Avril's pride had taken a hit. She couldn't believe that someone as esteemed as the young lady of the Thornston family could be embarrassed like this!
Gritting her teeth and trying to avoid the sneering remarks and the lusty looks, Avril said, "Ok! Just give me some time; I will pay!"

One of the thugs shouted, "Why don't we turn you in for the bounty money? Even though that will not pay off everything, we will get something back!"
