----------------------------------------------------------------
Manhattan, Broadway.
Over a dozen fighter Jets hovered in the sky, chasing a battle below.
General Ross sat in a fighter plane, his face so gloomy that it seemed water could drip from it.
Initially, during this period, he was in good spirits. The Weapon X project led by William Stryker was exposed, and he was arrested. After interrogation, was given life imprisonment as punishment.
This caused the military to lose Weapon X's help in dealing with superpower incidents. And the Greenskin Project he oversaw naturally garnered more attention.
Following the last exchange with General Scudder, the higher-ups increased their support. They had to complete the Greenskin plan at any cost...
The plan ostensibly aimed to eliminate the threat posed by the Hulk. But the core was Hulk's blood.
Through capturing and researching the Hulk, a controllable genetic agent was developed, mass-producing a military-controlled Hulk. This also explained why General Ross disregarded mutants entirely.
In his view, capturing Hulk would solve everything. However, the situation progressed beyond his expectations.
The Hulk, who had fled the city, returned to New York city, offering the military a capture opportunity. Yet, despite their efforts, they couldn't apprehend him.
Eventually, Bruce Banner sought healing. He turned to a scientist named Dr. Lan and used the "antidote" the scientist had developed. Temporarily losing his transforming ability, Banner was captured by the military.
Witnesses attest that General Ross was brimming with ambition then. He felt that day was his happiest—
He eagerly anticipated returning to study Hulk's power....But now.... Hate emerged.
"Bronsky's a damn bastard! Being injected with the super soldier serum wasn't enough; he craved Hulk's power too!"
"Open fire!"
"Fire relentlessly!"
General Ross' furious voice echoed through the fighter jet.
The soldier with the machine gun looked confused. "General, there are two big guys below, which one should we assist?!"
"The green one, of course! Blast the other one to pieces!"
General Ross' anger peaked. Partly due to the derailment of his once-smooth plan, partly due to the emergence of hate, he sadly realized his only reliance was Hulk.
The same Hulk he had hunted for years. This reality was utterly unacceptable to his pride.
Still, he had no choice but to order assistance for his former enemy. In the fighter's perspective, Hulk stood no chance against Bronsky.
Bronsky, now injected with Hulk's serum, became wildly aggressive. He relentlessly pressured Hulk in combat. At this rate, both monsters would level Broadway Avenue.
Soldiers executed the order flawlessly. High-explosive machine guns sprayed a storm of bullets.
However... it was In vain!
…
"I've always wondered, where did the military find the courage to hunt and kill the Hulk? They must know their weapons can't breach his defense, right?"
"Do they know?"
From the top of a dozen-floor building, Lynn gazed down at the Abomination-Hulk battle, curiosity etched on his face.
Kitty smirked. "Likely. This is the self-confidence you mentioned."
Lynn shrugged.
"Tony's arrived."
In the distant sky, red and gold meteors sped towards them, joining the fray. Pulse guns and missiles targeted Abomination relentlessly.
Yet, alas, even with Mark 10's firepower, facing a monster like Abomination, the damage was really limited.
"Poor Tony. He wants to retreat and study advanced iron suits, but someone's always disrupting his flow..."
Lynn felt a tad guilty.
Last time, he disrupted Tony's research. This time, it somehow tied back to him.
With a soft sigh, he said, "Let's begin, give Tony time to study his suit."
"Okay!"
Shadowcat couldn't hold back any longer. She immediately activated her smartphone's setup after hearing this.
"Hello, dear audience..."
Viewers who had been frantically commenting on the mutant channel suddenly noticed that the channel had begun a live video broadcast. The familiar and beautiful female reporter, who had appeared in the mutant documentary before, reappeared on camera.
In the camera, Shadowcat appeared with an exceedingly serious expression. Her voice was tinged with inexplicable grief and indignation.
"Not long ago, we relayed everyone's comments from this channel to the X-Men. However, in reality, the X-Men were already en route to the battlefield as soon as we they wind of the news. And now....., they've arrived!"
Under Alice's control, the lens automatically shifted, activating the high-definition zoom function.
Immediately, the audience spotted the familiar Blackbird appearing in the distant sky.
"They're coming!"
"The X-Men are here!"
"I knew superheroes like them would never disregard people's lives!"
"Exactly, the X-Men will surely defeat those two monsters!"
"New York City is saved!"
"Not so fast. Didn't you see that Iron Man, after joining the battlefield and teaming up with another Hulk, couldn't do much against that aggressive monster? Can the X-Men really win?!"
"Hey, haven't you witnessed the sharpness of Wolverine's claws? They can definitely penetrate that monster's defense!"
"Plus Storm; she can control lightning!"
"And Cyclops' laser beams!"
"Phoenix can manipulate objects too!"
Everyone following the events got caught up in the excitement.
The live broadcast's popularity surged incredibly from the beginning.
However, to their surprise, four individuals disembarked from the Blackbird fighter plane, but Storm was absent. Instead, a bald old man in a wheelchair appeared.
Moreover, this old man seemed to be the X-Men's leader.
"Professor X!"
Those who had watched the X-Men documentary immediately recognized him.
