Chapter 1: New Journey 

The carriage moved slowly along the winding road that led to the great city of Elyndor. Sixteen-year-old Kaelen Silvermoon watched out the window as the landscape changed from the green fields and hills to the vast expanse of the bustling metropolis.

The excitement of starting a new chapter in his life was mixed with the nostalgia of leaving behind the small coastal town that had been his home for so long.

Elyndor was a colossus of stone and wood, with towering buildings and streets packed with people. The city was preparing for the new year's festival, and the bustle in the air was palpable. Merchants sold their products, artists offered shows and visitors moved from one place to another with great enthusiasm. Kaelen, a newcomer, felt a mix of amazement and anxiety as he entered this new phase of his life.

After getting off the carriage, Kaelen headed to a cozy inn in the travelers' district, near the center of the city. The inn, with its red brick façade and flower-adorned windows, offered a comfortable retreat for her stay before beginning her studies at Venus Academy. 

The bustle of the festival filled the city with life, and the inn was no exception. The lobby was decorated with colorful bunting and festive music blared from a small group of musicians playing near the entrance. Kaelen checked in and went up to his room, a simple but cozy space, with a window overlooking the lively main street.

With the festival in full swing, Kaelen decided to take a moment to review his stats. He brought up his system with a mental command, which appeared as a floating window in front of him.

The system was an essential tool for Kaleen who aspires to be a student at Venus Academy, allowing them to prepare for the rigorous training that awaited them upon entering said world.

Kaelen had spent years honing his skills, but luck was still an obstacle. It was a reminder that despite their efforts and improvements, there were still factors that were out of their control.

Determined to make the most of the time before school started, Kaelen ventured out to explore Elyndor.

The festival was an ideal opportunity to interact with the city and its inhabitants, and there was much to discover. Festive events offered various ways to earn benefits before classes began at Venus Academy.

Holiday events were divided into three categories: dates with secondary characters, karma events, and secret missions.

Each type of event had its own rewards and benefits. Dating allowed you to gain favorability with supporting characters, karma events offered rewards for helping people and improving reputation, and secret missions included special tasks that could reveal important secrets or provide significant advantages.

Kaelen had heard of a tertiary NPC within the game "Nobles Desire Adventure" named Gregor. Although it did not have a crucial role in the main story, it was known for offering special equipment that could not be obtained any other way. Finding Gregor was a rare and random event, and many players had only had a single opportunity to obtain one of the powerful artifacts he offered.

Determined to find Gregor, Kaelen set out into the streets of Elyndor, questioning the residents and exploring the markets and alleys. The city was full of life, and the festival made every corner vibrant and lively. Food stalls offered a variety of local delicacies, and street performers entertained passersby with their performances.

Despite the bustle and joy of the festival, Kaelen grew increasingly frustrated as he found no clues to Gregor's location. The search was more complicated than he had anticipated. Rumors about the NPC were vague, and it seemed that finding him was a nearly impossible task. 

The night was approaching and the bustle of the festival was beginning to subside. Kaelen, tired and discouraged, decided to return to the inn. As he walked through the increasingly quiet streets, he felt a weight on his chest.

She had been searching for Gregor all day without success, and the possibility of not finding him seemed more and more real.

Just as he was about to enter the inn, a blue window appeared in front of him, interrupting his thoughts.

The Thieves' Treasure: Obtain the thieves' treasure and discover the hidden story.

The message caught his attention immediately. The mention of a hidden treasure and the promise of a hidden story piqued his curiosity. Although he wasn't entirely sure what the search entailed, Kaelen felt a renewed sense of purpose and excitement.

The night was young and Elyndor was still vibrant, even though the festival was beginning to wane. Kaelen decided that the treasure hunt was his new goal. The promise of uncovering something hidden and possibly obtaining a significant reward was too tempting to ignore.

With the message of the mission clear in his mind, Kaelen headed back to the inn, determined to prepare for the new quest.

The festival continued in a calmer tone, and the city lights offered a magical sight in the twilight. As he entered the inn, he felt a little more hopeful. He knew that the journey was not over and that, with a little luck, he would be able to find the treasure that had been mentioned in the quest.

The night was filled with reflection as Kaelen prepared for the next day.

The treasure hunt and the promise of what I might discover were exciting, but also challenging. With the start of classes at Venus Academy just around the corner, Kaelen knew she had to balance her time between searching and preparing for her new academic life.

At dawn, Elyndor woke up to the bustle of the festival resuming its rhythm. Kaelen woke up early, ready to face the challenge that awaited him. The search for the thieves' treasure was now his priority, and he was determined to make the most of the time he had before school started.

The new day began in Elyndor, and the city was as full of life as the night before had left it. But this time, Kaelen had a different goal in mind.

