Brian Thompson is living a lie. A successful businessman, Brian can't stay focused in a real relationship and cheats on Timothy, his longtime lover. A phone call from his younger brother Joey, whom Brian hasn't spoken to in years, makes him recognize the uncanny resemblance between the two men.

Joey is, in a word, perfect. In Brian's eyes, he always has been. When their mother is hospitalized, Joey asks his older brother to come home. He tells Brian he needs him, which is just what Brian wants to hear. But the long trip north gives Brian plenty of time to think about his brother, and he comes to realize an unsettling truth -- he is in love with Joey.

Suddenly Brian admits that he wants Joey in ways he knows he shouldn't. Can he come to terms with the way he feels before his unrequited love threatens to tear him -- and his relationships with Timothy and Joey -- apart?

Chapter 1Chapter 1

1

Our Japanese rep has just started his report when my cell phone rings. As I take the call, my assistant Kevin hits the mute button on the speaker phone and throws me a dirty look. But at this hour of the morning, there’s only one person who would be calling me on this number—everyone else is in on the conference call, listening to Masuko rattle off last month’s sales figures. Despite the mute button, I whisper into my cell, “What’s wrong?”

My lover’s voice sounds hurt at my abruptness. “Hello to you too, Mr. Thompson.”

With a sigh, I massage my temples. “Timothy, I really don’t have the time for this—”

“You got a phone call,” Tim interrupts.

The way he says it makes me think he expects me to know who it was, like I’m a mind reader or something. When he doesn’t tell me right away, I snap, “And?”

I’m not in the mood and he knows it. “Never mind. I guess it can wait ‘til you get home. Or are you working late again tonight?”

Without thinking, my gaze drifts across the polished conference table to where Kevin sits, taking notes on Masuko’s report. Kevin’s a good ten years younger than me and naive enough to think that a few sloppy blowjobs after hours will get him the promotion into marketing that I know he wants. He’s nothing like Timothy, which only adds to his appeal. But there’s really nothing between us, and the moment he balks, I’ll kicking him to the curb like I did my last assistant—there are dozens of young men out there just like him, with hot, tight bodies and willing mouths, eager hands. My interest in him is already on the wane. When he notices me staring, he gives me a quick grin and runs that devilish tongue of his across the front of his teeth, like that’s supposed to be sexy. No, I’m not up for his games tonight. To Timothy, I say, “I should be home on time. Who called?”

My lover’s pout is evident in his silence. Why call me at work and then refuse to speak to me?I want to ask, but that would start an argument and God knows, I don’t need that shit today. I’ve got another two hours at least in this conference call, and a late lunch with a prominent WeHo ad client, not to mention a staff meeting after that. Today’s long enough as it is without a fight. Trying to tamp down my annoyance, I cajole, “Timothy, baby. What’s wrong?”

For a moment I’m sure he won’t answer, just pull that ‘it can wait’ routine of his, then spend the rest of the day stewing about the whole thing. But there’s something in what he doesn’t say, something that quickens my pulse and makes me think, irrationally, he knows

Knows what? About Kevin? No, my assistant’s been right here in this office with me all morning, he couldn’t have called my home. No one else who might have that number comes to mind. So why the rush of adrenaline through my system then? Why the trepidation that makes me ask, cautious, “Timothy? Talk to me. Who called?”

In my ear he sighs, a strangled sound that tells me he’s more upset than he lets on. That sound pushes me away from the table, already shifting into damage control mode, and when Kevin looks at me, I mouth, “Be right back.” Then I’m out in the hall, heading for a sunny spot near the windows so I can get better reception, and as I look down over the James River, meandering at the edge of the city, I ask again, “Timothy? What’s going on?”

“Brian,” he starts.

Suddenly I wonder when I held him last, just a quick hug for no reason at all. When did we last kiss? Not the peck on the corner of the lips that I gave him this morning when I left for the office but something deeper, something more. Something real. I should fire Kevin, or promote him like he wants, get him out of my office, hire a pretty girl who’s nice to look at but nothing tempting. I should be more loving to Timothy, more devoted, more honest. Then there would be no fear coursing through me, nothing to make me think I’ve done something wrong when I hear my name in his voice like that. I’m scared of what he’s planning to say. I want to hang up the phone, go back to my conference call, get on with my day. Instead, in a low voice I ask him, “What?”

Finally he tells me, “Some guy called for you.” My mind starts flickering through names and faces, trying to pin together someone who might have reason to call the house, but nothing sticks. “He said it was important, told me to get you to call him back right away.” A heartbeat later, he adds, “He said he was your brother.”

My—“God,” I whisper. My blood turns to ice in my veins—I knew I should’ve hung up when I had the chance. “Joey called? You’re sure it was Joey?”

