Everyone that was invited there, gathered in one of the main palace's largest hall and Adiria began feeling a bit uncomfortable, knowing that a lot of eyes were landing on her.
The young master grabbed her by her arm and she glanced at him and he smiled before standing beside her and placing her to stand with lady Anye, then Adiria lifted the little boy in her arm and he smiled at her.
As they were waiting, they chatted and Adiria noticed that Sorang was looking a bit annoyed and her brows furrowed, wondering what was going on with him at the time, but didn't ask.
After a little while of waiting, the emperor's arrival was announced and everyone turned to the main door as his women lined up in one side and he entered.
Adiria looked at him and as he walked by them, he glanced at her and his son in her arms, then his eyes narrowed and he went in front of the audience, which greeted him, by bowing their heads in respect.
"Papa," The child mumbled and Adiria smiled at him.
"Yeah, do you want to go to him?" She asked and he nodded.
"Wait a little bit longer, I will tell you when to take him," Sorang said and she nodded as the emperor began speaking.
The emperor looked as though he was someone who just turned thirty, he was tall, had short dark hair, slightly green eyes, slim and was fair though he at times carried quite a stern expression and he was dressed neatly.
When he began giving his speech and talking to a few of the nobles that were there, his eyes turned to his son, who was busy smiling and playing with Adiria at the time and he sighed then approached them and Anyel saw.
"Adiria, give me Sorang," She said as she went to the girl and collected the child.
"Is he okay to come with me now?" The emperor asked as he approached them.
"Your Highness," Both Sorang and Adiria said as they bowed their heads and he smiled.
"I am in no mood for formal greetings right now, I just want to get this over with, raise your heads," He replied then collected his son.
Just as the emperor was about to leave with him, the little boy grabbed onto Adiria's sleeve and she glanced at him then his mother sighed and the emperor glanced at her.
"What's the matter?" She asked and the little boy planted a kiss on her cheek and Sorang glanced at him at the same time.
"Thank you, miss Adiria," He said and she patted him on the head then the emperor smiled and left with the child.
"Well, he seems to have taken quite the liking to you, well done, he even gave a kiss as an addition," He mumbled as she stared at him, with her brows flickering, wondering what had gotten into him.
'Someone who is weird, it is the first time meeting a person like her, she is indeed strange and she looks at me as though she hates my gut and I am the weird one, unlike other ladies but she is still kind and tolerate me, she is different in many ways, it irritates me, yet... What's with her?' He wondered as he glanced at her and the emperor stood before them.
He began talking about a few things, about the future, which included the fact that he wanted to build a stronger bond within the kingdoms and avoid as many war as possible and strengthen his nation.
As he spoke of his plans, her eyes widened when he introduced a few of his friends from the other kingdoms and she noticed it was a top official of the kingdom, she used to live in, another one who tried to capture her that night.
'These bastards...' She thought as she clenched her fist and her eyes began glowing on and off, as though someone was playing with its switch.
'I will find out the truth and when I do, I will come for your heads, even if I have to bring down that entire kingdom in the process,' She thought with nothing but anger in her eyes.
When the emperor finished talking, he introduced his son to everyone and without hesitation, he announced him to be he heir to his throne and Adiria, noticed that some people were not pleased, some looked with fake smiles on their faces and pretended they were okay with it.
"A bunch of pretenders, scums," Sorang mumbled and she glanced at him as he gritted his teeth, while looking at them and he clenched his fists.
"They are nothing but pests, sticking where they know they can get things to go in their favor, these people, are worse than demons," He said and her eyes narrowed.
'If it was up to me, I would rid the planet of these bottom feeders,' He thought.
'Why is he talking as though he hates them? What's with this guy? He is not only the most annoying person in my life and the one I want to avoid at all costs, but he is also hard to read,' She thought, before sighing.
When the emperor finished making his announcement and they cheered for the child, everyone left the hall and went to the courtyard, where there were tables and chairs as well as other venues, which were set up for the after party, for everyone to relax.
Seeing how things were with the nobles there, made Adiria's faith in them only drop more and she avoided getting any attention, especially from the one that came from her previous home, for she didn't want to make any sorts of mistake or act on impulse.
While everyone was celebrating, an explosion happened, not far from them and an arrow was sent flying near the child, who Sorang pulled away, causing the arrow to scrape the side of his arm and the emproros's eyes widened as everyone began scattering and men in cloaks appeared out of nowhere.
Sorang pulled out his blade as the knights rushed to the courtyard and the emperor's eyes began glowing.
"Take the child and go," The emperor said to Anyel.
The woman rushed to her child as Sorang got into a fight with one of them, sending him flying within just a few strikes but Adiria noticed one of them approaching the child and Anyel wouldn't make it in time.
"Oh no..." She mumbled.
The girl rushed forth without thinking anything, grabbing the child before the person could touch him and she ran off in the other direction, heading to the woods with him, but the person followed her.
Anyel saw and was glad that Adiria collected him, but at the same time, she was worried, wondering what was going to happen next.
At the same time, the dragon bracelet that was given to the girl for her birthday, began glowing brightly in her room and a mark began appearing on Adiria's body, one which she didn't notice.
