A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

Basics of The Bo-Staff (1)

**(Colosseum - David)**

Waiting for Mr. Gluri to come back, David went into meditation.

He was constantly chanting inside his mind, 'I want to learn the bo-staff and the bow, I want to learn to bo-staff and the bow, I want to...' He kept chanting.

A few minutes later...

Mr. Gluri had come out, with several targets, arrows, and more bows and bo-staffs.

"It... shouldn't have taken you so long, right? Were the others causing you some trouble?" David turned to look at him.

"You noticed?" Gluri asked in surprise.

"Not... actually, yes, I did notice. A peak tier four struggling against a near peak tier two student... even if you were holding back... you seemed much weaker than you should be." David answered honestly.

"That's... fair." Gluri slowly nodded.

"Alright, I guess I can trust you for teaching me the basics on the staff, but... the bow? Could you find me a tutor for that?" David looked at the two weapons in his hands.

Gluri's face quickly distorted, "You!"

"I understand that you're strong, but the amount of clones you're using is putting quite the stress on you. It's better to just teach me for the bo-staff and recommend me a good tutor to practice archery." David responded, leaving no face for Gluri.

Gluri's mouth twitched in irritation, 'Alright... I'm gonna teach you a lesson!'

"Fine. Pick up your staff." He placed the targets, bows, and arrows back.

David stared at the wooden staff that was as long as his body.

He picked it up, feeling its lightweight on his hand.

'... Fuck... I didn't really watch any videos about this in my past life... ah screw it. I'll learn as I go.' David thought.

*Step Step Step*

Gluri stopped a few meters from him, "Alright, let's begin."

"Do you have any experience using the staff?" He asked.

"None, professor." David answered truthfully.

"I can see from the way you are standing..." Gluri looked down.

[Advanced Correction]!

Hearing that, David's special skill had already started working, slowly changing his stance.

He planted his feet onto the ground, going to a horse stance.

"Now?" David asked.

"Good, we'll work on balance first then." Gluri nodded in approval.

Actually, David had never done anything like this so his form was made on the spot, therefore, he was punished quite a bit for it.

*Thwack~*

"Your legs aren't straight!"

*Thwack~*

"Lift your head!"

*Thwack~*

"Don't slouch your back!"

*Thwack~*

"Your hands should be parallel to the floor!"

'Good thing this is a private lesson...' David was embarrassed beyond belief, being hit at least twice every minute before [Advanced Correction] could finally stabilize his horrible form.

"Good! Your form has improved! Now hold it for a few more minutes." Gluri smirked.

'The hell!? Why didn't my title come into effect!?' David shouted in his mind.

*Ding~*

[Answering the Host's question: Because the Host was learning a stance without holding a weapon, no bonuses were added.]

'Oh... being literal now, huh? Alright... calm down.' David closed his eyes, focusing on improving himself.

David exhaled, and opened his eyes.

"Good, time to move on to the other stances."

"We'll reinforce your foundation first, the long front stance, copy me." Gluri demonstrated.

His right leg was pointing straight, bent and his left leg were slightly to the left, behind him, tilted to the left slightly. His back and head were straight, his eyes were focused.

It was slightly more extended than the horse stance, so David had some trouble with it, causing him to be thwacked.

After a few minutes of adjusting his posture and stance, he had completely mastered his second main stance.

"Third stance, the front stance. So, basically what we did before, just in a more normal range, better for close-ranged attacks, going for the knees, overhead, etc. Copy me." Gluri demonstrated again.

His posture was still, yet powerful. His front leg bent, and his back leg straight, shoulder-width apart, making the diagonal of a square.

Because David had already done the long version of the front stance, he had quickly gotten used to the stance after a few times, keeping his legs shoulder-width apart, the direction of where the feet were pointing, small details like that.

This stance had only taken about a couple of minutes to master, he was getting used to this, he felt himself stabilizing much better than before.

"Good! Now for the last stance, I would call this a cat stance. It's mostly because of the fact that basically, one foot is going to be almost off the air, and most of your weight will be on your back leg. This one, you can observe first, look at the signs then tr to do it." Gluri demonstrated.

His legs were planted at first, but then his front leg had was slightly lifted, where only the toes were touching the ground, most of his weight seemed to be on his back knee, which was pointing to the left of him.

"This one might feel weird depending on if you usually put your weight on all parts of your foot, but you'll get used to it." He explained.

"I'll give it a try!" David nodded.

Before David had moved, a picture of a cat getting ready to pounce was on his mind.

He planted his feet, slightly lifted his front foot, and placed his weight on the back knee, now able to nearly perfectly copy everything Mr. Gluri did on the first try.

This stance had only taken about a minute, very small adjustments were made, shifting his body to be even more comfortable.

Each stance above had taken David some time and effort, especially when trying to maintain form while being hit by Mr. Gluri.

The four stances had given him quite the foundations for the feet, David didn't gain any attribute points... but he could that his body was being more effective with its strength and control output.

Even though he did these stances without the bo-staff, so his [Weapon Genius] title never activated, his regular [Genius] title still allows him to learn even faster than nobles.

"Good, seems like you have all the basic stances down. Now you can use the bo-staff." Gluri passed him the staff.

David grabbed the staff and instantly felt an epiphany.

'The hell is this feeling?' David looked at the staff.

*Ding~*

[Due to Host using a {Bo-Staff}, the proficiency skill {Melee Staff Technique} has been added! The skill {Weapons Genius} is in effect!]

'Finally!' David smiled.