Now Timothy snaps. “Brian, who the fuckis Joey? We’ve been seeing each other for three years now and maybe that’s not much to you but it’s a lifetime for me. And this is the firsttime I’ve heard shitabout a brother. So who is he? Tell me. Who the hell is he?”

He’s Joey.“He’s my brother, asshole,” I growl into the phone. “He told you that.”

The pout is back in Timothy’s voice. “Why haven’t you mentioned him before?”

“I’ve never mentioned my parents, either,” I point out, “but if an old guy called saying he was my dad, you’d believe him, right?”

No answer. I don’t expect one, don’t need one, because my head is spinning out in a million different directions right this moment, Joey. I haven’t talked to him in forever. Yet he sends me a card for my birthday every year, I have the stack of envelopes in the bottom of my underwear drawer, his spindly handwriting so familiar that I don’t have to open the cards to know who they’re from. And he has my phone number, imagine that? Maybe he Googled it. When Timothy doesn’t speak, I ask, “Did he say what he wanted? Is everything okay?”

“He said to call him back,” Timothy mutters with a sniffle. “You want his number now, or you want to call him back tonight?”

If I talk to Joey right this moment, the rest of the day will be shot. Hell, it’s already going down the drain…ignoring the reproach I hear in Timothy’s voice, I say sweetly, “I can call him later, I’ll be home on time. Thanks for letting me know, babe. I’ll see you soon.”

Another sniffle—now that I’ve turned on the charm, he’s reluctant to hang up. “Joey, huh? He sounds like a nice guy on the phone. He look anything like you?”

No,I think, he looks like you.But I shake that thought away before it can take root and smile into the phone. “You’d love him, everyone does. He’s great. Look, I’m sorry I never told you about him but he’s…I guess it just slipped my mind, you know? I haven’t seen him in years. He didn’t say why he called?”

“Just said to have you call him back, when you got in.”

I nod even though Timothy can’t see the gesture. “All right. You’ll be home when I get there?”

“Should be,” Timothy says. “I’m off until tomorrow, then I start on second shift. You’re sure you’re not staying late?”

I glance at my watch but don’t see the time—I see my brother’s rugged, bearded face smiling back at me. Timothy has the same warm eyes, the same ‘Mountain Man’ look. The same hands, the same narrow waist, the same thighs and hips and…

Shaking that thought away, I clear my throat. “I’ll be there a little after five. I gotta go, hon. I’m in the middle of a conference call here. Love you, all right?”

Before he can answer I close the phone, cutting the connection. For a moment longer I stand at the window, staring down at the river below, the traffic snared across the James River Bridge, the battered brick buildings downtown. Joey…why the hell would he be calling after all this time? What can he possibly want?

And, more importantly, do I have the courage to call him back to find out?

* * * *

I spend the rest of the day trying not to think of Joey and failing miserably. During the conference call, I stare out the window at the crisp autumn sky beyond the glass, lost in those thoughts. It’s been so long, he meshes with Timothy in my mind, the two of them interchangeable. I try to remember the last time I saw him—a while back, I’m not sure exactly when, far enough in the past that the details of his face have grown hazy, letting him morph into my lover and back again. I never realized it before, how closely they resembled each other. Did Timothy have that burly beard when we first started dating? Perhaps…I don’t recall for sure.

