Strange Summer Start! Temporary Girlfriend?

"Temporary... Girlfriend? What?" I questioned.

"Yeah huh! I can be your mini muffin again, for a small fee, of course! Tee hee!" Laura winked.

I narrowed my eyes and sighed, "Good grief... I'm not paying you just so you can be my girlfriend for 3 months."

"I know, I know, I'm just playing! So, what do you say?" She asked.

"I... I-I don't know, my family might get upset with me, the same with my friends." I replied.

"Oh, don't worry about that! I already talked to them about it, they said it was alright! As long as we don't do anything funny." Laura told me.

"Y-YOU ALREADY TOLD THEM?!" I shouted.

She nodded and winked, "Yep! Tee hee!"

Oh boy, this was quite the treat, she somehow made everyone think that it would be okay. Does this mean she talked to Momo about it too? How would that've even have gone down? I don't even think I could take her out anywhere unless I'm wanting to be peppered by questions from people. I already amassed a gigantic fanbase on social media!

"Okay... Fine... I guess it'll be nice." I agreed.

Laura extended her arms out as she sat down on the bed. I rolled my eyes and smiled as I fell into her.

"I really missed this, Aly." She cooed.

"I know." I smiled.

Well, if legitimately everyone I know is okay with it, there's most likely a reason why they are, as interesting or pointless as it may be. We sat there in silence for a bit before she decided to stretch.

"She hasn't been that far with you, has she?" Laura blurted.

It took me a bit to realize what she meant by that.

"W-WHAT THE?! HOLD ON, I-I DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU'RE INSINUATING!" I exclaimed.

"What? It's just a question, from what it sounds like, your parents were looking for someone that can commit. Besides, it's always good to plan ahead for the future!" Laura responded.

I got up from her and left my room to head to the bathroom. I placed my hands firmly on the sink and looked at my reflection.

"First Toga, Tomikoa, Kendo, and now Laura. No wonder why Momo was always so close to me whenever we went out..." I thought to myself.

I turned the water on, splashed a bit of water in my face, and took a deep breath out. After the questioning of my choices, I returned back to my room.

"Is... Everything alright?" Laura asked.

"Oh, yeah, everything's fine. I just had to question my life choices, but now everything's good." I reassured.

"Eh?" She uttered.

[1 Hour Later...]

Laura wanted to go out and explore Japan. I decided to give her a tour of pretty much everywhere I've been.

"This right here is where I first used my Quirk after I lost my memory! I can't believe that was almost 3 years ago now!" I told her.

"Wow! That's really cool!" She grinned.

We continued walking around the city until we both got bored. I took her to practically every place that I've been to and yet, it's almost as if I've never been there since so many things have changed!

"So, being that your Third Year at U.A. is coming up, your mother helped me enroll. I'll be in Class 3-B if I can pass an entrance exam." Laura informed me.

"Well, if you're wanting to train, I was just about to start a workout regimen of my own! I think I could help you out with improving your Quirk." I offered.

Her eyes lit up, "Really?! You'll let me train with you?!"

"Yep! We've got a long three months ahead of us, so we're going to be doing this nearly every day!" I beamed.

She was super excited to train with me! I had a whole thing planned out for me but I'm pretty sure I could find things she could do as well!

[3 weeks Later...]

"Alllyyyy... Are we almost done?" Laura groaned.

"Laura, it hasn't even been an hour yet." I replied.

She groaned again and flopped on the training room floor. Laura puffed her cheeks out and crossed her arms. I stood over her and bent down.

"Are you saying you don't want to train today?" I questioned.

She nodded her head which caused me to sigh. I picked her up over my shoulder and carried her up into my room. I laid her down on my bed.

"I'm taking a shower, feel free to do whatever you'd like." I told her.

I left my room to head to the bathroom. I could've sworn I heard something but I shrugged it off.

"You missed a spot." I heard Laura say.

"Oh, thank you!" I replied.

I tensed up and turned my head around, "W-What are you doing in here?!"

"I'm helping you of course! I'm sure you'd want to be clean as best as possible for your birthday today, right?" She beamed.

"Good grief..." I sighed.

After my rather interesting shower, I got ready for the day. I walked downstairs with Laura and saw that nobody was home. I looked downstairs to see if anyone was in the living room.

"Huh, everyone must be out?" I wondered.

We walked downstairs and the lights flipped on!

"Surprise! Happy Birthday!" Everyone shouted.

"HOLY HELL!" I shouted.

I nearly got scared half to death! How'd I not noticed Shoji hiding right next to me?! I calmed down and laughed.

"Aww, you guys! You didn't have to throw a surprise party!" I laughed.

"Well, it would've been rude to ignore your birthday, Alyx. We all decided to celebrate it in a rather surprising fashion." Iida smiled.

We went upstairs and Sato pulled a huge cake out of the fridge. He put it on the table and everyone gathered around me as they lit a candle.

"Huh... I've died three times before I became an adult, that's probably not good." I joked.

I blew out the candles and Mina leaned forward.

"Did ya make a wish?" She asked.

