In a crowded room like this, I expect to get touched. It would be impossible to keep a buffer of personal space in such a setting—even leaning against the bar, mostly out of the flow of traffic, I still get an occasional nudge from someone’s foot, or an elbow in my back, a hand on my arm as another walks past. But this is blatant, fingers curving around my ass with a possessive air that tells me someone’s checking out the goods. When I turn, I find a young man staring back, a head shorter than me, capped with tight blonde curls and eyes as blue as the sea. As blue as Joey’s,I think. Even though he’s younger than what I usually go for, his hand still cups my ass so he’s obviously interested. And I’m not in the mood to turn him away.
