Remi’s POV
I inhale a sharp breath and walk toward Gray. His eyes are still focused on the ground beneath his feet, and he uses his finger to draw circles in the small puddle of water beside him. I’m hoping that’s water and not something else.
As I get closer, the nerves begin to kick into overdrive. The past week with Gray has been amazing, and I would hate to ruin it by being here if he doesn’t want to see me. I know he has a lot of boundaries and keeps a lot of things in his life private, so my being here might complicate his feelings or make him want to pull away from me because he thinks I’m trying to involve myself in his life.
Either way, this entire interaction is going to be a complicated mess, but I feel compelled to talk to him and see if I can help in any way. I’ve begun to learn that Gray responds to my presence positively in most situations, so maybe this conversation might go better than planned.