The bustle of the festival had taken a back seat in his mind, as he was determined to follow the mission he had just received and discover the Thieves' Treasure in the depths of the Underworld.

The Underworld was a vast underground city that stretched beneath Elyndor, known to be the home of those who could not afford to live on the surface.

Within the game, this location was a crucial annex for exploration, and players used it to access different maps.

There were three main maps in the game: Venus Academy, the city of Elyndor, and the Underworld.

Each of these places had its own secrets, challenges and rewards.

Access to the Underworld was through several entry points distributed throughout the city, but the most common and safest was a tunnel in the southern part of Elyndor.

This tunnel was guarded by the royal family of the Kingdom of Thaloria, a powerful dynasty that ruled not only over Elyndor, but also the vast territory surrounding it. Royal guards guarded the entrance to the Underworld and patrolled the main areas of the underground city, ensuring that order was maintained.

The tunnel was a dark and cold place, with the echo of footsteps echoing off the stone walls. Kaelen moved steadily forward, hiding his face under a hood as he walked deeper into the gloom. The transition from the festive surface city to the gloomy Underworld was abrupt, like changing worlds in an instant. The air was getting heavier, thick with humidity and the pungent smell of wet stone.

The Underworld itself was an immense place, much larger than any player could fully explore.

It was practically an endless dungeon, full of dark corners and labyrinthine passages.

Players had barely scratched the surface in the game, and Kaelen knew that there were many unexplored areas, full of unknown dangers and hidden treasures.

Following his intuition and the vague memory of his experiences in the game, Kaelen headed towards one of the alleys in the depths of the Underworld.

There, in the shadows, he found an abandoned robe that seemed to have been left behind by some unfortunate man who no longer needed it. He placed it over his clothes to better blend in with his surroundings and went even deeper into the dark heart of the Underworld.

As he continued, a new notification appeared on his system:

Active notification: Thieves' Treasure 

Follow the Underworld guards to locate the thieves' hideout.

Kaelen paused for a moment to take in the new information. The mission was clear: follow the Underworld guards, but doing so without being discovered would be a challenge.

The guards on the surface and those in the Underworld dressed differently. While the former wore black and white uniforms, symbols of their nobility and status, the guards of the Underworld dressed in black and red, and were, for the most part, commoners.

This distinction in clothing was one of the many reasons for the tension between both security forces, a latent conflict that could explode at any moment and that, eventually, would be one of the tests that Kaelen would have to face in her future at Venus Academy. .

Kaelen advanced cautiously, keeping a safe distance from the guards as he followed them through the dark corridors of the Underworld. As they went deeper and deeper into the depths, he noticed that the number of people decreased drastically.

Conditions worsened with every step, and poverty was evident on the faces of those few who crossed their path.

Eventually, Kaelen decided to use the roofs of buildings and structures to move around unseen. From that elevated position, he could follow the guards without attracting their attention.

The floors of the Underworld followed one after another, each time more gloomy and oppressive. Floors -25 to -29 were especially bleak, with barely a soul in sight. It was an area dominated by misery and abandonment, where the few inhabitants seemed like shadows in the middle of the ruins.

But when they reached Floor -30, everything changed. Suddenly, the atmosphere became more lively.

This floor housed warehouses, auction houses, and gaming areas, a center of commerce and illicit activity that contrasted with the desolation of the upper floors.

The crowd of people moving around this place made it easy for Kaelen to continue following the guards without attracting attention.

The guards finally headed towards an inn that Kaelen immediately recognized.

It was a location that, in the game, was used to investigate corruption within the Underworld guard force. Kaelen knew that this place hid more than it showed to the naked eye.

Determined not to be discovered, Kaelen chose not to follow the guards directly to the second floor of the inn. Instead, he approached the innkeeper and asked for the cheapest room available.

The woman looked at him with a mocking smile, clearly aware of the miserable conditions of the room she was about to offer him.

The room was in terrible condition, located right next to the basement. Water leaked constantly, leaving the walls and bed damp and moldy.

Kaelen barely paid attention to these details as he surveyed the place. His true objective was not to rest, but to continue his mission.

Climbing onto the only good chair in the room, Kaelen reached the ceiling.

He vaguely remembered, thanks to his knowledge of the game, that there was a space in the ceiling that could be used to spy on what was happening in the basement. With a little effort, Kaelen found a space large enough for a person to move around with difficulty.

He crawled through the narrow space until he reached the correct position, where he could see a crack in the basement ceiling. Through it, he observed the secret basement that the Underworld guards used for their illicit activities.

But what Kaelen saw from his position surprised him more than he expected. Not only were the guards there, but there was someone else there, a figure he recognized immediately, although he had no idea why he was in that place.

"Ehhh? Why is she here?" he thought, his heart racing.
