The Living Nightmare: Tomikoa Muteki

Being home definitely feels a lot better than running around all day. It's been a few days since that triple date, I've been home ever since. Deku ran up to me as I was about to head upstairs to my room.

"Alyx! Did you hear? Someone broke the Quartet Girls out of Tartarus last night!" Deku told me.

"What? Really? Did they find out who it was?" I asked.

"No, they left without leaving a trace. The prison itself wasn't damaged at all." He explained.

I looked at his phone, he had the article pulled up and everything! I read through the article, there were pictures of the exterior of Tartarus and a couple pictures of the inside.

"You don't think that Kurogiri had something to do with this, do you?" I wondered.

"It couldn't have been him, he was caught a few hours after Tartarus was destroyed. There's not a whole lot of people I know that have some sort of Teleportation Quirk." Deku said.

I nodded, "Interesting, I guess I'm not sure who it is either then.

We sat there and thought for a bit, we were drawing blanks left and right, so we eventually gave up. There was still one thought lingering in the back of my mind, did the League reform? There's no way only one-person could've accomplished this.

"MOTHERFUCKER!!" Bakugo shouted from the kitchen.

We looked towards the kitchen and Bakugo pulled the empty cake pan out of the fridge. He took a deep breath in and then out.

"Which one of you put an EMPTY CAKE PAN back in the refrigerator?" Bakugo questioned.

I stood there thinking about what I did last night, I don't remember coming downstairs at all. I looked over to Mina who was sitting unusually still on the recliner. She looked at me and slightly shook her head.

"I didn't, I was in my room all night." I yelled over to him.

"I can confirm that as well!" Momo added.

He surveyed the room and his eyes locked onto Mina. She was kind of making it a little obvious. Bakugo brought the pan with him and hit her on the head with it! Except her horns went through the pan...

"HA HA! ASHIDO: 2, BAKUGO: 0!" Mina laughed.

Bakugo looked at the now ruined cake pan and just shook his head. Mina kept the pan on her head as some sort of trophy and she wouldn't take it off.

"Alyx, can't you just fix it?" Mineta asked.

"Yeah, but I don't think she's gonna let go of that thing." I replied.

I activated my Quirk and took one step toward her. I stopped in my tracks and fell to one knee, clutching the left side of my chest. There was a huge pain in that area and it knocked the wind out of me! My Quirk quickly deactivated and Deku, Mineta, and Mina rushed to my side.

"Alyx! What's wrong?" Deku questioned.

"C-Can't... Breathe..." I panted.

The last thing I heard before passing out was someone telling someone else to call Mr. Aizawa.

[One Day Later...]

I slowly opened my eyes and saw those familiar white walls. There was a ventilator on my face and I felt like utter shit. The beeping of the monitor next to me told me that I was gonna be here for a while. The door opened and I slowly turned my head.

"H-Hawks...?" I wearily croaked.

"Hey buddy, how are you feeling?" He asked.

"Like shit." I replied.

"Well, from what I was told, you're gonna be in here for a while. Your Quirk apparently put you into a heart attack, or it triggered some sort of lingering heart virus, they didn't exactly have an answer." Hawks explained.

"Great... Just great..." I muttered.

Hawks put his hands in his pockets and I looked out of the hospital window.

"You really don't know what a break is, do you? No wonder why Mirko wants you as a sidekick." Hawks chuckled.

"Just... Give it to me straight, how long... Am I gonna be here?" I wondered.

Hawks didn't say anything at first, he finally broke the silence, "They said about 3 to 5 days. If not, maybe a week and a half?"

That wasn't too bad, at least I'm not staying here for weeks on end. I nodded and looked at the clock on the wall. It was about 12:30, so everyone should be heading to lunch by now. Hawks sat and talked with me for a few hours before he left to run some "errands." A doctor came in shortly after Hawks left.

"So, Mr. Leonidus, I've got some good news for you. You'll only be in here for 2 if not 3 days maximum. The only downside is that you'll need to watch your overall condition. Luckily, your Quirk didn't activate some hidden virus or disease, but your family does have a history of heart attacks. Specifically, your father's side from what it seems." He told me.

"Yes, now that you mention it, everyone but my mother and younger sister has had one." I slightly smiled.

The doctor had also checked me out just in case I was feeling anything else. He left the room and I was alone with my thoughts once more. About 10 minutes later, there was a knock on my door. Everyone walked in and Deku had a bag of something that smelled really good! Momo sat down next to me and held my hand.

"How are you feeling, darling?" Momo asked.

"A lot better now that you guys are here." I responded.

Kirishima handed me a meat bun, "So, what happened dude? Are you gonna be alright?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Just a heart attack, that's all. My Quirk must've goofed with my heart and fucked it up." I replied.

"Just a heart attack? You're saying that like it's nothing that could've killed you!" Jiro added.

"I've fought a spirit that turned out to be the God of Evil, All For One, the League of Villains all at once, Shigaraki TWICE, and more. I don't think a heart attack should be exaggerated when you compare it to them!" I laughed.

