who was against killing, I wasn't even able to bring myself to inflict pain on my opponent in the tournament, now look what live have put me through' said Owen to himself as he look around while tightening his grip on his sword.

'I vow to protect my mom and sister no matter what, even if it cause me killing everyone and losing my life' vowed Owen as he look at the sky.

Waking up the next morning, they all got into the carriage so as to continue their journey, knowing as it would be hard to go hunting in the morning, they just decided to start their journey now so they could reach the other kingdom in time.

Riding for hours without any break and food, the horse went on a revolt as they refuse to go any further, leading to Owen stopping the carriage so as to rest.

Looking at her two children, Bethany mind drifted off to the words of their father when she asked about his first kill.

Remembering every single details of what he said, she shake her head as she knew it was all a lie and a facade. Seeing the type of person he was, made her change all her thoughts about him.

"Owen and Beatrice, I'm sorry for putting you through this, knowing that you have take the lives of a fellow humans would change you forever, I just want you two to know it isn't your fault" said Bethany as she look at them.

"We are fine mom, we did what we have to do and it's the right thing, I don't feel bad at all" replied Owen.

Hearing the words of his son and seeing the expression on his face, she swallow hard as she knew he meant everything he said about not feeling bad about killing.

'Why do you always have to remind me about him Owen, your character are clearly the same as him' said Bethany inwardly.

"Beatrice, how about you, are you okay?" Asked Bethany as she look at her.

"Mom I'm okay, Owen talked me out of it, you don't have to worry about it" replied Beatrice.

'Seems you do take over more of my emotions than that of your father' said Bethany inwardly. 'How will you guys feel when I tell you the truth about your father, especially you Owen, how will you feel'.

After about an hour rest and the horses being fed, they continue their journey so they could reach the other kingdom in time and find something to eat.

Even with being the lowest clan in Pekresh kingdom, they have never once been in hunger like they were right now.

Reaching the kingdom after a long ride, their carriage was stopped as the purpose of their visit was asked of.

Letting his mom handle it as it wasn't the first time she has been to the kingdom, they let them pass after some minutes and payment.

Riding into the kingdom after being examined, they quickly walked to the closer inn in sight so as to book a place for them to stay.

Ordering for foods to eat and booking two rooms for them to stay, Owen paid the require amount before they went to their room to wait for their food to be carried to them.

Having Beatrice to stay with their mom in one room, so she can take care of her because of her injuries, Owen walked outside so as to wait for the food.

Waiting outside of the room and taking the food from the attendant, Owen knocked on the door before opening it to drop the food before going to his room.

Dropping his food on the table, he walked into the small washroom so as to clean himself.

Having to travel three days without a proper bathing, he knew he would be reeking of smell especially after the blood that has been splash on different part of his body from killing his enemies.

Walking out of the washroom, he clean himself before wearing his clothes and going to laid down on the bed.

Turning his head to look at the food on the table, he turn his head to the other side as he doesn't seem to have any appetite to eat even after not eating since morning.

Hearing the loud voices downstairs wasn't really helping him think as he keep on turning his head from one side to the other.

Getting up from his bed and walking over to his mom and sister room, he could see that they have finished washing themselves and was currently eating.

"Mom, I'll be back, I want to go around the kingdom to look how it is" said Owen as he walked to her.

Bethany was about refusing but she control herself as she knew no one would recognize him if he was to patrol the kingdom, so he agree to it.

"Here, protect mom if anything was to happen, I wouldn't take long, just want to check some things" said Owen to Beatrice as he drop his sword beside her as he knew she doesn't have any sword with her, just her arrow.