Pillow of Hearts: A tale between the warm hug and cold coffee

Moon Young Jae’s homophobic family considered him a disgrace and held his freedom in their clutch. Even with being obedient, he was not free from their abuse. Young Jae was almost blinded and crippled by his father when he stood up for himself for the first time. Left to bleed and die, luckily, he did have a family who wanted to save him. It was twin cousins, who were disowned long before him, who saved him. Sad and hopeless, Young Jae became curious when he met his cousins’ friend, who understood him better than anyone, even without words. Curiosity got the best of him, and he ended by handing his heart, love and soul over a plater as a price. Slowly, Young Jae fell in love with everything about and around Min Jun and eventually fell for the man. Calculative Wang Min Jun entered Young Jae’s life accidentally. He challenged Young Jae's belief with a warm smile and flipped Young Jae’s world upside down. Min Jun read Young Jae like an open book. He planned to get over the little crush he had on his seniors' cousin brother but failed miserably. Min Jun did not like the often-visited ‘frown’ between those beautiful eyebrows and even the always singing of ‘sigh’ through those sinful lips. Min Jun made it his mission to change it only to fall for everything about Young Jae. Wang Min Jun carried his share of baggage, but he was well-prepared to meet the demons from the past head-on. But Young Jae became a mess whenever his past demons decided to pay a visit. He realised he did not have to face anything alone as he has a wonderful boyfriend who cherishes everything about him. Both faced their past demons and trauma together. When a person betrayed by a family fell in love with a person who holds his family above everything, sparks flew, and hearts soared in happiness. Will their story has a harmonious bell, or would it be a sea of misery? Teaser: Files were shattered all over Min Jun’s bed, and his laptop was placed on the bedside table. It chimed once in a while, indicating a new email for him to check. The work was piling more and more as he was diligently finishing it. Young Jae walked into his boyfriend’s bedroom to witness his handsome lover working hard. "Jun Jun! Are you busy?" Even though Young Jae did not want to disturb his lover, he knew he needed some help to impress his boss. "Never for you, love. Tell you what you need?" Min Jun did not lift his head from the file he was going through, but the warmth in his voice reached Young Jae's heart without fail. "Do you have a minute to help me in reviewing my monthly internship report? I have to present to our boss tomorrow morning." Young Jae pouted as he asked. Min Ju looked at his adorable tokki and smiled mischievously. "You are brave, asking your superior to help you sneakily. I can't do it for free. I need a huge bribe to help you. What are you planning to offer?" "Be serious. You have too much work to do." Young Jae chided his shameless boyfriend, who never failed to seize every opportunity to make him moan and groan as he takes him to the pleasurable heaven. "Exactly. I have too much work to do. If I am taking my time to help you, I need something in return. Something so tempting that I don’t mind cramping lots of things later." Min Jun smiled like a devil he was as he grabbed Young Jae towards him. The little rabbit who fell into the cunning wolf's lap did not even get a chance to protest as he was devoured breathlessly. Young Jae forgot why he entered the wolf's lair altogether. Min Jun pushed the files away to make space for his little rabbit to lay down comfortably. Young Jae’s report was long forgotten as a treacherous hand started to caress him again under the shirt as a sinful sound filled the room. He then took a decision and planted the two daggers in the ground in front of them, he ran his hands under Kevin's sweater and circled his waist with them, pressing him more against him. Song of the Gardener of Souls [BL]

Rowan sees beauty in death. The Order he has sworn to obey only sees defilement. As the reviled Caretaker of the Order, Rowan has accepted his role as a dutiful outcast because he believes it is the only way to prove his worth to the man who holds his sisters’ souls as collateral. With his magic and his voice, Rowan can absorb death and transform it, but only in ways the Order deems acceptable to maintain the stability of the reality it claims to protect Order must subdue Disorder. Reality must triumph over illusion. He is tainted and always will be. Rowan has never questioned those lessons, but that changes the night he harvests a crimson soul that is more than human and chooses to keep it a secret. When Rowan’s song transforms that soul into a beautiful and mysterious man he names Wren, he is forced to accept that sometimes duty is a lie and illusion is the only thing you can trust. As the fabric of the Order begins to unwind and a new kind of Disorder takes hold, Rowan will need to choose again, stand with the Order that held him down, or forge a new path with Wren at his side. He may be the only one who can restore balance to the worlds, but only if he can find balance within himself first. ************************************* Updates 3-4 times per week. Note: This story focuses on relationships. I promise an epic romance, lots of swoon-worthy moments, and a healthy amount of fluff. When it does get steamy…you might get burned. Fair warning for explicit content. I don’t shy away from my spice. There are lots of side characters and couples to fall in love with, in addition to the main couple. If you love the idea of found family, you will be happy. This book is set in a non-heteronormative world, so you will see various gender identities/expressions and types of love. ************************************* Excerpt (if you want the full steamy version, you will have to read the book!): Still reeling from the new magic that coursed under his skin and unsure of how to react to the desire that threatened to take control of him, Rowan froze. Wren's hot breath against his mouth sent a jolt of pleasure through his body, and he choked back a groan. A different kind of panic flared in Rowan's chest, burning him as if he were the one on fire. This was what he wanted, what he'd thought about every night since Wren left. But wanting more was one thing. Acting on it was another. He'd spent so much of his life hiding, he didn't know how to do anything else. One corner of Wren's mouth twitched as Rowan pulled away. When he attempted to free himself from Wren's grasp, Wren just hauled him closer. Rowan liked that he didn't have to think about what to do next. His bare chest thudded against Wren's torso, and the heat from Wren's body merged with Rowan's skin, melting him from the inside out. "What did you just do to me?" Wren's deep voice vibrated against Rowan's chest. "The Disorder of your illusion was holding you captive. I…I absorbed it." "Oh? Where did you learn to do that? Have I been gone that long?" Wren's grip loosened slightly on Rowan's wrists as if he was satisfied now that Rowan was practically sitting on top him. Rowan stared at Wren's lips. He opened his mouth to protest, but immediately closed it again. "I know you aren't going to say that I shouldn't touch you." Wren's free hand splayed over the small of Rowan's back. "Not when you started it." Rowan's breath hitched. "No. I'm not going to say that anymore. Not to you." "I thought you were afraid to be touched." Wren's fingers traced a circle over the curve of Rowan's spine as if testing for a reaction. "I know that I'm not afraid of you." Rowan waited for the panic to set in, but all he felt was desire. "With you, I want…" "You want what?" "I want more." Triumph flared in Wren's gaze before he narrowed his eyes. "Really? Then why are you still trying to get away from me?"

