Without even hearing the full thing and just with the keywords "Matthew" and "Marisha"—which were Kaley and Olivia's parents' names—I suddenly turned to the two with eyes so round they'd mistake me as a non-Asian:
"Hey! They're here! They're—"
"Who?/ Who's here?" The two were still oblivious because they hadn't heard what we did yet.
"YOU— YOUR MOM AND DAD ARE HERE! THEY SAW THE NOTE!"
"WHAT?!/ REALL?!"
"COME ON! THEY'RE RIGHT OUTSIDE!"
Barely seeing the happiness across Kaley's face and the tears falling down from Olivia's, I already ran past the gate, and just like that, a familiar camper van was right outside the fence.
Obviously enough, I let them in though which I assumed was Matthew—the one in the driver's seat with the tinted windows—looked around warily at first before slowly coming in once Kaley and Olivia caught up to me.
