Corina stood next to a table in a corner of the room. She'd made her way over there while Alexander was having a deep conversation with Prince Chase of Ferrum. It had taken both Alexander by surprise that a representative from the nation had traveled all the way from their kingdom to attend the ceremony, so they decided to converse with the man about politics.
It bored Corina out of her mind.
Corina snuck off, weaved through the crowd, and made her way to the table. She looked at the items on it and decided the light-colored beverage looked tasty enough. She picked it up, took a drink, and felt a burning sensation traveling down her throat. She coughed. It was a bit much, but she took another drink.
"Duchess?" She heard a voice call out. She hadn't yet realized that marrying Alexander would bestow upon her a new title. Sbe spent all her life as princess, or simply Corina, so she didn't turn to look at the individual who attempted to get her attention.
