Marcus was stunned by the sudden change that had come over him. He had always been a nobody, a powerless and insignificant figure in a world where everyone else had something special about them. But now, with this strange silver box in his hand, he had become something more.
He looked around at the people on the street, feeling a strange mixture of exhilaration and fear. They were staring at him with a mixture of awe and confusion, unsure of what to make of this sudden transformation.
Marcus knew that he had to get away from here, to figure out what was happening to him and what this silver box was all about. He stuffed the box into his pocket and started walking, feeling the eyes of the people on the street following him.
As he walked, Marcus noticed something else that was different. His mind felt sharper, more focused, as if he could see through the thoughts of those around him. He could feel their emotions, their fears and desires, as if they were his own.
This new power was both exhilarating and terrifying, and Marcus didn't know how to handle it. He kept walking, trying to put some distance between himself and the people on the street, when he suddenly heard a voice behind him.
"Hey, you!"
Marcus turned around to see a man in a dark suit and sunglasses, striding towards him purposefully. He looked like some kind of government agent or security guard, and Marcus felt a jolt of fear run through him.
"Stop right there!" the man shouted. "What are you doing with that box?"
Marcus hesitated, unsure of how to respond. He didn't know who this man was or what he wanted from him, but he could sense that he was dangerous.
Without thinking, Marcus raised his hand and pointed it at the man. Suddenly, a burst of energy shot out from his hand, hitting the man square in the chest.
To Marcus's surprise, the man went flying backwards, slamming into the wall of a nearby building. He slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Marcus stared at his hand in shock, unsure of what he had just done. He had never had any kind of power before, and now he had just knocked a man out cold with a single blast.
But there was no time to dwell on this. He had to get out of here, to figure out what was happening to him and how he could control this new power.
With a sense of urgency, Marcus started running, leaving the unconscious man behind him. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew that he had to keep moving, to keep running from the unknown dangers that seemed to be closing in on him.
