The next morning, when Adiria woke up, she felt a strange feeling within her body, one that she couldn't quite place her fingers on nor did she have the time to do so, since there were still work to be done and she would be meeting with the emperor's other ladies as well, ones that would be referred as his concubines.
The girl got out of her bed and went to freshen up, when she was finished, she left her room and went to meet lady Anyel, who had many preparations to do and since she was busy, Adiria offered to take care of the child, who had now taken quite the liking to her.
As she took care of the child as well as did a few other things, Sorang visited the lady's chamber and Adiria glanced back at him as she was preparing Anyel's dress.
"Oh? What brings you here? I thought you would be busy taking care of other matters," She said as she approached him.
"Yeah, there is a lot to deal with as of now, I will be assigning a guard to you, he will help take care of the child, today is important and cannot be messed up, no matter what," He replied.
"Too bad, he won't stay with any other stranger just like that, she is a different case though, if you do want to assign somene, that's okay with me but she will stay with my child as well," She said and Sorang glanced at her with a smirk and she flinched.
'Why does he look at me like if I am some sort of pray at times or does he delight in getting me on my nerves?' She wondered as she lifted the child up in her arms and he exhaled deeply.
"Fine, then I personally assign myself," He said and they left staring at him.
"I refuse," She replied as she lifted her right hand and he looked at her then she glanced at her hand, for she did that on reflex and he chuckled.
"Fine, you seem to like having her around anyways, do as you please," She said and Adiria exhaled deeply before scoffing and he grinned.
"It's only for the best and you know that, don't you?" He asked as she turned around and he leaned in closer to her, his long his brushing against her neck and she turned to look at him, their eyes meeting and lady Anyel smiled when she saw that, while some of the maids began whispering.
"I will send you flying, do I look like I care? You are just doing as you please anyways, what's up with you?" She asked with a blank expression in her eyes and his eyes narrowed then he smiled.
"You will know sooner or later, you are stuck with me, whether you like it or not," He said as he walked away with a smile on his face and she left staring at him then blinked her eyes.
'Gross, what's up with this guy? He is hard to read, I feel like strangling him in his sleep,' She thought.
"Ah, she doesn't like his gut at all, her expression says it all, this is interesting," Anyel mumbled then both of them continued doing their work.
Later that morning, when Adiria finished doing her work, the woman handed her a dress to wear and upon seeing it, she took a step back, not wanting to wear it, but Anyel wouldn't take no as an answer and threatened her if she didn't wear it, she will change it for her by herself, even if it meant pinning her down.
Hearing that, Adiria collected the dress without any other complaints and Anyel smiled at her then Adiria sighed.
"Go get changed, the guests have already started arriving, I will wait for you, we will go together," She said.
"Got it, I won't take too long," She replied then left to go get ready as did the lady.
Upon returning to her room, Adiria sighed then looked at herself in the mirror before going to do her normal routine and when she was finished, she began getting dressed for the event.
While she was getting dressed, she felt a heat within a certain part of her body and her eyes widened, when she noticed that her eyes were glowing in the mirror.
"What the hell is going on with me? This is not the first time; do I have an ability like those other magic users or am I sick?" She wondered as she looked at herself.
Just then, the image of a dragon appeared behind her, with piercing glowing eyes and her eyes trembled as she stepped back, wondering what was going on and the dragon was looking right at her.
Its growl echoed in her ears and she felt a shiver running up her spine as a few images flashed before her eyes and she gritted her teeth.
'Am I going crazy now?' She thought as a few of the other maids came to get her and when they knocked on her door, she felt a sudden wave of energy within her body and she sighed.
Within just a minute, everything returned to normal and she opened the door for them, upon seeing how neatly she was dressed, they smiled and took her to lady Anyel, who was with Sorang at the time and guests were entering the premises in many numbers, heading to the main palace.
"Lady Anyel, master Sorang," She said as she approached them and Anyel smiled when she saw her.
"Ah, miss caretaker..." Sorang said and when he turned around to look at her, he blinked before wiping his eyes and a smirk appeared on his face.
The girl wore a long, long sleeved, slightly flare dress, which was a dark blue mixed with dark purple and her hair was let down with her bangs coming into a plait by the two sides of her head, wit a shawl draping down behind her and the dress was a perfect fit for her body.
"Hello," She replied and he leaned in closer to her, passing his hand on her hair and Anyel smiled at the view.
"I have a feeling I won't be seeing you dress like this for a long time to come, you look nice, I might as well enjoy the view," He said with a genuine smile on his face as she stared at him.
'This guy...' She thought.
"Thanks, let's go," She replied as she walked away with the lady and he followed behind them.
As they arrived at the main palace, she noticed a few people were looking in their direction and the child held onto her hand tightly, at the same time, men in cloaks appeared not far away from the palace, keeping a close eye on the young prince, little did Adiria know, from that day onwards, nothing was going to be the same about her.