I couldn't believe how weak it made me though, it took a bit out of me just to take my ventilator off! Kaminari grabbed my meat bun from me and crouched down next to me.

"Here comes the airplane! Choo choo!" Kaminari exclaimed.

I opened my mouth and he put the meat bun in there.

"First off, why the fuck did you put the whole meat bun in his mouth? And second off, a plane doesn't go 'Choo choo' Dunce Face. That's a goddamn train, idiot." Bakugo growled.

"So... What did... I miss?" I asked as I swallowed my food.

"Nothing really, it was just a normal day plus some recaps. We've prepared a full homework packet for you, Alyx." Iida informed.

"Ah, I see. Thank you, Iida." I acknowledged.

"We'll be going somewhere early tomorrow, so we can't stay for long. We'll be doing this Crime Scene Evaluation Training. But judging from the whole jewelry shop thing, you won't have to worry about it." Shinso piped in.

Kaminari stood up, "Speaking of training, does this mean that you won't be able to do any training, Alyx?"

"No, I'll be fine it's just that... I'll need to take it easy for a bit. Judging by the way things are looking out there, I'm pretty sure it'll be an easy recovery." I replied.

"Let's hope so! With the Quartet Girls running around, they could be planning anything." Uraraka noted.

We talked for a couple of hours before everyone left the room except for Momo and Deku.

"Alyx, do you think that we'll be okay?" Deku asked.

"Did you see something with One For All?" I responded.

"No, it's just that I've been having a gut feeling that Shigaraki lied. Who else could've gotten the Quartet Girls out of Tartarus?" He told me.

I shook my head, "It couldn't have been him, they would've released information about it in that article or the Pros would've said something. It could've been someone from the HPSC."

Let's just hope Deku's gut feeling was wrong. If Shigaraki did somehow get loose and is teaming up with the Quartet Girls, that'd spell utter doom for all of us!

[The Next Morning...]

I woke up today feeling a little better than yesterday. I looked out of the window and noticed smoke in the very far distance. I'm assuming a building caught on fire, but something was telling me to turn on the news. I turned on the T.V. and looked through the channels. I found a news channel and my heart dropped to my stomach. The entire Shizuoka Prefecture was destroyed, buildings collapsed and demolished, and thousands left injured, dead, or missing. I shot up from my hospital bed, using all of the strength I had, I got out of the bed and fell to the floor. I crawled over to the door and pulled myself up. I opened the door and slowly walked out.

"Sir? Sir! You need to remain in your room until-" A nurse shouted.

"Shut up! You're so damn annoying!" I retorted.

The nurse was shocked and didn't know what to say. I sighed and looked down.

"S-Sorry, I didn't mean to lash out at you, I've got somewhere to be." I apologized.

[2 Hours Later...]

I finally made it to the Northern Shizuoka Prefecture, I couldn't believe my ears, or my eyes. The cries of pain, shouts for help... I looked over towards a sign, all I could make out were the words "Psyche Ward." I made my way over to the building ruins. I carefully walked through the rubble and found a body. It was a woman with white hair. I knelt down and expected the worst, but she was still alive! Every breath I took created a stinging, sharp pain in my heart, but I ignored it. I activated Base Mode and healed the woman. Her eyes slowly opened and she took a slow, shaky breath of fresh air in.

"W-Wha...? W-What... Happened...?" She groggily asked.

"I'm not sure, but everything's okay, you're safe." I reassured.

I carried the woman on my back and made my way out of the destroyed psyche ward. The wind blew through the now empty streets, or well, what's left of them. I don't know why, but something was telling me to keep going, straight ahead. I could see the lights of ambulances and multiple helicopters touching down in the distance. There was an eerie silence that consumed the entire Prefecture as I walked down broken streets and passed large pieces of buildings and debris.

"Hey, were you in the ward as well? Your clothes don't look damaged." The woman asked me.

"No, I saw what happened and decided to take my leave from the hospital in Musutafu." I replied.

"Musutafu... You wouldn't happen to be a U.A. High student, are you?" She wondered.

I nodded, "Yes ma'am. I'm a second year in Class 2-A."

She gasped quietly but didn't say anything else. We got closer to where that voice told me to go, I couldn't help but notice the scorch marks and what seemed like claw marks on the ground and surrounding areas.

"What happened here...?" I muttered.

"I don't know, but all I remember is a bright flash of light coming through my window, and then that's when I woke up and saw you." She explained.

A bright flash of light? Surely there was more going on here, but maybe she didn't notice any of it until then. The woman put her hand on my head and it became a lot cooler.

"You're overheating, dear. You need to revert out of your Quirk." She cooed.