I nodded at her, although it's practically just a tradition, I wished that we'd ACTUALLY have peace around here for once. And longer than 3 months. My birthday party was really fun! We all had a really good time together, but if I was gonna be honest, I think it'd be better if Momo was here.

"Yo, man! You're looking a lot buffer than the last time I seen you. You still doing that stuff Endeavor gave you?" Kirishima asked.

"Yep! I'm also doing some workouts of my own as well. You should stop by sometime, I'm helping Laura with her Quirk, and I kinda need an extra training partner!" I replied.

I wrote down my training regimen for Kirishima. He's actually gonna come over every so often during the week to train! It was really nice seeing everyone again, it was definitely a relief, it took a lot of stress of my mind. They didn't get any gifts for me but I didn't care, I was just really glad that everyone was here! After the birthday party, and after hanging out with everyone until about midnight, I retired up to my room to get ready for bed. Laura sat up in my bed as I put a shirt on.

"Aly, can I ask you something?" She wondered.

"Sure, shoot." I agreed.

"Could you sleep with me, for one night?" She asked.

I looked over at her, visibly confused, "Don't I normally sleep with you every night?"

"You'd wear a girl out if you did!" Laura giggled.

I stood there still trying to process what she said. What exactly did she mean? Wait... Did she just ask if I could...?

"W-WAIT A DAMN MINUTE! DID YOU JUST-" I shouted.

"Shhhh! Quiet down! You don't wanna wake everyone up!" Laura whispered.

"F-First off, they said that you can't do anything funny! Meaning... That!" I quietly exclaimed.

She crawled closer to me, "Back when we were in Nevada, your mother told me that she wanted someone capable enough to handle you, Alyx. I can do that! What? Are you really going to live your entire life here in Japan while you have family and friends back home? We're adults now, it's time to make difficult decisions!"

"Not like I haven't made any in the past..." I muttered.

"Listen, Alyx, this might seem temporary but... Your mother told me that you're moving back to Nevada after this school year is over. Like I said before, I don't want to jeopardize anything between you and Yaoyorozu right now, but you won't see her after long and I'm trying to fill in that gap before it's too late." She explained.

We're... Moving? I guess I should be happy since I'll see Sheyenne, Joshua, and Karson again but I've done so much here. I've made way too many memories to count with everyone else. Hearing that we're moving back to Nevada after I graduate from U.A.? This honestly hit me hard.

"We're moving back? When was this said?" I asked.

"She talked about it a week ago I believe." Laura replied.

"Oh..." I deadpanned.

I gloomily crawled into bed, avoiding Laura's attempt at hugging me as she threw her shirt off. I laid down and faced away from her.

"Goodnight." I murmured.

"Alyx? Are you okay?" She questioned.

I didn't answer her, if I did, I'm pretty sure I'd say something stupid. Were we really moving or was Laura saying that in the heat of the moment? I sat there silently for a while; Laura wasn't making any noise so I figured she was asleep already. She started moving and she wrapped her arms around me.

"I-I'm really sorry for saying that, I didn't mean to make you upset." Laura sniffled.

I grabbed her hand and moved closer to her. I heard her stop sniffling which made her finally relax.

[The Next Morning...]

Laura's suddenly loud snore woke me up this morning, I didn't think that someone her size could snore that loud! I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I still was thinking about the thing she said to me last night. I got up from bed to make some coffee, I doubt it would help, but it's worth a shot.

"Good morning, dear! How'd you sleep?" My mother asked.

"Fine." I replied.

Annie walked downstairs with her normal every day bedhair, "How'd the party go last night, Alyx?"

"Fine." I answered.

I stood in front of the coffee maker and watched as coffee poured into my cup.

"What was all that screaming about last night, it sounded as if you got scared or something!" My mother questioned.

"It was nothing." I told her.

I took my cup out from the coffee maker and drank from it.

"A-Aren't you gonna wait for it to cool down?" Annie chuckled.

I lowered my cup and looked at her, "No."

Laura finally made her way downstairs, she's somehow rather cheerful in the morning, which was really nice to see. Well, it would be if my thoughts hadn't gotten the best of me.

Laura ran over and hugged me, "Sooo... Are we gonna train today? I'm really wanting to this time! I promise!"

"No, but you can if you'd like." I monotoned.

She stopped hugging me and stood back a bit. I wasn't paying attention to the looks in the room as I walked back upstairs to my room. I figured she would've followed me into my room but she didn't. I opened my window and looked down at the street below. I saw Kaminari and Jiro hanging out in one of the restaurants across the street. I closed my eyes and just took in the morning atmosphere. I placed my chin on the palm of my hand.

"I guess this really is it, isn't it?" I sighed.

I heard my door creak open, "Alyx? Are you okay?"

I turned my head slightly and saw Annie peering in. I looked back towards the city street.

"Yeah, I'm okay." I deadpanned.

"You definitely don't sound okay. Laura and Mom told me everything already, so you don't need to hide anything from me." Annie reassured.

I stepped away from the window, I guess it was time to actually talk about how I feel.
