Chapter 30: Change of airs [Final part]

After getting out of the rollercoaster, Hai and Hong Li-Wei decided to spend their time playing around.

They played some mini-games in some stalls, wandered around the park, did some pranks to each other and even to other people.

They spent hours like this and when they noticed, it was already almost dusk.

Noticing that there were fewer people in the park, Hai decided to go somewhere else.

He held Hong Li-Wei's hand and said to her while looking around.

"Sweet, how about we go somewhere else to finish our day?"

She turned to look at him and smiled mischievously.

"Oya~ There will be no Ferris wheel?" She joked with the fact that their date has been in the most cliché or obvious spots until now.

Hai looked at her with an amused expression.

"I can take you to a skyscraper if you want to go higher."

"The Ferris wheel moves up and down." She kept joking to see what he would say in his defense.

Hai smiled.

"You can just jump up and then down the skyscraper." He said with an innocent smile.

Hong Li-Wei looked at him with a deadpanned expression.

"Where will we be going to?" She decided to not try to joke with him for the time being. This guy always has a reply to everything.

Hai wasn't bothered with her annoyed look and simply started to walk towards the exit of the park.

After exiting the park, Hai went towards a parking lot and touched a car's door.

The door slid open and Hai stepped aside.

"After you." He said with a polite smile.

Hong Li-Wei just smiled hearing his antics and entered the car.

The door closed after she got in and Hai entered through the door at the driver's side.

After getting on, Hai put his finger on the middle of the steering wheel and the engine started.

Hai drove the simple car through the streets while holding himself back from simply ignoring the red lights and speeding off like he does in his games.

He leisurely drove while making small talks with Hong Li-Wei as to not make the mood awkward.

They kept talking and bantering back and forth for about 30 minutes.

Hai kept driving and by now they were already near the border of the city.

Hong Kong was one of the few remaining cities from before the war that happened years ago. The city is more like a city-state and is shaped like a big dome.

It has several thousands of kilometers in diameter and is relatively safe.

The borders are the place where there is more security as it is where the "safety" ends and nature show its fangs.

Outside Hong Kong there are the slums that is the place where the poor and miserable lives. Although Hong Kong may seem calm and peaceful, this place is only for those who can afford it and the truly rich. If you have no money, you'll not even be able to enter here, much less live here.

Hai is driving his car up a hill a few kilometers away from the border.

This hill has nothing special about it aside from the fact one can see a great part of Hong Kong from there.

After 10 more minutes of driving, they finally arrived at the top of the hill.

Hai parked the car in a small parking lot that was present there and got off the vehicle.

Hong Li-Wei followed suit and they both walked towards a more secluded place.

After silently walking for 5 minutes, they arrived at a small clearing near the edge of the hill.

Arriving there, Hai looked around and scanned the whole hill with his mana sense.

Not picking anything suspicious or dangerous, he went ahead and took out a comfortable sofa from his storage ring.

"Do you always carry a sofa when you go around?"

Hai turned back and saw Hong Li-Wei with slight exasperatedly face.

He nodded.

"I never know when I'll need to sit." He commented and took out some cushions.

Then, he picked a small orb and infused a bit of his mana in it. The orb started floating and went a few meters in front of the sofa.

After finishing this process, Hai walked towards the frontside of the sofa and sat on it.

He turned his head back to look at Hong Li-Wei and said:

"Come sweet."

Hong Li-Wei skipped on her feet and sat besides Hai while also hugging a cushion to her chest.

Hai waved his hand and the small floating orb project a screen in front of them.

"What do you want to watch?" Hai asked while showing the possible options.

Hong Li-Wei finally understood what they were going to do and already liked the idea.

"How about…" As she was going to suggest something, Hai cut her off.

"Just saying but no sexual, dramatic, edgy, corny or cliché movies." He stated with a bored look in his eyes.

Hong Li-Wei has a rather… peculiar taste for movies and series.

