Chapter 7

"Your vanishing charms are bullshit I tell you if you were a couple years older I would offer to do very inappropriate things in order to get your secrets." Mia huffed with Leah blushing and nodding aggressively. Yeah being able to literally turn piles of steaming shit and other nasty things into fresh air apparently made me the new coming of the Greek Jesus because pegasi apparently never want to fly or even run with things weighing them down so its all got to go from one end to the other, that's why cleaning those super stables I cant remember the name of was one of Hercules Task's.

"So we finished the chores and I made a fool out of myself at Archery class" They giggled at the memories of me literally missing every damn arrow because face it I'm a scrawny kid and not one of those jacked Ares or Hephaestus kids, hell I always thought the Ares kids in the novel sucked but here Ha! they all have a strong physique with even the younger kids having strength and agility akin to the movie version of Captain America and they grow to specialize in certain parts or forms of warfare later on. "Next time I will just conjure several dozen arrows and shoot them with magic then lets see who laugh." I huffed with Mia throwing a arm over my shoulder

"Ok lets get to your so called cabin and we can get to work I will start setting up wards and Leah will help pull up some metals from the ground to help while you continue building." Mia stated but we both took it as an order.

Mia seeing the outline I already made of the initial building started outlining several glyph's that burned into the ground leaving charred ground leaving a good space as Leah just sat down and started scoping her hands through the ground like it was water pulling small pieces of metal and gems but I could already tell it was exhausting for her. I continued the main build adding another building behind the first and putting and outlining a tower on all three sides of the back building if you were to look at it from above it would be a smaller rectangle acting as the entryway and connected to another larger rectangle which was the main house with a tower on each side of the main building.

"Wow kid you really wanna make us work hard don't you. Well at least the stone walls your using will be thick enough to keep most monsters out when they are reinforced with magic." Mia called seeing me start to cut more stone walls out.

For the rest of the day we continued building only breaking to grab a quick lunch and continue on, I used all the copper Leah pulled up to make copper roofing and engraved a bunch of Sowilo Runes which the rune for lightning on them to passively collect lightning so if anything landed on them it would fry them and later in a couple days they will gather enough lightning energy so I can shoot a massive bolt of lightning and unless a Hydra or something is trying to beat my doors down anything shot by it will die.

Leah came up behind me and watched as I was engraving endurance and strength runes into the walls and onto the doors "Although we are children of Circe if we are caught using Norse runes like this we would get in a lot of trouble and you need to be careful those runes will be a literal spotlight shining in the darkness to a monster especially if there a Norse monster."

I nodded at that very good advice "I understand that's why after I'm done working on the building I will be doing a ritual to animate a bunch of statue's and I will be hiding Egyptian Hieroglyphic's under some wards and lastly there will be a powerful barrier based off those gems you got to deny all entry so if something wants to break it then they must break that first."

Mia and Leah after listening to the defenses nodded "By the way Mia what the hell kind of curses you got going on there." I questioned with a deep frown after seeing her doing a lot of frankly creepy shit like burying a live chicken in the ground and painting some blood in the lines of the glyph's that sizzled into red mist that when reached me made me think there was a baby crying nearby.

She grimly smiled "The curses have to be able to register threat on there own so they need a touch of life to them that's the Greek way." Ah so she used the soul of the chicken to give the wards a sense of intelligence and the blood of a child would give a lot of power even if its fucked up.

"But why the hell you are using the blood of a new born granted I can see there is no aura of death attached to that blood and that's the only reason frankly I haven't killed you but the fact that the blood is boiling on contact with other magic means they had to have the baby make there own blood heavily saturated in magic." I said blankly and I could feel even Ellesmera from the bond recoiling from my conflicted emotions and a subtle form of agreement came from her and I could feel her augmenting my own stores of magic and the trees were ready to lash out at our command.

Leah gave me a weak smile and Mia sighed "As I said its the Greek way, for us magic has a cost and normally its a steep one so why not have others pay for it..." I didn't get an answer and frankly I really don't want one, I'm more of a person who doesn't care for the suffering of others but when its right in my face it rubs me wrong. "Now the children this blood was taken from were in a deep coma and were compensated very well later in life as an apology."

I cut her off harshly "Bullshit that amount of lifeforce doesn't come cheap that literally took years off there lifespan." I sneered before sighing and with a wave of my hand and with the help of Ellesmera I vanished the top parts of the soil around the build sending the tainted ground into the void. "I will not sleep and live near the literal tormented live force of children this isn't Sparta where babies are thrown off cliffs if necessary I will teach you my magic rather than this nonsense."

Mia getting angry at me for destroying hours of her work snapped "Fine if you can create a strong ward with the next hour I don't know we will acknowledge you as our master!" she yelled with Leah spinning on her sister with a disbelieving expression.

Leah grabbed her sister and started harshly whispering in her ear so I just waited for them to sort it out. Frankly I wasn't to interested in learning Greek magic or at least the curses if they were so sacrificial based I rather not need to rely on other substances for my magic to work.

Leah uncharacteristically had a stubborn expression on her face as she turned back to me and walked over and held a hand towards me to shake "We are willing to be you're students and even servant's seeing as you're technically a prince in the pantheon, if you can do it but if you fail we will get a single favor to be called in at our discretion that doesn't take more than a single days work from you and doesn't harm you."

I could feel the magic coming from her hand and I knew it would bind us both to the agreement, but I had a lot of misgivings like for example how long would the terms of there service would be even with there sides agreements being a lot more clear-cut. I could feel Ellesmera hanging over my shoulder and her hand holding my shoulder even with her not being there "Do it, I will protect you from sabotage, and you need followers as a prince so having a couple power hungry sorceress's to tame would be good training." Ellesmera whispered into my mind.

I just nodded tiredly knowing I wasn't going to be able to escape this without harming my credibility and grasped Leah's hand and she repeated the bet with me agreeing. Tssszzz a two headed snake unwrapped from her arm and linked ours "If one of us breaks there end of the bargain this snake will bite them and the poison although nonlethal is excruciating and the pain will last a full month." 'Dammit mom why do you get me in this kind of things' I mentally cursed and I could feel her giggling in the back of my mind as I got prepared.
