Following the manual, Su Chen learned that for the first three months, they could get resources from the sect. After that, they had to do missions to earn points for things like spirit stones or cool stuff from special pavilions.

He told his sister and then went to collect the resources. Back home, he started practicing the meditation exercise called The Spirit Qi Sutra. It felt amazing, like flying on clouds, making him more aware of the spiritual energy around. So, he decided to focus on meditation until the three months were up..

After three months, inside Su Chen's hut, a vortex of spiritual energy surrounded him, pouring into him. Accompanied by the sound of a click, shackles seemed to release from him.

Inside the mission hall, he went straight to the mission board. Suddenly, the crowd began gossiping while looking towards the mission hall's entrance.

Pointed out by the crowd, a man with a feminine appearance, wearing a purple-green robe, stood at the mentioned spot, appearing approachable.

According to the crowd, Chen Ruyu and Pang Bo were in the top 10 in the previous inner disciple selection. While Chen Ruyu had an icy beauty, like she stepped out of a painting, Pang Bo resembled a humanized tiger with explosive muscles, ready to pounce on anyone.

After entering the mission hall, the trio gathered.

"Sister Chen and Brother Pang, as agreed, we're all here. Now, let's wait for Junior Brother Sun, and then we can go for the pre-selected mission," said Brother Shu.

"Hey, little brother, would you like to join us? We only need one more member, and you won't be in any danger. Plus, you can complete your monthly compulsory mission."

"Thank you, Senior Brother! I would be happy to join you."

Seeing them, Su Chen didn't say no because he knew refusing could be bad for him and his sister in this tough world.

After that, Senior Brother Shu took them to register for the mission at the counter.

They rented a flying beast from the sect and started their journey to the next place.

Sunset Forest,

It took them approximately one hour to travel from Taiyi sect to the edge of Sunset Forest.

Leaping down from the beast, they stowed it in the beast bag provided by the sect.

"Senior Brother Shu, what are we supposed to do here?"

"Hmph, you're just a replacement, so just follow us instead of asking about the mission," Fang Bo replied.

Senior Brother Shu simply smiled and said nothing. Since it seemed like nobody cared about him, Su Chen decided to silently follow them.

Gazing at the vast Sunset Forest, Su Chen felt a mix of tension and anticipation for his first (forced) mission.