Hai remembered the time where he almost choked the life out of her for choosing to watch a werewolf drama instead of anime.

He nearly beat the shit out of her that day because she had already watched the damn drama more than 5 times.

Shaking off those thoughts, Hai kept browsing through the options while he waited for her answer.

Hong Li-Wei thought long and hard but, in the end, she had no idea.

She turned to Hai and shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't know." She admitted.

Hai's smile twitched but he already expected it.

"Ok, then I choose. We'll be watching a move about a man who is the target of social prejudge for being born the way he is and later when he finds love, the difference in status between the two parties come in but despite all of this, they manage to overcome it by fighting with all of their strength." He said and started to load the movie.

"Oh, it seems interesting. What is the name?" Hong Li-Wei asked as she like dramas.

Hai answered curtly.

"S*r@k."

Hong Li-Wei turned to Hai with a deadpanned face.

"What was that synopsis then?"

The movie finished loading and was starting.

Hai took out popcorn and some drinks for them before answering.

"Marketing." He shamelessly admitted and started to munch some popcorn.

Hong Li-Wei decided to just watch the movie.

To make sure they were at peace, Hai kept constantly scanning the whole hill with his mana sense while also maintaining a small barrier around them to protect them and lower the surroundings' sounds.

They both silently watched the movie while enjoying each other's company.

The movie just ended after a bit more than an hour.

Hai stretched his arms and looked besides him.

Hong Li-Wei was looking fixedly at the screen even though the movie just ended.

"So, how was it?" He asked her already knowing her answer.

She turned to him and looked at his eyes.

"That was amazing." She admitted without any falsehood.

She didn't know something could be so good.

Hai nodded at her opinion.

"Good, good. If you hadn't liked this masterpiece, I would have kicked your ass." He wasn't joking when he said it, he would really have done it. It's heresy to not like this work.

Hong Li-Wei didn't pay much attention to Hai's "threat" and turned to look back at the screen.

"Can we watch another one?"

Hai put the continuation of that movie on the screen but paused.

Hong Li-Wei looked back confusedly.

"Not yet." Hai stated with a smile.

Then, he moved their popcorn bags aside and cleaned their hands with magic.

He took out a blanket from his storage ring and let the cold night winds enter his barrier.

He picked Hong Li-Wei by her waist and cuddled with her while having her back leaning on his chest.

Then, he covered they both with the blanket and turned the sofa so they would be facing the screen.

"Now we can." He commented with a smile when he saw her red cheeks.

Hong Li-Wei softly snorted but made herself comfortable on Hai's broad chest.

His smile widened seeing this and he played the movie.

'I missed this peace.' He thought inwardly while tightening his holding on her.

After the film ended, Hai soundlessly put everything back inside his storage ring except for the sofa and everything in it and looked at Hong Li-Wei sleeping on his chest.

He did small movements and turned her so she would be facing him.

Then, he let her sleep with her head on his chest.

Hai picked his phone and messaged Elena through a message app.

[Handsome Prick]: Hi hon~

[Waifu]: Good afternoon, young master.

Hai smiled seeing her reply.

[Handsome Prick]: So stiff~ Relax hon.

[Waifu]: I thank you concern young master, but I'm the most comfortable I could be like this.

[Handsome Prick]: If you say so (～￣▽￣)～ Anyway, I called to say that I wouldn't be coming home tonight. I'm at that hill near the border with Hong Li-Wei and she fell asleep. She is too cute for me to wake up, so I'll be spending the night here.

[Waifu]: Understood, young master.

[Handsome Prick]: Oh, by the way, you should enjoy those last hours of work you have.

[Waifu]: I beg you pardon; I don't seem to understand what you mean, young master…

[Handsome Prick]: I have spent the whole day with Hong Li-Wei. Tomorrow when I arrive back home, I'll spoil you senseless. Don't even think about trying to work tomorrow.

[Waifu]: …

[Waifu]: Young master, please reconsider. I'm perfectly happy with the time you already give me.

