[Hello, Levi]
He paused.
The shaving wand hovered just above his chin when the voice broke the silence, forcing him to stop and stare intently at the mirror.
[It's been a while]
First, it didn't seem like there was anything wrong, but there was. Levi hadn't heard that voice in a long time, and now, there it was, speaking a full sentence.
In fact, Levi hadn't merged for quite some time. He had decided not to after the Federation was established. Why? There were a thousand reasons, but they could all be distilled into one: to save lives.
As he continued to study his reflection, the sounds of his partner clearing the washroom channel faded into the background. Levi's focus was entirely on his face, watching as, slowly, one side of it seemed to take on a life of its own; it had a faint smile creeping across, when the other half of his face was neutral and curious. His eyes widened on this revelation and his breath cut on his throat.
