Chapter 8

Cassandra’s POV

I was sitting in the woods, but this long white gown bare feet walking into the darkness. I started hearing men and woman yelling at one another talking about a riot that was about to happen. They were almost fighting. A tall, muscled man stepped in, he had a scar on his left eye that went down to his cheek he started talking about his revenge on the Cromwell family and how he will be king and rule over everyone, making justice for himself and others. I didn’t understand why even though I pleaded with them to stop my screams weren’t heard, my presence didn’t exist at all. I followed the to the castles gates and watched how they tore it apart, making their way into the building. They tied down all my relatives in silver chains and burned them alive on the stake. All I could do was scream begging for them to stop, but than I was jolted out of bed. It was just a nightmare.

‘’Cass! Wake up ! Please!’’ I could hear Irene voice faintly.’’ Somebody!’’

The boys rushed into the room and Will picked me up, I couldn’t move. He decided to take me into the shower and pour freezing water on both of us. I finally had woken up, but I could notice my body was burning up. My flesh felt like it was falling off.

‘’Cass please wake up!’’

‘’What has happened? I was in a dream, but it felt so real, it was like I just witnessed the murder of my family.’’

‘’ I think Faune is doing it, she probably is tormenting us to make us cave in and let her find where we are.’’ Explained Irene. ‘’ Since she can’t sense us because of the necklaces she is trying her best to make us go crazy, she is using your trauma Cass, better said the history of your family to make you go insane by the time she finds you. All I can say is that I will find a way to create better potions and hopefully they will be strong enough.’’

I sat down on trying to recollect myself , but I could barely focus on my own thoughts as I could still see flashes from the past in my mind. As I tried getting up, I could her her voice, Faune’s voice.

‘’ You can’t keep away from me forever Cassandra. You will come to me in the end!’’ she yelled repeatedly.

I tried to regain my balance and Will helped me back onto my own feet. I took a towel to dry myself from the cold water.

‘’ I must meet with that black wolf soon; she keeps mentioning him every so often. Also, we need to locate this bitch ourselves and make her run for her own life because she is a pain in the ass at the moment.’’ I mumbled looking for some clothes. I picked up some grey high waisted sweatpants and a crop top. Decided to put my hair in a high bun and went to pick my black air force ones.

It was nice knowing that slowly but surely everything was going our own way and now, that packs are starting to knock on our door it all seems to fall in place. Everyone sat at the table and told stories of the past.

‘’ Queen Cassandra, you may not everything about your past but I can assure you your future will be greater than anyone else from the royal family. ‘’ the alpha from the pack granted as he rose a cup and made a toast. His name was Aron , he was around in his 30’s quite a tall content person. Everything seemed well for a while until I could head the black wolf in my head again. I excused myself from the table and went outside.

‘’ I know you are there, so you better come out and speak to me! ’I yelled.

‘’ Miss Cassandra, I may seem your enemy but have you ever wondered this was all a test ? that I might be someone you already know or want to know?’’he questioned as I could see his shadow move between the trees.’’ You will soon find out, you must wait, in all dues time.’’ He finished as he went back into the woods.

In all dues time? Didn’t Mister Bane mention this phrase in his letters? Can’t help but wonder.

‘’ I know he has been spying on us .’’ Will explained as he hugged me from behind. ‘’ He does seem like a threat but sometimes he is calm and content in those woods.’’

‘’ I know. I always seem to wonder for his voice to get more information from him. But there is only a few phrases and then vanishes into thin air.’’ I finished.

We went back in the house, but as I stepped inside I saw Irene fall to the ground. She was having a dream like mine, something about her past. She was screaming and pleading for her to be let go, but to no avail. Her body was burning up and we all picked her up to take her to the cold shower. After a few minutes Faune’s voice was screaming n my head. ‘’ all you friends will die protecting you and you will fail.’’ She kept laughing.

I got up from the room and ran towards the woods, seemingly she was way closer than I thought, but I could feel her scent in the air. She get calling for my name, screaming at me. I shifted into a wolf and I could hear all the boys yelling for me to get back but I decided to chase her since her smell was even closer this time.

‘’ I see this time you are the one that is finding me.’’she grinned.’’ That small pretty spell on your neck actually made my life kind of hard, anyway, you still fell into my trap.’’

‘’ Dragging me into the woods is your trap?’’

‘’ No, just distracting you as your pack is fighting another one back there and you are here all alone with me. No enchantress powers from Irene either.’’

‘’ You wish you would have run away from the second you have seen my face.’’ I screamed at her as I tried fighting her. In a matter of seconds silver chains were thrown on me making my wolf go dormant. I recoiled to the floor trying not to scream in pain. A white haired woman stepped inside the silver chains and pulled a long dress over me as she cuffed my feet and hands. ‘’ Now now pretty one, you must come with us.’’

As I was being dragged by the cuffs on the floor two others wolves made their way to fight Faune. Mom and Dad!! They shifted and were fighting her. I was barely seeing anything as my body was being dragged further and further away from the scene by to men that were led by the white haired lady.

‘’ LET ME GO!!!’’ I screamed. In the back I could hear my parents fighting Faune trying to get closer to me. I linked my mind to the boys and fortunately everyone was fine. Aron’s pack was there to help us.

‘’Will please come find me!’’

‘’ I’m on my way!’’

At some point the dragging stopped and my body was placed in a wooden box. I screamed to be let out banging my hands on the box cover.’’ LET ME GO!’’ And then I remembered. THE FULL MOON. I ripped the charm that Irene made for me and us I felt darkness rising into the woods I could feel my wolf getting out of control. Soon the silver chains burned more and more which made me even angrier. With one gaze I noticed between the cracks of the box the light of the full moon shining on my face. My eyes darkened and I started to shift.

I broke free from the box and started running the opposite direction. They were chasing after me but once they got closer I ripped them apart as if nothing happened and went straight for the white haired lady. Unfortunately, with one swift move she planted a spell around herself.

‘’You will either stay away from me, or I will make sure of it.’’ I linked my mind to hers.

And with that being said I started running towards the boys and my parents. Reaching the area I could smell Faune’s blood which made me go even crazier.

‘’ Cass! Cass STOP!’’ I heard Will that was looking into my eyes. ‘’ You need to control yourself. Focus on my voice. It’s hard, I know it is being your first full moon but please focus and breathe.’’ His wolf kneeled next to me and I could barely control my own. My parents looked at us and she also came closer, but she was in human form covered in a blanket.

‘’Honey, listen to your voice , listen to your wolf, you should control it not us, your wolf is yours! Growl at it and make it bow for you!’’ and with that I closed my eyes and took control of my own body. Seconds later my dad covered me in a blanket and we started walking to the den. My wrists were covered in opened wounds still because of the silver chains, but slowly everything was healing just fine.

‘’ OMG! Thank goodness you are alright!’’ Irene jumped to hug me.

‘’ What happened to Faune?’’ I questioned.

‘’ We took care of her. The witch council will be happy to know she is gone since they were looking for he for a while.’’ Mom concluded.
