The Cunning Plan (2)

"Now, Karl, tell me the details of this plan of yours." 

Karl twisted his body halfway from his father. He did not want him to have a clear look at his facial expression because he was scared that he would be able to look at his face and read the lies that he was about to tell him. 

He and his wife had lost sleep, discussing the many reasons why they had to lie to his own father and betray his brothers and sister. He had tried to change his wife's decision but she had a strong argument and he could not really say no to her, not only because she was his favorite for she was the only one who produced him a son, but also because he liked the plan that she was proposing.
