Just a step from the hotel, I smelled the Italian air for the first time. I could almost taste the salt in the air.
The crowd, rushing people and the excitement in their faces made me sure that I was in one of the biggest cities around the world.
We texted in our group chat to find out where the others were, since a flood of people were in the same spot, rushing for photos, including Di.
"Are all my suitcases in the room?" Di asked between poses.
"It will take a while," I said.
I looked around. The ancient marble, the water with pennies in it, the burning sun all made me feel nostalgic.
We wandered for a while, had ice cream which was amazing, and saw many beautiful historic places. But the hot weather made it hard to stay out all day. When we came back to the hotel, all of us were exhausted and needed some sleep.
We said bye to each other and I walked to the elevator with Aiden.
