Chapter 133: Jesse Quick and the Speed Serum

Such a grim environment would deter most people, even those with considerable abilities. But Su Sheng was contemplating which of his powers to use.

The distance seemed manageable with either Divine Power or Divine Speed, though it felt a bit beneath him.

Fly over?

Abilities like Firestorm's or the Weather Wizard's could achieve that, but they didn't feel dramatic enough.

"How about trying the Frost Killer's ability?" Su Sheng mused, a smile playing at his lips as he exuded a chilling aura.

Without hesitation, he leaped off the cliff.

As he plummeted, Su Sheng's palms faced downward, and his ability quickly activated. The air around him started to freeze, and the space beneath his feet solidified into ice, stabilizing his descent. His hands moved deftly, creating a long ice path that extended toward the opposite side of the cliff.

Upon reaching the entrance of the cave, Su Sheng set his feet down, and the ice path collapsed, falling into the abyss below.

"Not bad," he said with a chuckle, stepping into the cave.

The tunnel was dimly lit and eerily silent. After walking for about five or six minutes, he arrived at what appeared to be a rest area. Abandoned equipment littered the space, and in the corner of the open area was a fenced cage. Inside, a girl was chained by one hand, her face a picture of fear and despair.

Jesse Chambers-Wells.

In the future, she would be known as Jesse Quick, a member of the Speed Force family.

As Su Sheng approached, Jesse's fear turned to terror upon seeing him. But then, realizing he wasn't Zoom, she shouted with hope, "Help me! Help me, I was captured by Zoom. Save me…"

"Shh, calm down!" Su Sheng said, trying to soothe her as she trembled.

Jesse, about the same age as Thea, was similarly athletic, though her physique was noticeably more robust.

"Uh…"

Jesse fell silent, perhaps stunned by Su Sheng's calm demeanor or by his words.

"Where's Zoom?" Su Sheng asked casually as he examined her restraints.

"I don't know," Jesse replied urgently, shaking her head. "Please, just save me. It'll be trouble if he comes back."

Su Sheng took a moment to survey the area and question Jesse about how long she'd been there and what Zoom had been doing recently. Her desperation to escape was palpable, her fear of Zoom's return nearly reducing her to tears.

People in desperate situations often find hope to be the hardest part, as the wait for it can be agonizing.

Fortunately, Su Sheng wasn't intent on torturing her. With a hint of disappointment that Zoom wasn't present, he easily unlocked the cell and broke the chain binding her.

"Thank you! Thank you so much…" Jesse exclaimed, hugging Su Sheng before pulling away quickly. "Let's get out of here!"

Su Sheng shrugged nonchalantly, then lifted Jesse in a princess carry. With a swoosh, yellow lightning burst from the cave entrance, propelling them out. The incredible speed made them soar high and land effortlessly, as if defying gravity, continuing forward without a pause.

Swish!

In a flash, they reappeared in the cutting-edge lab, specifically Harrison Wells' office.

Harrison Wells, having just completed writing a nanoscale technology equation, looked up as Su Sheng placed Jesse down. The sight of his daughter prompted him to leap forward, a mixture of relief and urgency in his eyes.

"Jesse!"

"Dad!" Jesse cried out, and they embraced tightly.

Su Sheng watched silently, then moved to the computer to examine the equation on the screen. It seemed to be finished, though he couldn't guarantee its completeness. If he could understand it himself, he wouldn't have needed Harrison Wells. The scientist had prepared a storage device, into which Su Sheng transferred the equation before stowing it away.

"I've brought both the person and the things I took," Su Sheng said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"If you dare lie to me, you'll find that Zoom is nothing compared to me!"

Harrison Wells nodded, his silence speaking volumes.

"Dad, who are they?" Jesse asked, eyeing Su Sheng and the Black Siren with curiosity. "They don't look like they're from around here."

Harrison Wells answered with a warm, reassuring tone. "It's not important. What matters is that you're safe. We've arranged to leave the central city and head to Atlantis immediately."

On Earth Two, Atlantis was not submerged.

"Wise choice," Su Sheng commented with a chuckle.

"Why? My family and friends are here. Do we really have to leave?" Jesse asked with visible reluctance.

The Black Siren pouted in response.

"Naive girl, don't you see? Staying could mean being recaptured by Zoom," she said, her tone laced with frustration.

"We have to leave!" Harrison Wells insisted firmly.

Su Sheng suddenly remembered something and turned to Harrison Wells. "By the way, do you have the formula for Velocity 6? I need it."

"What do you want that for? The formula is highly dangerous. It causes cells to deteriorate over time. Even if you have the Speed Force, it only provides a temporary boost in speed, but overuse can lead to permanent loss of speed!" Harrison Wells warned gravely.

"Just give it to me," Su Sheng said firmly. He was aware of the risks, but his interest lay in upgrading the formula to eliminate its side effects. He wanted to see if he could use his Speed Force energy to create a safer version. After all, yellow lightning was not his preferred choice.

Seeing Su Sheng's determination, Harrison Wells handed over the Velocity 6 formula without further argument.

PS: The Velocity 6 serum is a dangerous concoction that enhances speed temporarily but has severe side effects, including cellular decay. In the Flash series, the formula is related to the extreme speeds of characters like Zoom.
