Chapter 7: Hopeless

We are on our way to the street where we first met. While Lara's driving, I would like to use this moment to thank her.

I said, "Lara." then she look at me. "Thank you. Your help really means a lot to me.", I sincerely said. I saw her smile. It is the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. Am I sick? Why is my heart beating so fast? Nevermind. I need to focus on finding the watch.

Lara remembered that a car almost hit me in that place. "Hey Lucas, remembered something?" No more clumsiness please, hahaha!", she said while laughing. I am so embarass at that moment but I'm not mad at her. Actually I find her cute.

We can't find it eventhough we checked every part of that place. We also asked people who passed that street if they have seen a watch but they didn't.

"What if someone got your watch and kept it?", she asked.

I became silent in what she have asked but I still have hope that we can find it.

Lara thinks that it might be on pawnshop so we go for it. We've asked different pawnshops but they don't have it. The last shop suggested to find it online and we did so.

We went back to her office. We tried searching the watch using the machine called computer. Lara typed about lost and found watches but nothing matched my wristwatch.

I know Lara is tired because of me. Out of nowhere I came to her and hug her. "Thank you Lara.", I sincerely said. She was shocked and speechless.

Damn why did I do that? I'm embarrassed of what I have done so I immediately went home. It's been a long day. We didn't find any signs of the watch. I'm getting hopeless. I need to rest now.
