Contract
James felt his legs shake.
'What does he mean by annul the contract?'
It was at this time that Shelby raised her eyes and looked at her stepfather's. Meeting his eyes, she immediately averted it. Her heart did a quick flip on her, and she shrunk further into Ian's embrace. He held her tightly as if he could feel her messy emotions.
James, despite his chick suit, she could see a few wrinkles in otherwise not glaring parts. That was not like James at all. What was synonymous with his personality was his bloodshot eyes. She wondered what had happened for him to look like that early in the morning as that was his 'evening look'.
James felt his mind start to cloud up, and one thing remained hooked in his mind, 'I need to snort for clarity.'
If he had been in his own company, he would have dismissed everyone from the room so that he could snort in peace. However, it was obvious that he could not have that chance as he was the visitor.
