Chapter Twelve

When I woke up before I even opened my eyes I felt warmth surrounding me and my body didn’t hurt nearly as bad as I remembered before. I opened my eyes and realized I was in bed, back at the house, and that my clothes had been changed. I now had on pajamas and I was cleaned up, making me feel slightly embarrassed that Nikkos had cleaned me up but also grateful. I didn’t want to end up sleeping in blood for however long I was out for.

I pushed the covers off my body and moved to stand up but I actually ended up feeling dizzy and having to sit back down on the bed. As I tried to gather myself I heard Nikkos before looking up and seeing him come through the door, holding a cup in one hand and a bowl of soup I had packed in the other. He saw me and looked concerned as he rushed closer, setting the two items on the bedside table before crouching in front of me.

“Are you okay?” He asked as his eyes examined me.

I cleared my throat, “Yeah, just got dizzy when I stood up.”