[Handsome Prick]: Denied.

[Waifu]: Young master…

[Handsome Prick]: ( •_•)>⌐■-■

[Waifu]: …

[Handsome Prick]: (⌐■_■)

[Handsome Prick]: You request has been formally denied. Have a good night, my waifu.

Hai then closed the message app and put his phone in his storage ring.

He moved his hands and embraced Hong Li-Wei while also adjusting his position.

He looked at her sleeping face band held in the urge of pinching her cheeks.

She was just that cute.

Hai willed his mana and he stored her glasses inside his storage ring so they wouldn't bother her.

'Better.'

Hai closed his eyes while cuddling with her and let sleep take him to the land of dreams.

Atop of a hill, in a starry night, a young couple was peacefully sleeping in each other's embrace while laying on a sofa.

This would be a picturesque scene if anyone saw this.

But it would quickly turn into a bloody one if someone tried to do something funny to them.

If someone were to look at Hai and Hong Li-Wei and decide to do something to them, then this person wouldn't have noticed the dozens of ice knights armed with assault rifles and cold steel weapons hiding nearby while surveilling the surroundings.

The next morning, Hong Li-Wei's eyelids fluttered.

She slowly opened them and groggily raised her upper-body.

She noticed her blurry vision and rubbed her eyes.

After noticing that the blurriness wasn't going away, she started to look around and touch where she was standing on in search for her glasses.

"Here, sweet~" She heard a calm and familiar voice.

Right after, she felt a gloved hand touching her chin and another one putting her glasses on her eyes.

She blinked and the blurriness started to fade away.

She looked forwards and her sleepiness quickly faded away and gave place to embarrassment.

Her cheeks reddened and she looked at Hai laying below her in embarrassment.

"Wha-Wha-?"

"Shhh~" Hai made a hushing gesture and put his finger on her lips.

Then, with the same hand, he slid it up to her hair and lowered her head to his chest without using much force.

"Let us stay like this for some more time~"

Hong Li-Wei got even redder but she weakly nodded.

"Hm…" With a small sound, she agreed to his suggestion.

Hai smiled seeing this and embraced her again.

He used his ice magic and made the morning temperature be just good enough to not be too hot nor too cold.

Hai looked at her eyes that were looking anywhere else but his and opened his mouth.

"Hey sweet."

Hong Li-Wei's ears perked up and she shily turned to him.

"What is it?" Her voice was almost a mosquito-like one by how low it was.

"Could you see if my hair is too messy? I tend to always wake up with it a complete mess." Hai said while keeping his eyes closed and a slight smile.

Hong Li-Wei obviously didn't believe him but she nodded.

She raised her upper-body and looked close to his hair.

"By the way, sweet…"

"Hum?" She looked towards his face but was taken aback the next moment.

Hai suddenly kissed her lips.

Hong Li-Wei stood there paralyzed by the suddenness of his act but Hai didn't care.

He kept his kiss at only a basic level, that is, no tongue nor deep kiss.

He kept kissing her for a few seconds and then separated his lips from hers after softly biting her lower lip.

Just for him to lower her head and kiss her forehead.

"Good morning, and I love you." Hai whispered in her ears and dragged her back to his embrace.

"…" Hong Li-Wei said nothing and simply stood there.

A young couple composed of a handsome young man with a beautiful and frightened bunny in his arms stood atop a hill early in the morning.

"Oh, dear lord. I broke her."

"Hey sweet, are you okay?"

"Hm."

"Are you sure? There is smoke coming out of your ears."

A/N: Hello there, I hope you are having a wonderful day!

So, what do you guys think about this chapter? I tried to do something simpler in this one and add a bit of sugar as seen on the end. This chapter was the last one of Hai's date for now and we'll be back at the story in the next one, but don't worry, it wouldn't be action but a more slice of life and update about how things are at the moment. I will also start to work with Stella's relationship with Hai for now on but it will take a bit of time (not much), so don't expect her to simply fall in 1 chapter.
