Chapter 3 - Chase

Marcus ran as fast as he could, his heart pounding in his chest. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew he had to keep moving. He could feel the weight of the silver box in his pocket, a constant reminder of the strange power that had taken over him.

As he turned a corner, he saw a group of men in black suits and sunglasses emerging from a nearby alleyway. They spotted Marcus and started running towards him, shouting incoherently.

Marcus didn't know who these men were, but he had a feeling that they weren't there to help him. He picked up his pace, running faster than he ever had before. He could hear the sound of their footsteps pounding behind him, getting closer with every passing moment.

Marcus glanced over his shoulder, and he could see the men were gaining on him. They were getting closer and closer, and Marcus knew he had to do something. He reached into his pocket, feeling the cool metal of the silver box against his fingertips.

He pulled it out and held it up in front of him. Suddenly, a burst of energy shot out from the box, enveloping the men in a bright light. They stumbled and fell to the ground, their bodies convulsing in pain.

Marcus felt a sense of relief wash over him, but it was short-lived. He knew he had to keep moving, to keep running until he was out of danger.

He turned another corner, but he was too late. Another group of men in black suits and sunglasses had blocked his path. They had anticipated his move and were ready for him.

Marcus came to a stop, his chest heaving with exhaustion. He looked around, trying to find an escape route, but it was no use. The men had him cornered.

"Hand over the box," one of the men said, his voice cold and emotionless.

Marcus hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. He knew he couldn't give up the box, but he also knew he couldn't fight off all of these men alone.

Suddenly, a voice came from behind him. "Leave him alone."

Marcus turned to see a woman standing there, her arms crossed defiantly. She was dressed in a leather jacket and had a determined look on her face.

The men in black suits hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But then they lunged forward, intent on taking both Marcus and the woman down.

Marcus and the woman stood back-to-back, ready for whatever came their way. They were outnumbered and outgunned, but they refused to give up without a fight.

The men in black suits closed in on them, their fists raised and their faces twisted in anger. Marcus and the woman braced themselves for the impact, ready to face whatever came their way.
