MAYOR'S MANSION

Robin turned towards the person behind him while drawing his twin daggers out of the sheath. When he held the handles of his daggers, Robin gained confidence.

'Damn, I almost Died because of my overconfidence. I was too focused on writing that I forget where I am.'

'I am an Assassin but I acted like a professional Painter'

While chiding himself, Robin stared at the person walking towards him. That was Raseed. But Raseed didn't stop before Robin who was ready to strike, but he bypassed Robin and walked toward the wall. Upon reaching the wall he kept on hitting it again and again.

'What the fuck is he doing hitting the wall.'

Then something dawned on Robin,

'Don't tell me he is sleepwalking.'

Robin reached to Raseed and saw that both of his eyes are half-open.

'Damn, you sleepwalker. You scared me shitless.'

Robin, very much want to slam Raseed into the wall, but he perceived for the mission,

'Why me. Why I get to meet all the weird people in the world.'

Robin felt pathetic because for a second seeing a person standing behind him, let his heart stop its beating.

Thinking that he looked at Jasper and sympathized himself even more.

Not waiting for another moment he stood beside Raseed and said to Jasper,

'Take a picture in which he is also there. The client may give a higher reward for seeing this.'

Jasper nodded with a great passion,

Seeing that Robin thought,

'Wow. Jasper looks so hooked up. Did something happend that I missed out.'

Then Jasper flew with a tiny holographic camera in its hand and from the air clicked several pictures of Robin and Raseed. Jasper even made Robin turn and give a pose so that the twin dagger logo in his hoodie is visible for marketing to the client.

Actually, they forgot that they are on a mission and they are inside someone else house. The acted like a tourist on a vacation in a beach taking a selfie.

After checking that the photos are good and the wall is clearer in the picture, Robin shifted Raseed's body so that he won't be slamming to dead on the wall and disappeared from the room, with a little regret in his heart,

'I still didn't meet his wife.'

On a random rooftop,

"It's already near 2:00 am. The sky is too murky and it time for ghosts to go for a walk. Let's go to the Assassin Guild and get the mission reward."

said, Robin while looking at the digital time in his bracelet.

''Boss, the night is still dark, let's do another mission."

Said Jasper.

Robin bloomed with a happy smile hearing the word mission because to him it is interpreted as the word money.

However, realizing something was off, Robin asked,

"Why are you calling me boss now?"

Jasper explained with a serious look,

"I thought about it and decided that for the missions we are accomplishing, I think 'boss' will be the correct term of usage."

Robin's face twitched,

"So what is the mission?"

"Boss, according to the stipulation of the Assassin or any other guild, a person can take up to five missions a week. So let's finish what we can now."

Hearing that Robin understood, if they can do unlimited mission then it will be no mission week for others. The same goes for all the powerful peoples.

"Is it an Elite mission"

Hearing Robin's query Jasper widened his eyes,

"Boss. You are becoming increasingly greedy and acting as a low-level person. Do you think Elite's mission grows on a tree? And for one week, only one Elite and Ultra Elite can a person take as per guild rules."

Robin reprimanded Jasper,

"What you mean low-level ones"

Jasper just rolled its eyes and continued,

"Our next mission will be this, "

Then a screen appeared before Robin, it was a mission which he already knew,

'Robbery mission'

[Recovery mission: Bring the thing that was stolen from the client.

Full details will be given on acceptance of the mission.

Robin asked,

"It looks peculiar don't you think"

Jasper nodded on that comment of Robin,

"Yes, it is, but similarly they pay high, don't you think"

Hearing the word high pay Robin nodded his head vigorously, and relinquished all his qualms about the mission,

"Yep. High-risk, high pay"

"Let's do this"

[Recovery mission: Bring the box that was stolen from the client. It was stolen from the client by the mayor of Black Cloud City. The picture is attached to how the box looks like. It is presumably to be found in the study room of Mayor. More accurately behind the bookshelf.

