Chapter 36: Irish Goodbye

Diego’s POV

“We need to get them out of here now,” Marcell quietly demanded.

The Ricci men had overpowered Pauly and intimidated Olivia, stealing Katie, taking her god knows where by the time Nick the driver had pulled the car around to take them to our safe house. I’ll never forget the look on Marcell’s face when Nick called. I’ve never seen my cousin as terrified. I’ve never felt as helpless.

It wasn’t hard to figure out who had taken Katie. Penelope had gone missing from the engagement party moments before the phone call. She wanted to get caught. She wanted me to feel scared. She wanted me to realize her threats were real and that the time was ticking down.

And it worked. I was terrified.

“If we’re leaving. We’re all leaving,” Katie said.