A collective sigh of relief spread. After all, it was evident from the documentary that Professor X possessed potent psychic abilities, rendering the green monster's terrifying physical defense meaningless.
As expected, the moment Professor X emerged, he began attacking Abomination psychologically, abruptly halting his actions.
Hulk, who had been enduring a sustained beating, and Iron Man, who circled in the air, were momentarily stunned.
Yet, soon after, Professor X's voice resonated in their minds, tinged with surprise.
"His thoughts are incredibly chaotic and violent. It seems there's more than one. Two aggressive minds have merged, undergoing an unknown transformation... I can only temporarily control him. The time is limited; I can't remove him from this spot... Thirty seconds at most, then he'll break free... He must be eliminated!"
As Professor X spoke, he instinctively pressed his right hand against his temple. This slight gesture when activating his psychic abilities was something he only did when he was young. It indicated that he was putting forth his maximum effort.
"Do it!"
Hulk's mind was a jumble, causing a delayed reaction. However, Iron Man didn't hesitate. A powerful red laser materialized on his arm.
While facing whip locks, this laser weapon could only be used once.
Now, it was primed for multiple applications!
The red laser shot directly at Abomination's chest. The excruciating pain prompted relentless howls, intensifying his aggression. He struggled to break free from Professor X's control.
Unfortunately, by this time, Wolverine and Phoenix had also arrived.
"Hey, big guy, you think your skin's thicker or my claws are sharper?"
Logan spat out his cigar, leapt three meters, and approached Abomination. His claws, extended like daggers, pierced Abomination's chest with a hiss.
The Adamantium alloy proved its worth as the hardest metal in the world, easily piercing through Abomination's defense.
However, Logan's strength wasn't sufficient to fully harness the Adamanrium claws' sharpness.
The wolf claws only penetrated a small portion.
"Jean!"
Logan roared, and the prepared Phoenix sprang into action. She maximized her telekinetic power instantly, taking control of Logan's wolf claws and synergizing it with her own power... Tearing with all her might.
A wound visible to the naked eye appeared on Abomination's chest.
"Wha-"
He roared, his thoughts turning violently aggressive in an instant. He finally broke free from Professor X's mental grip.
Yet, just then, Cyclops' red optic beam struck. Exploiting the gap torn open by the wolf's claws.
Clearly, everyone had strategized on the way here to deal with Abomination. Their cooperation was now seamless.
With just one head-on encounter, Abomination sustained severe injuries.
The laser beam directly entered his body through the wound, and the gushing blood evaporated instantly. Viewers, witnessing this, almost believed his body had been pierced through.
"...You mutants, couldn't resist joining the party, huh?"
An enraged, violent voice erupted from his mouth, his green eyes aflame with hatred. Breaking free from the grip of mind control, showing a completely different side from Hulk.
He maintained Bronski's persona and sanity perfectly. And, of course...combat prowess.
"Boom!"
Almost immediately, he kicked Hulk away, his massive form hurtling toward Cyclops and Phoenix in the distance, compelling them to dodge.
The laser beam vanished abruptly.
Simultaneously, Abomination spread his arms wide, then abruptly clamped them shut, as if aiming to crush Logan to a pulp.
"Damn! How does this guy resemble a highly trained soldier?!"
Logan, who had served in the special forces, immediately sensed the the difference in Abomination's demeanor. He drew his wolf claws rapidly, executing a backward flip to evade the loathsome creature's claws.
The same question echoed in the minds of the audience at that moment.
As if to provide an answer...
The camera split into two, one part capturing the intense battle scene, while the other focused on the on-site reporter, Shadowcat.
"I'm sure many of you are curious about the origin of these two behemoths and whether they're failed mutant evolutions..."
Under Lynn's influence, the Shadowcat had matured significantly.
Whenever she mentioned mutants, she deliberately used the term "evolution," subtly shaping public perception of mutants.
"Actually, en route to this scene, I shared the same questions as all of you. If these two are failed mutant evolutions, it would undeniably signal a significant risk in human genetic evolution. But upon arriving, I chanced upon a participant in this incident and learned the truth..."
At this juncture, the previous anger reappeared on Shadowcat's face: "It turns out these two monsters have no ties to mutants; they're products of the military's super soldier program!"
This statement ignited a frenzy across the internet.
A common thought subconsciously lodged itself in everyone's mind.
The military again? Why is it the military again?!
As the William Stryker affair still reverberated across the internet, the military introduced another unsettling development. How many buildings were razed in the fierce clash between Abomination and Hulk? How many lives were lost?!
What other actions did the military undertake behind our backs, jeopardizing our safety?!
In an instant, all viewers of the live broadcast were once again stirred to their core.
Even those who backed the military and deemed the Phantom Cat's words slanderous were taken aback as a visibly shaken face appeared on the live feed.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Samuel Stern, known online as Mr. Blue. I hold a Ph.D. in genetics..."
Dressed in a blue coat, his face still bearing traces of blood, the man addressed the world with a wistful smile: "I'm here because the smaller Hulk is my online friend...". And that violent green monstrosity transformed into this state after being injected with the serum I researched..."
"Boom!"
An explosion of reactions swept through the online community!