The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

[WARNING: MATURE CONTENT 21+ // Watch Me Burn Them For You] "And if someday you see me, remember to forget my name, or karma will bow." **** For Awuor’s power, her people had done the unthinkable, in the history of werewolves. Her beta and brother, Dom, murdered their mother, the Sicario luna and blamed it on Awuor. In his grief, her father didn't bother to try and find out the truth, instead, for murdering her mother, he gave his daughter the worst punishment any alpha could ever get. He banished her from home, but Awuor’s wasn’t the usual banishment. Her father neither stripped her of the alpha title, nor did he make her a rogue. Instead, Alpha Sicario forced Awuor to be an exiled alpha, a woman so powerful, but with no one to rule over. Her mate, Jer, a power-hungry bastard, stepped up to rule the Sicario pack, since Awuor, the reigning alpha, was away, and Jer never once sought her out. Just like everyone else, he had betrayed her when he claimed a different woman, without rejecting Awuor. As the gates of Sicario closed on her, as her people watched her in disgust and disappointment, the daughter of Sicario had just one thought. A PROMISE of destruction & vengeance; she would ruin them all. *** [EXCERPT] "Either you're from the Dawson pack, the Bluemoon pack, or the Sicario pack, because you're definitely not from our Greyson pack. You must have done something really stupid for your alphas to banish you, even though you have no scent of the ferals. "So that could mean you're not a feral, but you're certainly not that important to your people. You seem to have an attitude and reek of power, that's why you don't appreciate anyone talking to you like a regular wolf. "But all of that doesn't matter right now, because you are the unwanted little wolf. The girl without a home, the rejected wolf who can't be claimed by anyone else. You're dressed in banana leaves because you have no clue how to make proper clothing on your own. "— or even check the feral cloth reservoir on the west of this forest. The fact that you have stayed so close to the other three packs is because you don't want to be away from home and are somehow hoping that they'd want you back. "Allow me to spell it out for you and make it easier for your probably useless brain to understand, little wolf, no one wants you. I'm only taking you to my alpha because your presence here is a nuisance to us, and for some reason, the alpha is interested in you. "And before you get any ideas about mates and whatnot, our alpha is already mated. So will you get up on your own, or do we have to take you stripped? Because I for one have no problem doing that. We could just treat you like the rogue that you're not," Adolf said to Awuor who still had her angry smirk on.

OWNED BY HIM

Angelo Verde is a spy who investigates the Mafia's underground business. In the middle of an undercover operation, some unavoidable events leave him no choice but to serve Marvel Yerevan, the Mafia crime boss of one formidable Family. The taste of horrible and peculiar experiences in the underworld does not stop him from stepping deeper into the Mafia's territory, all to gain Marvel's trust. Ready to submit, even become a plaything, he will act subservient while secretly taking advantage of his position for the investigation to complete the tasks he is given. But, can he win the mission when he has never been victorious over a personal battle with the boss? EXCERPT I: "Sir, I think you need to change your clothes, or else you will catch a cold." I suggested Marvel, using his half-wet suit of rain as an excuse to get to know him better. The man in front of me was so tall and well-built, his physique exposed both strength and beauty. It wasn't out of curiosity that I patted his shoulder to sweep the wet dots away, but I wanted to create a connection with him. "If you don't mind, let me help you," I smiled. "It's my responsibility to take care of your health and serve you, so let's go to your room and change-" The coldness of fingers touching my cheek startled me, freezing up the rest of my words. Before I could develop a reaction, the artistic form of a man had turned blurry above my dilated eyes when Marvel reduced our distance. Seizing up the air I meant to breathe in, his lips contrived a way to communicate with mine without the need for words. I always asked myself, what should I do to get closer to Marvel, to step into his territory, to make him trust me? I think I know now. EXCERPT II: "It isn't that hard," Marvel convinced me, sure of it. His knuckles slithered above my cheek. "All you have to do is put it inside your mouth and just let it slide above your tongue." His words were followed by a gesture of his thumb teasing my lips until I felt it in between my teeth. Demanding access, it started to push in deeper, stroking my tongue without any sign of reluctance. When his eyes slightly narrowed to hold a smile, the steel blue marbles glimmered, and I couldn't tear my gaze away from this handsome gent in front of me. "You can do it, right?" At first, I wanted to pretend I didn't understand what Marvel was talking about, but my attempt to be indifferent might not work against someone with a character like his, knowing how much power he had, and I realized what his true intention was. I forced my mouth to open, only later did I know that those simple words would change my fate completely. "Yes, Sir."