I felt a huge sense of motherly nature come from her, so I listened to what I was told to do. My Base Mode was already putting that much strain on me? The woman had some sort of Ice Quirk, since her arm started to frost up a bit. We found the blast site, the area was still smoking, and the ambulances were there. Strewn about the area was... Everyone... I saw other Pro Heroes standing about as most of them were laying on the ground, getting transported by the handful into helicopters and ambulances. I found Shoto sitting against a huge piece of debris. He was staring at the ground, not making a movement, his emotionless face almost told me the whole story. I slowly made my way to them and Shoto looked up.

"A-Alyx? How are you...?" Shoto stopped talking as he saw the woman I was carrying on my back.

I set the woman down and Shoto ran over to her, "Mom!"

"Shoto!" His Mother cried.

They held each other tightly for a bit. Shoto looked at his mother and tears streamed down his face. I walked over and he looked at me.

"T-Thank you, Alyx, for saving her." Shoto sniffled.

He hugged me and I felt his tears dampen my shirt. I hugged him back.

"Where's Momo? Is she okay?" I asked.

"S-She... She's been hurt bad... I'm not sure if she's alive or not, Alyx." Shoto replied.

I closed my eyes and grit my teeth, I felt Shoto's mother hug the both of us. I let go and let them be together for a while. I walked over to a battle-damaged Endeavor as he stood with other Pros.

"Leonidus, I didn't expect you'd be here. I suppose you're doing well?" Endeavor noted.

I stared blankly at the destruction in front of me. The amount of dead Pro Heroes strewn about was mind boggling. Nejire and Mirio came over to me but stood quietly.

"How many students died? How many more lives will be taken before you realize that children shouldn't be fighting your battles?" I coldly challenged.

I wasn't directly talking to Endeavor or any of the other Heroes, I could tell that they knew that. They remained silent as the other Pro Heroes found and saved as many people as they could.

"Alyx!" I heard Uraraka shout.

I looked to the right and saw her and Tsuyu running towards me. Both of their hero suits were torn and damaged. Uraraka's visor was cracked and Tsuyu's left lens of her goggles were shattered. Uraraka hugged me and started crying.

"T-There's so many people dead! I... We... We couldn't save them in time!" She sobbed.

"Who did this?" I deadpanned.

"I-It... It was Tomikoa!" Uraraka cried.

Tsuyu was bawling her eyes out as well, I hugged the both of them, and closed my eyes.

"I promise, she won't get away with this." I cooed.

I didn't know what else to say. Feelings of anger, sorrow, helplessness, and uncertainty filled my entire body. I wanted to say more, but I shouldn't raise the tension. I looked up and saw Annie healing dozens of injured civilians.

"A-Alyx... What are we going to do?" Tsuyu sniffled.

"I'll finish this. After everything she's done, Tomikoa's leaving Japan in a body bag." I replied.

Shoto and his mother walked over to us, I looked at them, which the look on my face told them everything. Endeavor turned around and looked stunned.

"Rei...?" He muttered?

They walked to each other and stared at one another. They didn't say a single word as they held each other close.

"Where's Mr. Aizawa?" I asked.

"He's been transported to the hospital. We've been cleaning up for the past hour now." Shoto told me.

After the clean-up and rescue of civilians and debris, the four of us made our slow walk back to the dorms. Uraraka held my hand the entire walk back home, I knew exactly what was going through her mind, but I could tell she knew the same about me. We made our way to a train station in Aichi and waited to board a train.

"Hey! You guys are those kids from U.A.! I never thought I'd..." The man's voice trailed off.

He seen the looks on our faces and faced forward. After about 10 minutes, the train stopped and we boarded it. Uraraka sat close to me and laid her head on my shoulder as I leaned forward, clasping my hands together. The people on the train looked concerned at all four of us.

[2 Hours Later...]

We arrived back at the dorms and we all went to our rooms. I changed out of my hospital clothes, after I showered, and into some bed clothes. There was a knock on my door, for a brief moment, my brain thought it was Momo. I opened it and Uraraka fell into me before I could even get a word out. She was sobbing hysterically and wouldn't let go of me. I held her and walked over to my bed.

"I couldn't save them... I couldn't..." Uraraka quietly cried.

I rubbed her back and slowed my breathing. I didn't say a word, but she could tell I was understanding how she felt. Her crying calmed down a bit, and it turned into sniffles. She curled up into a ball and laid her head against my chest. I looked over at the music box Momo got me for Christmas and grabbed it using an Overdrive Whip.

(I.R.P.: Listen to "You can Become a Hero [Music Box]" by R3 Music Box)

I wound it up and it started to play. I rocked gently back and forth and Uraraka's sniffles started to stop. I wrapped my arms around her and closed my eyes. Eventually, her breathing slowed too, and I opened my eyes. I looked down at her and saw that she was asleep. I slowly moved her and tucked her into my bed. I walked over to my closet and pulled out a sleeping bag. I laid it down on my bed right next to her and crawled into it. I didn't know what tomorrow held and neither did I really care. All that mattered to me was that everyone would come home, safe and sound. And that Tomikoa would be stopped before things get out of hand.
