Chapter 9

Cassandra’s POV

It is time for me to learn to be the best warrior that there is, to protect my family and my packs. I will become the alpha , the Luna, the queen of this land. Monday came hitting like a train and we all had to go back and pretend everything was normal in school. I pulled some clothes over myself and grabbed a cup of coffee.

‘’ You look so adorable with that crazy hair of yours’’ laughed William. His hand going through my hair helping me making it sit normally. I gave him a kiss on his lips and gestured that we should get going. All the boys were waiting for us as Irene actually had to go home the other night to heal and purify her body from Faune’s spells. Jasper was a train wreck not hearing from her for a couple hours now. Fortunately she was already waiting for us in a pink dress with her ginger hair braided. She had a bag in her hand gesturing for Jasper to come closer to her.

‘’ I made you lunch today.’’ She smiled placing the bag in his hand.

‘’ You are just too sweet.’’ He said kissing her fourhead.

At least this part from our lives seemed normal. Paige parked her car in fron of the school, getting ut of her brand new jeep.

‘’ Move bitches!’’ she yelled pushing past us. This was getting funny, really. Irene gestured with her finger towards her heels and she tripped on air literally. She bumped straight into the red doors as everyone laughed. ‘’ UHHHHH!’’ she screamed making her way down the halls.

During our sports class I decided to stand by the bleachers and continue reading the book my father gave me. It said:

‘’ A royal wolf can control the wolf powers without having to shift, and just as any magical creature far more powers rule withing ourselves. If a true royal alpha will take the throne he or she shall be able to do more than they have ever done before. They will be able to do much more.

As I was trying my best to continue reading I noticed William gesturing me towards his car, he wanted to skip class for the day so we could spend some time together, alone. I smiled and got up from the bench sneaking slowly towards the car hoping that my sports teacher won’t notice me.

He pulled his car from the driveway and decided to leave it at the den. We walked into the woods for a while and stopped when I noticed the most beautiful view I have ever seen. The mountains collided together and than split apart almost as if they were inching closer to kiss but always to far apart. William placed a blanket on the floor and opened the basket he brought with us. I sat down beside him as his strong arms wrapped around my waist. It was a moment of bliss that I didn’t want to end . If time could stop so only me and him would still be able to move, I would let that clock sit still for centuries hoping that our moment would never end.

I neve thought I could be able to love someone as much as I love him ,to bury my soul into his and never let it go, but I have never felt stronger and more independent in my life, like I could take on the world by myself, but his present made it all a pleasure. His arms pulled me closer as I turned my neck to kiss him on the lips. Once our lips connected it was just the brightest spark going in my head, my body tingling at his touch, my skin burning aching for more. I wanted him all for myself for forever and though it seems like a lot of time to me it still wasn’t enough.

‘’I love you.’’ He whispered.

‘’ I love you too.’’ I smiled kissing him once more.

‘’You know Cassandra Cromwell, I never thought you could turn my world upside down, to make me want to bow at your feet , your every ward my command, to love you and to cherish you, hold you in my arms for forever. No amount of time will be long enough with you.’’ A tear was already rolling down my cheek and his thumb brushed it away. The sun seemed to be consumed by the forest as it got darker and darker, so we decided to head back to the den. Once we got closer I could notice two packs standing at our door. One was Alexander’s and the other was Aspen’s. Alexander ruled over fifteen members and Aspen over twenty. They were mates from what I could notice from the auras, only they didn’t seem to know it yet. They both presented themselves, Alexander seemed like a calm guy but very content to himself , where Aspen was this blonde girl with one of the most positive vibes I have ever seen.

‘’ I don’t want to seem rude or as if I am butting in, but you two are mates. Did you know that?’’ I asked. They turned to one another and their auras started getting brighter by the second.

‘’I…. I didn’t know.’’ Blushed Aspen.

‘’Well we do know.’’ Smirked Alexander as he grabs her hand into his.

‘’How did you know?’’ asked Will.

‘’I read in the book that royal blood has special powers with or without wolf from, I know you guys have them too only mine are stronger and some are odd actually.’’

‘’ Well that is interesting.’’ Concluded Jasper who was propping on the door with Irene in his arms.

‘’ Come on in let’s have dinner.’’ I smiled. They all told me what has happened to the in the past years how they made it work and how Mister Bane took care for all of them. It was nice knowing that they have never lost hope and they were ready to turn all packs into one huge family.

Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a woman standing in the back porch, her white hair flowing in the wind.Once her scent hit , I knew it was the lady that chained me the other night. I got up from he table , linking my mind to hers, she was calm and collected she wasn’t here to fight, yet.

‘’Miss Cassandra Cromwell, I am here for a talk.’’

‘’I have nothing to say to you.’’ I said turning around.

‘’You will want to hear this, Faune was no ordinary witch she was also half fairy , and their kind don’t take it lightly when one of them is killed. Alone , in the woods.’’

‘’ But she was not alone , nor was she peaceful as you are trying to make it sound.’’

