Body Modification

Taking the first step into the unknown territory Mike prays that nothing will happen.

*Thud* His first step sounded more heavily as it expresses how pressured he is thinking what if this a trap.

Luckily, nothing happens when he first takes a step inside.

Taking another step nothing happens to show there is nothing to fear.

*Few* Leaving a relieved sigh Mike continued to advance towards the metal chest.

Not used to his heavily dark surroundings Mike still take cautious in his surrounding.

"You can do it! Just walk without fail!" At his back, Imuthis cheering him with a grin in his face.

(I'll seriously slaughter you if something happens!)

Reaching the middle of the dark cavern, the chest at the top of the table pillar is in his very front.

The Chest is slightly clean, maybe the cleanest he has ever seen since he fell in that hole.

Slowly stretching his right hand to the metal chest his hand slowly opens the silver chest.

He tries to open it however it didn't budge.

(Huh? This is weird. Hey, what are your thoughts about this?)

Without looking back Mike asks Imuthis with a certain question.

"Hmm... Back then when you forcefully opened me it was supposed not to happen. I guess you can't open that chest without fulfilling the chest's requirements."

(What requirements?)

"My requirements to you back then is to get your head working under intense pressure. You actually achieve it in a short time which is amazing, to be honest."

(So all I need to do is to do the same right?)

"Yeah but I think each chest has different requirements to fulfill."

(Now that you think about it you're right. Your requirement to me back then is to not lose my cool while under intense pressure. So when I achieve that I got you who can suppress my pain to a certain limit and can make my brain work smoothly.)

"Uh-huh..."

(Even before when I still didn't unlock you... You can still manage to use your power to me even if it just a little.)

"That's right when you are surrounded by guards I immediately use my power to you. That's quite exhausting back then when I was still trapped at that chest."

(So, this hand of mine turned to this because of this chest. It transform my hand to this when I was in a pinched.

This power is quite amazing even tho it just gives me a little of its power, what would it be if I receive its whole ability? Damnit this is kinda exciting.)

"Hey, at least my is better."

(Well, I can't lie that you help me countless of times with your brain management, but also having a power-up in my body might not be too bad.)

"It's true I mean.. With that, you will be the first human who has a weapon disposable under your hands. But that doesn't mean it can outclass me tho! Kukuku!"

(Yeah, yeah whatever.)

Holding the silver chest at his arms he carefully checks every side of it.

Unlike Imuthis's, this chest has no marks nor signs to show what kind of chest this is.

Mike does have a vague idea of what kind of chest might this be.

(If this will be like Imuthis maybe something familiar will pop out from the chest because it's related to my memories or something.

Metal chest, metal chest... Did I encounter something metal before? I hope there will be a sign.)

Shaking the chest Mike did not hear a single thing about the inside.

Growing from a rich family who has all, Mike thought he could think of a single clue about the metal chest.

Imuthis also helping Mike by digging from his memories.

At the end of the day in the void, they didn't gain a single clue.

(I guess this will be like Imuthis. I didn't remember Imuthis much from the story but he is here created by me for some reason.)

"Mike it's time."

(Right now!? Isn't it too early?)

"Your body is pretty much healed and what's more there's something big creature below that's heading towards you."

(Don't tell me it's the black thing again!?)

"Seems like it."

Enveloping by a black mist Mike didn't resist and let his body gave in.

Waking up from the real his real body Mike immediately took a peek below with his dazzling stars view.

At the below, there is nothing except the giant black light.

It's another black giant creature.

It's getting bigger and bigger in seconds as it going towards Mike's place.

Quickly reacting to the danger Mike looks at his dark gray hands.

(I guess I'm gonna use you, right now.)

Thrusting his left hand to his left side the bubble pop instantly.

As he expected the sharpness of this hand is a real deal.

Water immediately surging around his body like an unstoppable wave hitting everything that blocks to their path.

But before they hit Mike already deployed the weird substance barrier to his body preventing him from getting crushed by the pressure.

And as usual, when Mike leaves the bubble the tentacle at his foot will kick in and slowly pulling him to the deep.

After he did that his dark grey hands have gone back to normal, retracting the color to his usual light skin.

He feels that his hands were weakened and feeling numb after that.

The black creature is near.

(Imuthis! Legs!)

[Got it.]

The weird substance from his lower half was lessened making his legs move freely.

Paddling hard he tries to get away from the creature's direction.

As each time had passed the shadow below him is getting way bigger beyond the size of the last black creature he killed.

(I can't get away!)

[Mike! Float!]

Appearing out of nowhere Imuthis voiced his help because Mike trust him for these past years he immediately follows his words.

Stretching his arms away from his chest and his legs spread wide open the weird substance spread further than it could as Mike uses all of his juice inside his body to form a thick barrier around him.

Forming like a red color sphere Mike's descending has been slowed.

The tentacle at his foot is still pulling him but not much faster than it's usual speed.

This can't help him in this situation but Mike still trusted Imuthis.

(You sure you know what you're doing right?)

[Just trust me!]

The black creature is coming as it shows its real size. Compare to the black creature he killed this creature is two times bigger.

The creature opens its mouth as it starts sucking everything in front of his mouth including Mike.

Because of the creature's size, Mike's surrounding is all dark barely seeing any stars.

As the creature about to reach Mike's feet and devour him.

*GROMP*

Out of nowhere something appeared from the creature's back.

Because of the surprise attack, the creature that about to eat Mike didn't have a chance to react from the sudden attack from its back.

Before the creature could react its lower body was already gone...

The creature that is two times the size of the one Mike killed was instantly died, only leaving the head as it slowly descends.
