Koala
My eyes fluttered open and I took in my surroundings.
"Oh my God." I gasped when I saw the man sleeping next to me, I inhaled deeply taking in his scent, he smelt like me and that made my beast lightheaded.
"Jesus." He even had a bite mark, OhmyGod, I claimed him and he claimed me, I had a mate.
But I couldn't have a mate, that would mean giving up my life.
The doubts started creeping in.
Would he accept my beast? what would he do if I told him I had to feed at least once a month.
Where were this questions coming from, it wasn't like I planned to get closer to him.
But we are mates, aren't mates supposed to tell each other everything.
Oh God, What had I done! I wasn't even ready for a mate.
Oh God! I left Diana and Tara alone with the rest of the pack.
Oh God! Diana was going to kill me.
Oh God! Oh God! Oh God!
I tried breathing deeply, I never had a panic attack for Christ sake.
I was a made Sehirah for crying out loud.
I got up from the bed not even bothering to admire the room.
My clothes, where the hell where my clothes?
Oh! I worried my hand through my hair, my clothes were completely distroyed.
I looked around and noticed a drawer beside the bed, I ran for it, almost tripping on my clothes with the amount of speed I put into it.
I rummaged through the clothes trying to find one that looked my size but settled on a trouser when I couldn't find one.
When I turned back to pick my top, I froze.
Vincent was awake, watching me with slightly tipped lips, and a hand holding up his head.
"Where are you going?"
I really had no answer for the question.
"Are you going to remain standing?"
I straightened, still holding the trouser.
"So you wanna introduce yourself to your mate?"
"Aren't you supposed to be alert?" I blurted out. "Aren't you afraid I'll attack you?"
"Why should I be? We are mates, so no, I'm really not afraid, so answer my question."
"I'm Koala Hedgins."
"Really? Your name is Koala?"
"Yes," I answered frowning slightly, didn't he like my name, did my name sound bad, I was suddenly name conscious— if that was even a thing.
"What's wrong with my name?"
"Nothing, it's just a weird name." He answered.
"Don't you like it?" Jesus, what was this man turning me into, why the hell did I care if he liked my name or not.
I wondered what Master would have said if he saw me like this.
"So why were you pretending to be Octavian, and how did you do it?"
His tone turned all Beta and I actually found it hot.
His dark hair scattered on his face, Green eyes staring at me cautiously, pink lips pouted in all seriousness, his huge muscles rippling as he stares back at me.
I narrowed my eyes in suspicion. "Do you really expect me to answer that?"
I mean come on, if i told him I was here for the Hikrata, I was dead, all things considered, the pack came first, and if the Alpha's mate was killed the Alpha's sanity would be questioned, which will in turn put the pack in jeopardy.
"Aren't mates supposed to tell each other everything?"
The question hurt me more than I cared to admit, he was using the mate card to get me to talk.
"Come on, aren't you going to tell your mate."
The knock on the door stopped me from replying.
"Beta." A man's voice sounded.
"Yes?" Vincent answered.
"There's been another attack and it's a life or death situation."
The way Vincent caught his breath was very telling.