‘’You see… once words get to their ears and they hear one version of a story they can believe whatever. Specially since I told them my truth.’’

‘’Why the hell would you lie. What is your problem?’’

‘’I want trouble, and your family will pay for it. So enjoy that is coming to you cause it will be strong and no one will defend you.’’ She concluded as she started walking away. By the time she finished everyone was standing at the door growling at her.

‘’It’s fine. Everyone stay calm, I am sure we will all be fine whatever she meant by all that.’’ I smiled trying to encourage them.

Knock knock knock knock

‘’Oh hi dad.’’ I smiled.

‘’Oh, hi everyone, I just wanted to stop by and bring some things.’’ He smiled showing some boxes with old stuff.’’ I think you can use them for the future.’’ My dad was always this calm person, he loved history and would collect anything and everything.

He said his goodies and left to go home. He has his own business about history of course and my mom is the an architect. It is quite nice that they can get to do what they actually love. My phone started buzzing in my pocket.

‘’Hi mom.’’

‘’Hi sweetie I hope you didn’t forget about you birthday party!’’ she squeeled excited over the phone.

‘’Mom….’’

‘’Nonsense, this weekend we will have the biggest party at our house, invite all your friends over and let’s have a weekend of fun and silence alright?’’

‘’Okay, thank you mom , and thank you for the boxes dad dropped earlier.’’

‘’No problem sweetie. Love ya.’’ She hung up.

‘’So it’s you birthday soon?’’ asked Irene.

‘’This Saturday, I am turning eighteen.’’ I smiled.

‘’Wohooooooo!’’ screamed Malik. ‘’Let’s party!’’ we all laughed.

Days passed by and everything seemed so quiet, nothing out of the ordinary, It almost sounded to quiet, and than right as I sat down for lunch with everyone there was another letter waiting for me.

‘’ Dear Cassandra,

Harder times will be approaching, please stay safe and take action only if needed. Fairies are not to be messed with and if they call out to you, go to their council and talk to them. Never lie and always answer when asked. All in dues time.

Mister Bane once more popped in with new information , only this time a few words to short. I wanted to know more and to talk to him already , but it is what it is. As I took a bite out of my lunch I noticed something strange in my meal, some really strange leaves, but as I tried asking Irene, my throat closed shut and I couldn’t breath no more. My eyes were begging for help as everyone looked confused.

“THE LEAVES! THEY ARE POSIONOUS!’’ screamed Irene.

They picked me up and took me in a closed biology lab before anyone could noticed. She scrambled into her bag trying to figure out what to do, but it was to no avail . As I could start seeing stars a light tall figure with a cloak came inside the class and gestured Irene to grab a mystery bottle. After making sure it was safe she placed it in my mouth and I could slowly regain my breath.

‘’My queen wanted you to know, that we can take out your queen and you wouldn’t even know it. Now , Cassandra Cromwell you are asked to come at our council we must talk about Faune.’’ And with that the fairy left.

‘’If anyone tried to touch you I am going to kill them!’’ William was beyond angry.’’ We need to find better ways to protect you, it’s like everyone wants you dead!’’ he screamed.

I looked at him and gave him a kiss ‘’ we must go to the council and talk to them. We don’t need no war.’’ We all packed our stuff and got out of school trying to find the bar that the fairies own. Once we got to the building a tall fairy let us in and gestured us towards a dark violet door. As we opened it we literally stepped into some magical woods , it felt like we passed through a portal. Trying to get to the queen we were all stopped and searched . The fairies said that I was the only one that can go closer and the rest must stay put. I looked at the boys and told them to be calm.

‘’ So , this , is the future queen of wolves?’’ looked the fairy queen with demise.

‘’ Yes this is she , Cassandra Cromwell. What may I call you?’’ I questioned.

‘’I am the Queen of fairies I am to be called Queen Cora. Your family has caused us trouble in the past and I can see they are doing just fine in the present as well! You family has committed bad action upon us and there will be blood for it!’’ she yelled getting up from her throne.

‘’What are you talking about ?’’

‘’Faune was killed by your parents in the woods , she was just walking around looking for herbs, two days ago six fairies of mine have been killed near the lake, your parents scent all over it.’’

‘’ I am sorry , but , my family were defending me after Faune tried capturing me for a bounty and that white haired lady to your left planned it all. I am sure she killed you people by the lake!’’ I raised my voice.

‘’Her heart is pure Cassandra , but I don’t know about yours! You blood it cursed and so will you !’’ she got closer to me. ‘’Their blood shall be paid with blood and only than I will see equality. Now leave ! And if anything else happens you shall be next!’’ They grabbed us and pushed us through the portal again.

‘’WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED BACK THERE?!’’ William was beyond furious at this point. She basically threatened me and my entire family.

‘’Listen we need to be calm about this, hopefully one of the other alphas can give word to Mister Bane and figure out what she meant. Maybe she is being fooled by that woman.’’