The box image looked to be like a small wooden box with a multicolor design on the body. And at the center of the design was a number 121.

Seeing this Robin told Jasper,

''It looks like an easy job but there is a lot of suspecting points in this, like what is inside that box and why would Mayor rob someone and the most important thing is if the quest giver knows the exact spot where the stolen box is placed, why the heck didn't they themselves take it.''

Hearing this Jasper agreed too,

"Yes, boss. The client has all details and why didn't they retrieve the box. Why give a mission to the Assassin Guild."

But Robin shook his head and looked ahead at the tallest building that can be seen anywhere from the city.,

"I'm talking about the Mayor's mansion"

Jasper understood what Robin was saying,

"Yes. Boss. Since Black Cloud City is a Beginners city it is always crowded and busy with people, day and night. Furthermore, lots of criminals gather here. So the security of the Mayor Mansion is top-notch. It is a difficult mission. This must have been the Elite mission."

Robin again shook his head,

"I'm not talking about that, why the heck is the reward only 1200 gold coins when we have to enter City Mayor's house. That has the top security in all of Black Cloud City."

Jasper facepalmed himself hearing what Robin said, 'Master is losing all his rational thoughts in the face of money'. But Jasper didn't say his thoughts out.

Robin teleport continuously flashing on numerous building's rooftops and reached the city Mayor's Mansion after half an hour.

From the roof of the nearby buildings, Robin started surveying the Mansion security from different corners of the building. Everywhere he saw on the Mansion was filled with guards that are fully armed from head to toe. While half of the guards are in only Beginners Realm, more than half of them are in Apprentice Realm same as him. It made him even more annoyed.

'The pay is too low'

Then with his several years of experience as a top-notch assassin, he made a detailed safe route into the Mansion.

Robin disappeared from the roof he was standing and appeared on a tree's branch that exists inside the Mayor's mansion.

Due to the sudden appearance of Robin in the tree, the birds that nested on the tree started to fly. Hearing the birds flapping commotion the guards in the nearby region looked at the top of the tree. But there was nothing on the treetop.

Robin has teleported the next second after landing on the tree branch. He now appeared right behind a guard on the second floor. The guard that was looking at the tree sensed something and looked back. However, nothing was behind him.

'Is it a ghost?'

Robin is now standing in the hallway to the study room on the second floor. There are two guards standing at the entrance.

Robin just smirked and disappeared.

'It must be this bookshelf'

said Robin through his thoughts to Jasper. He was now inside the Mayor's study room. There were about eight bookshelves in this room.

After some contemplation, Robin tapped the wall lightly with his dagger and searched for a hollow place. And found that in his sixth attempt. He pushed the shelf slowly and found the secret cabin inside.

'Why are there so many boxes here?'

This cabin was filled with numerous wooden boxes like the one in the picture. They are neatly arranged on a big rack. Every box is numbered. There was a total of 500 boxes.

Robin took the box with the number 121 written on its surface.

'It looks just like the wooden box on the picture. But it is only about "5inches x 2 inches" box, what could be inside this box that is so much important that even the Mayor had to rob.'

He again looked at the rack,

'Just, How many people did he rob'

Robin's interest piqued, so he asked Jasper,

'Can you open this box'

Jasper shook his head,

'I can't now, but if your cultivation increased, I will upgrade. then I can open it. However, it is a mystery box, with magic inlaid, one wrong move and it will blow away'

Hearing that Robin became dejected, Accepting the small wooden box inside his bracelet he said,

'Then no other choice let's leave.'

Robin made a devilish smile and said while surveying the hidden cabin.

'But before that we gotta do our thing'.

twenty mins later,

Jasper who is sitting on his shoulder said,

'That's it, Boss. It's just the start of our legend'

Two hours later, as The Sun started to wake up slowly, Robin walked out of Assassin Guild with a huge grin on his face.

'Haha... I don't need to lie on the streets tomorrow'
