A Beloved Man

It was safe to say that cleanup would be a huge undertaking. The Watchtower was very close to falling apart and descending onto Earth. A plethora of walls had been broken through. There was direct passage to space, leaving a vacuum in the structure.

Sora grabbed Clark by the foot before taking off into space. He didn't accelerate yet, as the mistress could finally get a view of stars close up. Watching the sleepy man fight was like watching a slideshow. One moment he was here and the next, he was there.

"Mmm…They all look white and yellow. Do the stars all look like this in space?" She asked while tilting her head.

"...There are many different stars. Here. Let's find a different scenery." He answered.

DING

They were immediately in a new galaxy. This time, the void seemed to bleed green. Some stars released a teal glow while others were bright green. Others were purple and orange. It was just the majority of green that shaped the canvas.

Still, Alice was impressed nevertheless. The beautiful doll was no longer in her chair. She ran across the skyrealm, a ripple following each of her steps. The entire sky had become space, instead of clouds.

Her synergy with the philosopher stone allowed her to utilize the skyrealm very efficiently. She was like the beloved of this world, the surroundings moving to her desires. The beautiful doll hadn't been in this realm for long…but she already thought of it as a second home.

"Sora?"

"Mmm?"

"Will I be able to stay here more often? Will I be able to go with you now?" She asked nervously. Sora, who was casually traveling through galaxies, came to a stop.

"...You can definitely stay here more often. When it comes to my travels…hmmm…we'll have to form a deal that works for us. Let's talk about it once we get home." He said.

If she went with him everywhere, it wouldn't be long before she met Raven, Harley, and Jaina. This could be a good thing. Alice needed some people who would treat her like a sister and socialize. These women were smart, and would know what Sora wanted from them. The young Lockhart was already making a plan on how it would happen.

"Mnnn…" She hummed quietly.

The doll's expression betrayed her soft voice tone. There was a large grin on her face. One could see that she was elated.

It didn't take much longer to reach Earth. Sora located Manhunter's position due to the light hidden within the martian's body. When the sleepy man appeared, he found himself in the Batcave.

Batman, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, and Hawkman were all in stretchers. There were many other injured heroes as well. Sora dropped Superman's body on the ground. The sound of flesh hitting the pavement caused everyone to look over.

Eyes grew wide upon seeing the kryptonian's mangled body. He almost resembled a corpse. Many gazes went from Clark to Sora as they truly understood the difference. There was a line. Do NOT cross it, or they would be next.

The young Lockhart gave them all a simple glance before vanishing. A second later, they were back home. There was already a repair crew on sight. It would take a day or two to fix the hole in the study.

Alice was pulled out of the skyrealm with only a thought. She appeared on his lap, like the delicate maiden she was. A sweet kiss followed right after. Her lips were sweet as always.

Sora eventually laid back onto the bed and closed his eyes. His body shined with light, getting rid of any dirt, blood, and grime. Alice eventually leaned over him. Her hands pressed onto the mattress on both sides of his head.

"Sora."

"...Mnn."

"Sora…"

"...Mnn."

"Sora!"

"...Mnn."

The sleepy man only hummed in response. Alice pressed onto the bed multiple times, causing his body to bounce over and over. He finally opened his eyes after a while. Only then did he notice how close their faces were.

"You can't go to sleep yet. Come on!" She grabbed his hands and pulled him to a sitting position.

"What…there's more stuff to do?"

"Yes." She nodded.

"Like…?"

"I can't tell you. Come on!"

The young Lockhart was pulled through the manor. Upon running into a maid, Alice would whisper in her ear. The maid would nod back in affirmation…As if something was finally complete.

Each maid would scurry off after being spoken to. It took a good fifteen minutes for the two Lockharts to reach their destination. They'd stopped in front of the ballroom.

"Alright, close your eyes. Don't open them until I say!" She demanded. Sora would follow her wishes.

Alice knocked on the large doors. They slowly opened after a few seconds. It was very quiet. Sora was led by hand until he touched a railing. The mistress finally hugged his side.

"You can open them." As soon as he opened his golden eyes, he was greeted by a bunch of colors.

Every maid in the entire estate was lined up through the ballroom in seven neat rows. They all raised a glowing ball in the air, each one a different color. An entire orchestra began to play.

""HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!"" Everyone chanted in unison.

The glowing balls were thrown into the air. They floated up like balloons and hugged the ceiling. These lights were the only thing illuminating the room. It was beautiful. Not to mention the extravagant decorations.

'Ah…I forgot that I had a birthday.' He thought.

All of his time in space had totally changed his true age. It wouldn't be the same as Earth time. Still, he appreciated the sentiment. Sora strolled down the stairs and stopped in front of a cake tower.

The bottom platter was a tres leches cake. The one above that was a chocolate lava cake. Above that was a carrot cake. Above that was a vanilla bean cake. Above that was a cookie cake. Above that was a lovely velvet cake. And finally…at the top was a scrumptious looking funnel cake!

"Wow…" Sora didn't know what to say. Alice had followed right behind him.

"Come on! Cut a piece of the carrot cake. Then everyone else can finally eat." A voice spoke from afar.

It was Shizuo. The whole intelligence gang was here. Celty and Anri waved silently. Sora wrapped his arm around the delinquent's neck and dragged him over to the cake tower.

"...Shizuo, does your shame have no bounds? Talking about a carrot cake when the funnel cake is right in front of you. Were you dropped on your head as a baby?"

"You wanna go, ah?! Got something against carrot cakes?!"

The two would go on to argue about petty things. An orchestra was off to the side, playing exquisite waltzes that uplifted the spirit. There were even dancers who twirled around with flowing ribbons. What an interesting end to the day's events. Sora couldn't lie…this life was great.

Listen to Waltz of the Flowers for the orchestra piece.
